tried umobile prepaid. so far i can say the coverage is good in klang valley. what suprise me is umobile 3g signal at basement car parks like sunway pyramid, midvalley , 1utama/avenue able to get full bar/line vs maxis mostly on edge. at high rise building my maxis will be on edge but umobile still maintain Hsdpa. however the ping for umobile is very high (100-300) but speed can get 2-3.5mbps. I would say its quite suprising to see umobile covered most parts and they are just in the market few years only. laugh.gif

yeah, the signal has improved a lot........ it used to suck in rural places but it is getting better and better at both town and rural places icon_rolleyes.gif

btw, yeah, the ping is higher, and I think that is because of the lack of peering and mobile network does have a higher latency than wired network

Twin tower klcc 50+ floor received Umobile signal too. Much much better than digi (where I can't even browse a page).

if that is the case, try and use U Mobile 2g(which is utilizing Maxis's network) and see if it works(if it doesn't then I think probably only Celcom will probably work at there? sweat.gif )

There's still a lot of things that needs to be improved.

I can see there are more and more agents and mobile phone shops selling top up and such after the last time I posted here.

That is great improvement. Plus, they have come in to Sabah and doing really well at the moment. I just hope that they have an official umobile store so we can replace the simcard etc. more conveniently.

uMobile, if you are reading this post, please consider opening a umobile store in Kota Kinabalu Sabah.

Which settings do I need to change (prepaid)? And when I get the message about roaming, choose local or roaming? I thought it was auto-select?

It would be dependent on your phone. sweat.gif
and it would be best to disable the international roaming to prevent you from being choked laugh.gif

I think that you're better off asking it at https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2132078/+2280 as I am not particularly sure about it.

Come back when you and your gf have mnp~ed to U Mobile icon_rolleyes.gif

No need to separate, but both of the umobile accounts will be her name. U also not possible to change the account name. But in U will be two separate accounts (the sub plan in U is totally stupid and not worth it).

Better to split first if the name on the account is a problem to you. I didn't, so my wife and I both account is under my name now.

Of course, the difference between wife and gf is.... you can fill in the blank la =)

Dear peeps.

I just want to ask, is UMobile's 3G coverage in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, any good?
Because I will be posted to HUSM to work next month, and I am worried about getting crappy connections.

Any UMobile user here currently residing there can answer?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
you no need to separate the account as you can direct port in to U Mobile.
so you need use her name to do the registration.

Exactly. It's even faster than DiGi postpaid in most areas. Don't mention if DiGi prepaid, even slower. They earn so much money still don't wnt to improve their services. Damn you DiGi. I wonder why you guys still fall for DiGi's trap. They suck in every way u can think of. If you think their phones are offered cheap, you are wrong! The upfront payment kaw kaw so much you can buy a new phone outside without any contract.

Pair it with uMobile prepaid and you get superb value. No contract some more.
