Twin tower klcc 50+ floor received Umobile signal too. Much much better than digi (where I can't even browse a page).

I've still got problems every weekend late evenings Public Bank corner area. Completely hung or even no bars.

if that is the case, try and use U Mobile 2g(which is utilizing Maxis's network) and see if it works(if it doesn't then I think probably only Celcom will probably work at there?  sweat.gif )

Which settings do I need to change (prepaid)? And when I get the message about roaming, choose local or roaming? I thought it was auto-select?

How many contacts can be stored on the SIM?

The old plan has been also changed to 2x validity
U mobile seems need more money
*
Thinking old validity still applied to former plans, I was going to do another year's worth at 3X but luckily checked with RM10 -- only 20 days. RM180 too much balance for me, esp no intl roaming. TTalk only RM38, XOX auto free 28 months, and U-Mob dead spots when I need it most.

Looks like got to jump ship again.

Actually you can mnp to another telco with active validity for 1 month and 3 month passive ,so if only receiving calls, just mnp to another telco every 3 months,  super low cost haha,

Forgot to tell that Friendi just make call can extend validity already
*
Aren't there all kinds of service charges along the way? XOX gives 28 months right from mnp.

Another problem with U-Mob, I think a big jump in one-off data rates. It wasn't always 0.20/mb was it?
the 0.05 with TTalk whatever 2G 3G speed is enough for my odd daily check when I don't have wifi, and I seldom finish the 0.88 for 24 hrs package.

Last I looked at Tron, it was hard to get. Need to update myself all over again. Seems U-Mob becoming as untrustworthy as the previous generation of telcos.

XOX is nice for the 28 months, but after that then  sweat.gif
It used to be 0.05/mb if not mistaken.

Tron is hard to get as in?

Where?

Not like most, for sale in any and every convenience store.

Sorry, probably a very old and basic question but I can't find the answer:

Is the active period the same as number validity for U-Mob? Eg load $10 can use it 20 days then how long before number dies?

PS: Looks like next post is the answer. Most likely 60 days after last top up?

FYI (easier to understand if you read it "ONLY the following can MNP:")

"Currently all mobile operators except DiGi, SpeakOutWireless,
Happy, Clixter and other DiGi Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) are
not able to port over to Tron at the moment."

U-M, you've changed; can't take it. I've run off with Tunetalk. Affair was fun while it lasted, bye!

any reasons of why did you "mnp"ed to tunetalk?
*
Free MNP and special number to instantly reach MNP staff. Live text chat customer service really good. TT has international roaming and low rates for internet, although low speed GPRS/Edge but ok for occasional messaging on the fly. I don't even finish the 0.88 sen 24 hr 50MB. 0.05 sen per linkup still cheap even if it disconnects a few times.
TT connects easily in some KL CBD areas where U-M no signal or too congested.

U-Mob's reduction of validity and grace period for long time prepaid users seems like they want to dump us anyway.

Topped up TT Rm50 to get ready, got 20 bonus and validity extension. Will do Rm38 for 365 day plan near the end of this new validity.

agreeable. the new plan is making the users to use u mobile as their primary number instead of secondary.
*
Does it work? My primary line is going from U-M to TT. Some managements are thinking immediate cash flow from top ups and subscriptions but might not foresee the total of seasonal unplanned spending I do during the year(s) I keep the prepaid line. It is usually far more than an Rm18 data shot every month.
