There's plenty of bus drivers, cleaners, etc on way lower than $2500 and they aren't dying in the streets, so you could definitely survive on that.

Well, i used to stay along the same stretch as Paya Ubi Ind Park. It's quite unlikely you can get a room for less than $500 in that area as it's considered as "central" East. 3 years back i was already paying $600 for an air-conditioned common room.

Unless you don't mind sharing room with strangers, you might need to raise your budget to $600-700 for more choices. Best if it's along Ubi Ave 1 - you can walk to work or take bus 63. Allocate your transportation allowance saved (since you walk) to rental lor.

there are HDBs beside the office. should be great if I can get room there because will cut my transportation allowance.

It's illegal to work with a social visit pass. The company must get a work pass for you.

Visit pass cannot work. Company letter signed by BOD CEO CFO COO also no use. Only letter from Commissioner of ICA/MOM is ok. SVP max 90 days. Probation 3 months?
*
i see, my company need to get the letter from MOM first right ?

Cannot, this one working illegally liao. The company must apply for a work pass or training pass and get the IPA (in principle approval) before you can start work legally.
*
So they should go through work pass application first right because my friend only using 1 letter first and get a card a month later.

The most effective but expensive method is to do it the old fashion way. Come over to Singapore, flip through the recruitment newspaper and apply for your job through the company itself.

Let say I want to do the expensive method and put 14 days (2 weeks) in white card, do the immigration ask me why I'm stay so long?

what is the best answer? finding job?

Me.. But i drove into SG. The customs officer did ask about my desktop i just said it's a used desktop and they didn't bother much.

You feel bad about not telling the truth? Staying at auntie's house = will see your auntie = visiting mah. Anyway, if i were you, i will avoid all the unnecessary hassle. People already limiting influx of foreigners yet you still wanna tell people yes, i'm one of them hunting for jobs in your country. doh.gif

Immigration is strict about people jumping planes.

If you dont get a job, there is a chance that you might be desperate to settle down at Singapore. That is what immigration is worried about.

Visiting someone will help loosen things up a little on thier side. In the end of the day, who cares if you are really looking for a proper job on a 14 days pass. If they saw why so long just say it is your annual leave and you are close to that aunt since childhood days.

Come the time when you get the job, just say, "oh during my holiday here my aunt knew someone in the company looking for XXXX role in the company. They saw my experience and was interested to interview me. Got the job after interview." End of story.

Sometimes, too much honesty is good. Only with family. In business world, a little grey is always good.

Of course dont tell your real details here. People can report you. The beauty of the internet is everyone has the same face, name and sex.

thanks for all the input notworthy.gif

but of course will stay with my auntie and visiting my grandfather.
