i also got a shure IEM, also some soundmagic one along with the Razer M100 and Moray+.
i use the Razer M100 the most tongue.gif

i would be curious to get the Hammerhead.
whether it will dislodge the M100 remains to be seen...tho chances look slim seeing as it has a Y-cord.

cant remember what shure i got, so long never use.
its more of a monitor, with a bigger mid-range peak which when using the phone's limited EQ is hard to balance.
for the rock/metal stuff, M100 is enough...plus it has a J-cord which makes walking around with it easier.

which will be better? i use more of a grip between claw and palm type.

and what about the Lachesis 5600? still worth to get? if there's stock,

I'm used to my Lachesis shape, until i switched to the Diablo3 Steelseries mouse(which palm did not rest well on the palm rest area of he mouse ) I have quite a big hand.
is the Taipan anywhere close to the Lachesis feel?

lol.
I nvr use lachesis b4 it seems you're used to ambidextrous mouse shape. DA is for right handed ppl. taipan is ambidextrous. I currently owned DA and abyssus, the down side of abyssus is the mouse cord is not braided and slightly small for big hand ppl.

heavyarm ss15 got a lot of test set if you stay at Subang la. SPec doesnt matter unless you're really gonna use high dpi. since you play fps i doubt u will use any setting more than 1000dpi for accuracy. but having a better senser means yr accuracy is much better compare to others mouse sensor. like steelseries the kana the sensor is really screw up at 1600dpi got a lot of jitter.

I dont think so. ( I am running a custom built Win 7 Pro 64-bit PC and my Razer Lachesis likes to stop working mid-game. The lights stay on, it just becomes unresponsive. I pause the game, unplug the mouse, and plug it back in, and it works fine again. It can work good for upwards of a few months, or it could work for a couple hours. I have tried all the drivers and software on the Razer site for the Razer Lachesis 5600 I believe, and I don't know what I should do) but a number of review says is a good mouse. Since you're paying for it go do more research as you know i dont owned this mouse so cant give much comment.

Taipan is a little flat and small for my hands.
In the other hand, i like DA because of it's ergonomic design and big size, not like Taipan.

i believe RM denotes Ringgit Malaysia tongue.gif

they're about RM30-40 more over the Moray / Moray+...which is actually pretty fine already.
soundwise i seriously doubt going to hear that big a difference...hope construction quality is ok tho.
anyway i think dealers should have them in stock within 1 week or so.

i dont like using headset to answer calls, prefer have phone to my ear or use bluetooth.
and for games, i prefer normal headset.

this one is geared more towards ppl who game on laptops and want to carry around a decent headset without taking up space.

even my moray+ i dont use on my handphone...

anyway, i just check razerstore...hammerhead pro either sold out or lack of stock...cos says next shipment 4-6 weeks.

oh yea, hammerhead pro inline remote has no volume control doh.gif

Really!?
The Po version doesn't comes with volume control?
WTH doh.gif
*
the moray+ also didnt have, but that came out 4yrs ago which is an eternity.
maybe they think no need volume control, but quite a few reviews already criticizing it for not having one.

also the case for the hammerhead abit kedekut.
its very cramped, the m100 / moray case imo was better.

see la, tmr if i not lazy to set up gear then i take some pics.

the build is better than the stock x360 controller.
and the buttons feels much better but the travel is a bit short. It takes some getting used to.
the trigger button underneath it is very useful, some ppl complaint its not comfy, but i like it.
so yeah i love it.
I used it on my PC, though.

the thing that im worried about is the quality.
I bought 3 Onza and within three months, one got left trigger broken, one got right analog stick broken and one got both broken. sweat.gif .. I searched on the internet, and it seems that there are a lot of people complaining their Onza have problems.
Sure we can RMA, but it is troublesome and we have to wait..

hopefully, Razer has fixed all of Onza's liability on Sabertooth.

if i'm going to choose a razer headset now, it'll be the tiamat 2.2 cos the specs say this - Replaceable soft-touch leatherette ear cushions.
those 2 u mention doesnt say can be replaced.
of cos the stupid part so far is that razer doesnt yet sell the replaceable ear cushions for it...

The ear cushion is still working fine for me so I wouldn't know. Probably will change before the problem comes up. Any headset you have in mind?

It seems that Razer website states BWU Stealth 2013 cheaper than BWU 2013 which is RM429 and RM439 respectively while retail price here BWU Stealth 2013 is more expensive than BWU 2013 which is RM489 and RM439 respectively. Hmmm shocking.gif

Yeah I've been doing some look around. Seems like they don't produce 2012 version anymore. The different only the backlit. 2012 blue and 2013 is green.

