~: Frequent Asked Questions :~

Is this game Subscription base or Free to Play or Buy to Play?

- This game is using the Subscription base where you have to pay monthly to pay.
*For information on the rates of Subscription please read below.

Is this game Region Lock?

- No, this game is not region lock, you can buy any version of the game and still play in any servers that they offer.
- However, when it comes to Accounts, say if you bought EU version of the game, you will have to register an EU account instead. Which means if you want to play on all platforms (PC, PS3 & PS4) All version need to be the same region even your account & PSN.

There is a PS3/PS4 version & PC version?

- Yes, both PS3/PS4 & PC players are playing in the same server, the unique Final Fantasy MMO is that they aim for True Cross Platform.

If i want to play on both or all platform do i need to purchase all?

- Yes, you will be required to purchase all version of the game and link all registration code to your Square Enix Account Management under the same Final Fantasy XIV service Account (More explanation about Square Enix Account Management & Service Account below).

Where do i buy the game?

Can buy via Amazon, Offgamers or your local store that sells them.

Which version do you recommend to buy?

I really recommend you EU version, why? because of Malaysia is under the service of EU Region, getting NA(US) version is very hard, and often very expensive to get unless underground connection, also you may face problem in future when you want to buy expansion and or policy change where the NA region does not accept our Credit Card/Debit Card.

As of now, if you can't find physical box/cd anywhere in your local retailer or in lowyat garage; below are the two website you can get just the Game Key.

https://www.seagm.com/

http://www.offgamers.com/

But.. don't paying in EU region is expansive?

Yes, is true, i wont lie, but for safety sake and experience from my self and others, better take EU version unless you frequent back and forth between US and MY, this is recommended for your credit card issues, perhaps.

Introduction to Armoury System
In the Armoury System, changing your adventuring style—or class—is as simple as changing what you hold in your hand.

Each class is capable of performing unique actions which are learned as you gain experience and your level rises. Furthermore, achieving a certain level of mastery in multiple classes will unlock jobs, which feature even greater specialization.

Classes are suited to those who desire versatility, as they allow the use of actions that belong to other disciplines. In contrast, jobs grant access to exclusive actions and are ideal for situations that demand well-defined roles. Which fighting style you adopt is entirely up to you.

Classes System
Eorzea is home to myriad disciplines─professions that adventurers can take up. So as to be better prepared to brave the wilds, all adventurers begin their journey as either a Disciple of War—a master of arms who lives for the call of battle—or a Disciple of Magic—an erudite researcher of all things esoteric.

Experienced adventurers can take up other martial classes to diversify their skills. If you seek more peaceful pursuits, you may consider becoming a Disciple of the Land—one who gathers and harvests Eorzea’s natural resources—or a Disciple of the Hand—one who uses these resources to craft wares and turn a profit.

Jobs System
Jobs refer to those martial paths that thrived in former times but have since fallen into disuse. Recent developments, however, have occasioned something of a revival in their popularity.

By achieving sufficient mastery in a certain class, adventurers will be able to begin undertaking the mantle of a related job. For instance, gladiators may rise up as paladins, stout swordsmen who shield comrades from harm; thaumaturges may aspire to become black mages, masters of offensive magic; while conjurers may find a new calling as white mages, masters of healing.

The foremost appeal of jobs is the unparalleled degree of specialization they offer. Their potential is best realized in party situations, where having well-defined roles is the key to success. There can be no doubt that jobs shine the brightest in the company of others.

I think after playing the game and researched those hardcore pro-gamers can really make their own guide better than just using other website's guide. Just my opinion.

Bro I'm writing this guide with more descriptions. You can update in your newbie playbook. I'm writing this while my memory still fresh.

Guide to registering ff14 free trial for Malaysians.
1) a few things to know: square Enix had thier own account which you must register for. This is required to register your free trial. Square Enix account is a parent account that encompasses all square products.
2) there is something else called mog Station that is the ff14 account management. This one deals with ff14 only and you won't need this for free trial. You will however need this for paid subscription management.
3)first register for square Enix account, select EU-UK. I had a problem when I registered that nothing happened at first. No email confirmation etc. But it activated after about 30mins. This110
10 is rare nowadays because registration usually instant. Just take note in case you didn't get any confirmation.

4)after the square Enix account is created, register the free trial at the website. Again select EU-UK because Malaysia is not available in the list.
5)at this point 2 things can happen:
A) you have no issues. In this case you will get an email with link to download the client. Just follow the instructions. Some things to note: the trial installer is different from the full version installer. This installer will not ask you for a game code. When you first install you need to give it some time. For some reason developers never put a progress bar, but it is actually downloading some essential files. If you immediately try to run the shortcut nothing will happen. But after a while it will be OK.

B)or you can get an error code i2501. This is a catch all error code for suspicious activity. It is common for malaysian. If this happens you need to contact customer support to clear this flag on your ip. Or you can try to complete the registration with your phone data. Somehow telco data doesn't raise a flag. Make sure you're not connected to WiFi on your phone. After registering, just follow the email to complete the game installation.

No, you cannot use your old account as your account is NA but your game is EU version, the game code is region locked. Go to create an EU account for your game.

Yes, you do not need to buy ARR because all 1.0 players are getting free ARR copies.

Unless u were thinking of the early access is different story but again you will need to get NA pre order code instead if you are using NA account.

If you are a 1.0 Normal Edition, there is only 2 ways to get CE attach to your 1.0 account.

Get a PS3 CE.

or

Wait for SE to offer digital upgrade to CE.

You cannot put a PC ARR CE on your 1.0 Acct.

>< Since i have not complete the guide yet, i'll answer you here

you can buy from Local Retailer shops like Impulse & HeavyArms, Qisahn, and many more once i got the list i'll list em here.

Server will be either Tonberry or Masamune, you can check the v9 1st page about it.

Is a JP server, but this two server is the largest Englsih Speaking server, have majority of the Oceania/SEA players. smile.gif

Game is region free, just the Account & Subscription/payment is region Lock, meaning that if you bought R2/EU version your account must be EU version, and Expansion also EU version.

Once you buy the game be it NA/EU/JP, you can choose any server NA/EU or JP.
