Actually can understand the frustration for NA/EU players.
The downtime so bad there and JP server downtime so minimal.

It's like saying JP server they put more effort and the rest they just let it run on it own course.

What's the point to hype up the game to such extreme and bring utter dissapoinment for players when the game is already consider on official launch stage.

Most SE fans have been persuaded to come back again in this 2.0. But they couldnt maintain the most staple condition of the game which is the server downtime. This is not f2p game somemore. Many players are paying for LE and 3mths monthly in advance too.

So there's no reason for them to slack on such matters. This is not a china or taiwan game server too. This is under japan. Many have high expectation for the game.

Yea problems cant be magically solve with fingers but money my friend. FF14 has been hosted on a very low allocated bandwidth server. If not how to explain their low capacity for the massive players. When they handled out those copies, they should know the consequences of how many players will be joining.
They did this back in 1.0 ff14 too. And this was also during official launch. Untill the players population started to shrunk.

Ya .. i do agree that what they did was very wrong. Westerners and Asians are both educate on a different direction. Westerners demanded answers immediately if a problem arise. Asian always have time to negotiate when problem arise and always ask others to put their feelings in other people's shoe.

Though this same story goes for everyone, one day u pay over 99USD for the game.U were back from work/study, u log in and get a bunch of rojak errors. These numbers of course makes no sense to you and neither do you want to troubleshoot these over google. Feeling frustrated over 2hrs u cant login. U decide to wait then. When u finally get to login, u were greeted by noticeable lag throughout your gameplay. It's already 9pm and it's bedtime for you soon. Well no choice u have to logout at 10pm soon. U replied calmly, SE will do something about this.
Unforunately 3rd day onwards, same shyt happen. SE finds that too many complaints on their doorstep. No more Online chat support.
Of course they'll tell u that problem will be solve "soon". How do you feel?
I believe if this goes dangling for a month, people would have transform themselves into a Hulk already.

Tunneling depends on where u tunnel from. Let's say u tunnel to US/Europe and have it tunnel back to malaysia. U'll see it lagging badly.
Our connections to NA/EU isnt that good either, due to our bad backbone. Especially tunneling from US/Europe to Japan. If you can get directly Japan VPN, it's definitely be alot better. Since you are routing directly towards Japan. Though it's not cheap for VPN Japan.

VPN on the other hand works flawlessly for torrents. Because tm likes to do alot of filtering on p2p. So without filtering, it's running on a speed it's intended to.

BolehVPN had most of their server on NA and Europe regions. They do have a hongkong server but.. i think it was removed later on.
Most VPN we have in LYN are based on NA and Europe regions.

Please dont scare people's dream to be an IT guy/technician. There are alot of fun things to be in the IT line. Every job has its difficulties.

From what you quoted back up there. We could only assume what's what the writer assume on. He's probably working on the backend side. But every company uses their own structures for mmo. It might not be on the same terms he wrote on.

The characters,combat,chat,instance,dispatch,login and the rest servers were structured very smiliar to how networkings reference OSI layers.

Each of these server do have other things to coordinate with. We could only also assumed that due to SE loss over 1.0, they only rebuilt the sprites, the game designs and restructure the battle system. But they salvage back the old game servers that managed our ff14 back in 1.0. They refuse to spend and waste anymore money afraid that their bets might bring them worse results.
It's like Old Levin AE86 engine restructed and rebranded with a new casing. Of course it's overhauled and maintained before selling it out.

If this is the case, 3hrs wont be sufficient. They're just patching a broken pipe instead of replacing a new one.

Here comes clicking fest. 3hrs maintenance and still players have to enjoy ff14 by going through this clicking fest opening ceremony.

Someone back a few threads is using the ff14 wireless router.
Just to check does it have a RJ11 input to plug in the telephone line for ADSL connection? Or it requires a 3G pendrive thingy to connect to 3G internet?

Thought of getting this modem because i had one more parcel to forward from japan to here.
But after looking at the picture.. i can drop this idea. It's just like those 3G huawei 3g router.
If u need to use Adsl, u need to buy another adsl modem router to connect to the WAN port which is blue in color.
Guess i'll just get the ff14 guide book.. though it's 319pages.. wonder how heavy it is T.T....

SE will always be on schedule to receive payment. But when dealing with services downtime and problems, they will rarely compensate anything to players. Unless the problem is beyond hope and they had lose more than half of the players population, then they'll quickly respond.

I seems to be puzzled by this mount.. Is it hovering or is it walking on land? If it is hovering, we dont need to jump and it can move over bumps so that we dont need to hit the space bar.

Same shyt.. 1017. Instead of better connection, now it's worse than before.
No more infinity spam on login in your character.
After some tries, it'll respond server error and kick you out of the client.
Sometimes, after a few tries, character missing lol.. and JPN server list missing.
If not it just hang on the full of stars and hope for you to wait like hell.

They are going in hot water soon. Previously 1.0 all got very pissed. Now with this shyt, u'll expect how many curses and swears swimming across the social/online media about the bad launches of ff14.
People are already paying money for the service now.