Okay guys, about my budget first of all... I'm currently in the middle of saving money. I have around RM170 right now and above, and of course it is still growing. I'm just another typical Malaysian kid undergoing exams, saving money, you know... Then, planning on buying some gaming products after the exams during the holidays. One of the products that I prefer the most is Razer, of course. Based on my calculations, I think I'll be having around RM270 to RM300+ and above by the time. For now, the products I am aiming for are Razer Hammerhead Pro/Hammerhead and Razer Arctosa. These are the products that I find it the cheapest of all among the ones I like most. Just a newbie here looking for suggestions and opinions from the professionals. So, if you had any info to provide it will be very much appreciated and thank you.

By the way, I hope someone could also tell me the difference of Razer Hammerhead and Razer Hammerhead Pro. I want it sort of a Razer Hammerhead versus Razer Hammerhead Pro review of something similar, thank you very much!

One last thing to confirm, I heard that Razer Arctosa doesn't come with extra USB port... Is that true? If it is, then Razer Arctosa is really off from the list.

if budget concern/maximum budget.

hh vs hh pro , their major dif are the mic which pro package come with audio splitter for older version of laptop too .
imo , if u r looking for more performance , suggest you take the electra . price vs performance. anyhow , if u feel like gettin hh for maximum portability , go for it since ur smartphone will use phone as mic and ur headset as speaker same goes to laptop unless desktop .

for keyboard , yes arctosa dint come with usb prot , u cant get a usb-enabled keyboard with that price . even the blackwidow tournament edition . but the usb port is not the main concern , is not like u cant live without it , arctosa is the only choice for u with ur price range . what best for arctosa is the design/anti-ghosting/macro programmable but the bad things is , its abit flat aka chic-like , regular gamer would understand the keystroke feeling.

if im you , i would take HH(non pro) and arctosa . alternate choice , electra and arctosa biggrin.gif

ohya , cm storm recently launch a new product which is devastator keyboard+mouse combo only at rm150
best thing is , alot multimedia keys with backligthing drool.gif .

Hammerhead Pro comes with mic. If you don't use mic, take Hammerhead. Here's some of the keyboard list that I think is affordable :

Razer Arctosa = RM179
Roccat Arvo Compact = RM169
CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle = RM159 (Mouse + Keyboard)

But if you ever think of getting a mechanical keyboard, just in case you save a lot, these would be my recommendation :

Non-backlit:

Rosewill

RK-9000 (Mx Blue) = RM269
RK-9000BL (Mx Black) = RM269
RK-9000RE (Mx Red) = RM269
RK-9000BR (Mx Brown) = RM269

Razer BlackWidow Tornament Edition (Mx Blue) = RM279

Backlit:

CM Storm QuickFire TK Full Blue LED (Mx Blue) = RM299
CM Storm QuickFire Pro Partial Red LED (MX Black) = RM289
CM Storm QuickFire Pro Partial Red LED (MX Blue) = RM289

Call me crazy but who knows what you end up wanting biggrin.gif

WASD / spacebar all double / triple tapping, and sometimes in-game just doesnt respond...have to re-hit the key...normal typing is ok most of the time.
plus stupid SS cannot replace the keys, and lazy to find someone here to mod and replace for me.

the right side key holder for the spacebar also loose abit.
and gaming usually hit spacebar more towards the left side, so sometimes the right side spacebar also fly up...zzz.

the holder for the tab / capslock key also loose.

obvious fail is fail.
50 million / 2yrs = 68,493 key strokes / day.
give chance la, make it 3yrs = 45,662 key strokes / day.
if 1 day use 8hrs = 5707 key strokes / hour = 95 key strokes / min.

as if i got better things to do than continuously type 1 key everyday for 2yrs, ignoring every single other letter in the alphabet.

Alright, thank you very much for the suggestions and all. To talk about Razer Hammerhead, I actually find myself to prefer Razer Hammerhead Pro more. Maybe it's because of the mic functionality and portability cool.gif. About the keyboard and mouse combo, I find it amazing with such price. I think I will go for that for now and to be honest... I prefer keyboards with mechanical keys and back lighting actually because of the sound it makes when you type and of course, the lights patterns.

QUOTE(areleeza8 @ Sep 1 2013, 08:22 AM)

Yeah! What you suggested are all some pretty cool badass stuff. I like it really much. Plus, for your information. I saw Razer Arctosa selling for RM169 pretty much everywhere right now. As I mentioned earlier, I prefer mechanical keys and back lighting more for now. So, any more suggestions? And once again, thank you very much for the help.

