BEFORE REGISTERING AN ACCOUNT, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO READ BELOW
What is Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn?
Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn is the "re-launch" version of the September 2010 Launched MMORPG, which was an uber and epic failure of a MMORPG. Despite being known as the worst launched MMORPG, they have admitted at fault, apologize and reshuffle the Development Team, with a brand new Director, Naoki Yoshida or known as Yoshi-P. Thus the first Final Fantasy XIV is reknown as Version 1.x. During his duration of overseeing and responsible to fix the mess that the old Development Team produce, SquareEnix CEO Yoichi Wada (Now former CEO) announce that the game will be free till it is fixed. So it begun the day where true fans of the game sticking to the game like glue and await the miracle patch that we thought it will come. The change to the game begin to see some significant enjoyment up to patch 1.21 where they announce that they are reinstating the Pay 2 Play for a the period of time, also announce... the version 2.0, where the whole game is being rebuild and was said to have already begun prior to patch 1.16. Meaning that they were doing Parallel Development where there not only keep updating the 1.X servers with Contents but also secretly building a whole new client, new engine behind our backs! The best thing about it that we are able to see the change that were made in 1.0, the storyline that lead to the epic ending of the server shutting down. And long story short. Here we are now.. entering the new age of A Realm Reborn. xD
~: Frequent Asked Questions :~
Is this game Subscription base or Free to Play or Buy to Play?
- This game is using the Subscription base where you have to pay monthly to pay.
*For information on the rates of Subscription please read below.
Is this game Region Lock?
- No, this game is not region lock, you can buy any version of the game and still play in any servers that they offer.
- However, when it comes to Accounts, say if you bought EU version of the game, you will have to register an EU account instead.
There is a PS3 version & PC version?
- Yes, both PS3 & PC players are playing in the same server, the unique Final Fantasy MMO is that they aim for True Cross Platform.
If i want to play on both platform do i need to purchase both?
- Yes, you will be required to purchase both version of the game and link both registration code to your Square Enix Account Management under the same Final Fantasy XIV service Account (More explaination about Square Enix Account Management & Service Account below).
Where do i buy the game?
Most recommended is buying it from greenmangaming.com for Digital Download, while for physical boxes thou may not have pre-ordered bonus, you may try asking Qishan, Impulse Megastore, HeavyArm & CK Multimedia System. Other way is by Amazon.co.uk, Zavvi.com or Play-Asia.com. Another Digital Download thou i find it expensive, is offgamers.com
Which version do you recommend to buy?
I really recommend you EU version, why? because of Malaysia is under the service of EU Region, getting NA(US) version is very hard, and often very expensive to get unless underground connection, also you may face problem in future when you want to buy expansion and or policy change where the NA region does not accept our Credit Card/Debit Card.
But.. don't paying in EU region is expansive?

Other Question about Community
The Oceania/SEA community will be most prominent in Japanese servers. It has been long decided that Masamune & Tonberry will be the home for such occasions.
Why two servers? because Masamune is heavily a lot of 1.0 players be it new character created or otherwise old farts like me staying in Masamune.
Tonberry is for fresh starters.
But if you are one of those odd balls that play during NA prime time (Afternoon time that is) Behemoth & Sargatanas should be the best to get to see Oceania/SEA players as well..
Below are my opinion thou it still yours to decide.
Leveling have been made super easy to progress that you wont be felt left out so much.
- Pros of Legacy Server (Where you will see people who have already made progression much up to even max level)
- Economy which are much stable, as there will be more supplies than demands
- All of 1.0 Players gils are denoted by 1 zero. (Eg. my gils in 1.0 server is 1million, in ARR is 100k gil now).
- Knowledgeable Veterans who actually are more friendlier than other MMOs community you've met on other MMOs.
- Not every Legacy/1.0 Players are level 50. Many are still leveling.
- Have veterans to help newbies. Unless jerks

- Will mostly be the loyal fans of the games. Even if the game doesn't garner enough people on new server, legacy servers community will stay strong because of Loyalist.
- Cons of Legacy Server
- Markets are very competitive.
- Most supply will be in Higher Tier, Lowbies will probably have small problems.
- For the hardcores would or might not be able to attend the 1st in Servers.
- Legacy Players (not all 1.0 players are Legacy) got nifty forever discount.
- Goobbue Mount may not be obtainable.
- Pros of New World Server
- All players starting in same field
- Able to get First in server achievement (but of course if you're hardcore enough).
- Most are on the same level of knowledge. They might be some from 1.0 who are restarting a new.
- Market is zero
- Cons of New World Server
- Market are still competitive but at a lower rate than Legacy Server.
- Demand is too high, supply is low.
- Might be more slow than Legacy Server since everyone are still leveling up.
- If the hype of the game doesn't meet expectation, the server you on may dwindle slowly.