He sell Arctosa at RM149 only. If you want more suggestion I'm afraid you have to make your budget a bit higher. Also, the price of the keyboard I state I only refer from Heavyarm. It may vary on the seller. Do more search and I believe you can get a better price. biggrin.gif

for membrane , better just go with the logitech g105 at rm125. It's cheaper and the build quality as you know from logitech they do make their product really well.

I have the blackwidow ultimate 2013 and it's pretty good (blue cherry mx switch), though the price is a bit expensive. I'm having 2nd thoughts on buying the k95 instead. red switches hmm.gif

I don't know much. One thing I know is that mech kb lasts longer because they have like 50 millions keystroke and it suppose to be good because you press a lot when you play games.

If you like the BW Ultimate then you probably have to go for blue switches. If not, go to store nearby to try different switches that suit your liking. Then you can start searching with your price point.

Hands on is better because it easier to find something you like by actually pressing they keys and try typing a bit. I find myself liking the brown one. But after a long time I love my BWU13 already.

if the person live far from KL or Selangor, then it's hard for them to try one by one.

like myself. i have at least buy and try different mecha kb to find the suitable board for myself. i used to own blue, black and now brown board.

Apparently I don't have a space at all for a secondary keyboard. I'm thinking of bringing the Stealth one to the office because it is less noisy than the blue switch. Is that crazy? rclxub.gif

who said it's crazy to bring your own mecha KB to work? some people that in Mecha KB Club bringing their own mecha KB to work place.

maybe won't recommend blue switches to work place. brown, red or black switches are pretty fine for work. but depends on your work mate or boss la brows.gif

Nah I would be more comfortable avoiding that than trying. I mean who knows what other think about you on the inside right? I don't want to take a chance since me and my colleagues have a good happy relationship. Don't want to mess with that. smile.gif

Thanks for the review. I'm quite interested with Hammerhead too. Maybe someday though. Go for the BW Tournament edition then. Do you play mmo game? If not and you really don't use that many buttons on a mouse, it's best you get another mouse. Probably just a phase you're going through. Believe me I've been there before. doh.gif

Just try see the feedback from the customer. If nothing's wrong, then why should be worried? I got my Sabertooth for RM200 which is way too cheap than the SRP. Can use until now without any single problem. smile.gif

Have the DA13 for a week now. Pretty good compare to the previous 3.5G DA. Loving that new surface texture, sadly still no on-board memory.

hi razer fans. is the nostromo a worthy buy? any users here? because i see many ppl selling off their nostromo is it because of something bad? how does it perform compared to the logitech G13? the orbweaver looks nice with the number keys on top of the WASD but it is kinda out of my budget for the moment. orbweaver still goes for RM399 right?

oh and can we still unscrew the thumbstick for the dpad only?

DA really best mouse that I have used. Just bought a pair of Hammerhead and realized that I have a boatload of Razer items now without being a fan. Those Hammerhead are really good for it size but I still miss my old Orca which had a broken audio jack. Anyone know where can you fix a broken old headphone out of warranty?

Yeah. Got to know first what kind of keyboard you are looking for. As far as the keys goes, all Razer's mk is blue unless it's the BWU Stealth 2013 which is brown. smile.gif

nope just tested it at Viewnet, really nice feel and you can certainly felt the bump instead of the click. The layout out is pretty much the same with the BWU. smile.gif

The red and black switches aren't bad either especially the Steelseries 6gv2.

Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 uses Cherry MX Blue switches, distinctive for their "clicky" sound, while the Stealth version uses Cherry MX Brown. You can read some real superb info here from our own LYN keyboard enthusiasts. smile.gif For me personally, I prefer Cherry Blue switches as I type and also game a lot, so the "clicky sound" is definitely a plus point for me. biggrin.gif I nearly wanted to get the Ultimate 2013, but I finally settled for the cheaper CM Storm Trigger which is nearly RM80 cheaper. sweat.gif But too bad it can't match with my DA 2013 (red vs. green lighting). tongue.gif And yes, the DA 2013 is indeed the best mouse that I've owned and used. thumbup.gif

its all preference.
the grand daddy of the razer speed edition can be considered the everglide dktmat, aka the signature mat of destrukt - a FPS player.
from that gave birth to razer mantis and now goliathus.
the control version should have come about due to the offering of it on the ExactMat.

tbh while the shape feels nice, the switches are a little hard and the sensor is quite bad sweat.gif . just 4 dpi steps and tracks badly at 1600 and 3200 dpi. they've resolved both of these issues with the new kana v2 smile.gif

That's enlightening. tongue.gif Thought of trying it out, since it comes with a nice bundle. The default DPI steps are 400-800-1600-3200 right? This is done by clicking the DPI button right? Without any softwares?

default DPI's are those that you stated. it has software but all it does is to assign macros. you can only switch between 2 DPI levels according to what you have assigned in the software. one thing i'm sad about is that DPI values are fixed and can't be altered even with software cry.gif

Meaning if we install the software, and then set the DPI to e.g 800 - 1600 DPI, I can only switch between these 2 settings via the DPI button? Wah, if the DPI are fixed and can't change other than the pre-defined settings, then it's definitely a minus point for me. sad.gif

Please refer to http://www.razerzone.com/warranty#question7

Generally, normal wear and tear is not covered by any warranty. It's item (i) under Exclusions and Limitations.

I have a Razer Orochi and its original rubber-like top coat has already lightly worn away in a couple of weeks. My Orochi is now 3 years old and the top coat is all gone. I kinda like how it feels now.

But I wish Razer releases an original cover for the Orochi, much like what they did for the Black Chrome cover.

LOL, really.

It would be like returning a car to Proton because the tyres got worn out from all the driving you did. They'd probably laugh at you.

Seriously, you'll be wasting your time. That's why the terms of use are provided to you in the box when you purchase something. Unless the mouse was defective, they wouldn't waste a breath on you.

Is it bad customer service? Nope. They're just honoring the contract that you effectively agreed to when you opened the box.

anything rubber coated will eventually wear off smile.gif
though i like the new hard plastic material better, can't stand rubber coating things having greasy look after some usage.

unfortunately no hard plastic mouses.
even DA BE has some hard coating / paint on it, and mine has already worn off around the logo area from my palm rubbing on it too much.

unfortunately no hard plastic mouses.
even DA BE has some hard coating / paint on it, and mine has already worn off around the logo area from my palm rubbing on it too much.

DA 2013 is hard plastic, no? or I'm wrong hmm.gif

still has some sort of coating on it, but not rubber.
if not wrong, the only razer mouses now without coating should be the mirror edition abyssus / orochi.
even that one also i guess still has some clear coat to make it gloss...

My own problem is that I don't have any idea it needs a dedicated sound card for 7.1 surround sound. After I bought one, I have a problem of turning the microphone on. After I sell it to one of forumer here, he doesn't complaint. So maybe the fault is at me not knowing the setting whatsoever. Buzzing and hissing problem should be able to solve by changing the usb connector to another usb port. Rather than that, I think the surround sound did great and maybe it would have been better if I know more about sound and setting it to my own preferences. The stretch pad also works nicely to fit any size of head. Weight? Okay for me. icon_rolleyes.gif

That I'm not sure. Just try. Usually when I play music or games or movies the buzzes or hisses will stop. The rest of the times I'll take the Tiamat out of my head. whistling.gif

The "breathing" effect of the DA2013 is always on, once you choose to switch on the LEDs for the logo. There isn't a way to make it permanently on at all times. smile.gif

There isn't too much difference between them, the 3.5G has smooth plastic finish, while the 2013 has a rougher (but still smooth) texture on it. There is also a grippy rubber where your thumb goes, while on the 3.5G its just smooth plastic. The higher DPI is pointless IMO, 6400dpi is way too high to be useful, I have stuck with 1600dpi on both mice and notice no difference.

DA 2013 is green led, increased DPI, rubberized grip

Anyone using this?? Would you recommend this earphones??

sound ah...its good enough for me if i use for short travels.
just slack that its a Y-cord and not J.
but one good thing is the right earpiece has a small tactile bump on it, so u can feel which is left or right in complete darkness.

not just that I think the hard surface is overprice plus easy worn out like SS hard surface pads under heavy usage.

hey guys, i wanna ask that i received a free DeathAdder while purchasing an Alienware through dell online and the thing is, the mouse is not working on the day i received and i called dell they said they're not in charge of the warranty as its from the 3rd party which they are in charge of Razer warranty.

They asked me to contact Razer Support and i did and Razer asked me to go a reseller shop and from the Map provided, I saw MCS Guru Tech in MV is an authorized Razer reseller so is it possible to send it through there? Has anyone been through this?

razer asked you to go which shop?
thats pretty stupid of dell, since they provided the free mouse, they should help handle warranty also on behalf of any 3rd party.
go post on dell facebook complaining tongue.gif

Exactly I actually contacted the agent that followed up my purchase but he did ask me to direct this issue to their technical department and I did but they gave me razer support website which they will help with my issue but ended up to no avail but to ask resellers here. Haih somemore all the stores around only accept if only I purchased the product from them.

Guess ill just try to contact through the number they provided.

okay guys, deathadder is just superb along with nostromo.
lycosa is cool but uhh, mine is glossy surface so .. finger prints and oily surface is kinda .. irritating.
problem is, it happen once that my lycosa is not giving any response at all but the light is still on and so I eject it and reconnect the usb back, it works well after that.
another thing is the media panel, it happens like once every 3 - 4 days. my songs will auto switch tracks and the led control is not giving any response.
help anyone ?

you're referring only to goliathus mousepad only right ?
if for goliathus, go for control edition for hard surface.

Yes, I'm referring to the goliathus mousepad.

I presumed urs is the speed edition? Feel comparison between speed vs control? I know speed is smoother but a lot of ppl been recommending speed over control. Maybe bcos control's surface is too harsh.

depends, I've tried both. I decide to go for control because speed surface is too speedy. what u wanna use for ? control surface is something like a hard cloth, I feel comfy with my hands on it scrolling through.

depends, I've tried both. I decide to go for control because speed surface is too speedy. what u wanna use for ? control surface is something like a hard cloth, I feel comfy with my hands on it scrolling through.
*
Ic ic.... For me, I use it for gaming + daily use only. Speed has a good balance in terms of glide and grip based on the razerzone's mousepad guide but I have to go try it out myself and c which one is better only. A lot of ppl been complaining about the control in terms of too hard to move their mouse. So, I guess I'll try it out at the IT store. I just want to know what's the input from ppl who actually used it currently. That's all. smile.gif

how's the nostromo performing? the only gripe is lack of "number" keys to switch weapons for FPS if you know what i mean. haha...the nostromo and the tartarus has similar profiles...so i am wondering.

Most likely battery problem. I got a mamba 4G previously. Also have the same problem but it only lasted 2 weeks. If not mistaken, u can claim warranty but u can only do it thru razerzone. I've read somewhere before in the site, as long as u have the retail receipt and warranty is valid, then u can claim it. Try emailing Razer about this and c what they say. smile.gif

Hello Sifus,

I'm a new Razer Deathadder Black owner. I want to share a quick review with you guys.

==

PROS
1. Comfortable for big hands.

2. Love the big buttons.

3. Best quality braided cable I've come across thus far. It's tough, yet supple.

CONS
1. The rubberised sides is actually pretty slippery. I used Scotch 3M magic tape on where my thumbs and ring finger makes contact for added grip. Razer recognised this and made DA2013 grippier.

2. Razer Synapses 2.0 is retarded. Every time I go to a CC, I have to download it in order to use my custom settings. I didn't know about this before I bought the DA.

3. No official Linux support. WTF. This means we can't use this with Steam OS when it comes out in January.

CONCLUSION:
I advise people to avoid any Razer product that requires Synapses 2.0 IF you primarily use those products in Cybercafes. You can check if the product has "legacy" drivers on Razer's support page.

==

EDIT

Just a quick note. After a few days with the Deathadder Black, I can confirm that this is the best mouse I've ever used since the original Microsoft Intellimouse which has served me between Mid-2001 and July 2013. Sidenote: For Rm45 bucks I spent on the MS Intellimouse, I guess it was well worth it.

It took my hand a few days to get used to the DA Black. I guess I needed to train the muscles in my fingers. Kinda like learning how to use a new kitchen knife. Now, it's incredibly comfortable for long hours - something which the sexier looking SS Kana could not provide me. That said, a lot of my friends with smaller hands prefer the Kana.

Just need to point this out - The LEGACY driver for the DA is just fine. But you can't switch profiles without it. It seems that the older Deathadders only remembers your LAST SETTING if you plug into another computer.

This is not a big deal, since I only play Dota 2 with it. Settings advice: Leave POLLING at 125hz aka 8ms.

No complaints thus far, except for the fact that Linux users are left high and dry. There are some complicated workarounds, but like I said, it is complicated. Hopefully Razer will do something about this before we get our Steambox.

1. yea, thats why i have a grip on my Black.
2. you can download the standalone driver for it, and is what i use cos i dont want to use synapse.
it may be older, or the same cos i have no idea what the latest driver is...but if its not broke then why bother updating.

The only issue with DA is the lack of 'on the fly' settings where you can just plug and play at anywhere using your 'preferred' settings. Without synapse, your DA's settings cannot be adjusted unlike other mice where you can trigger 'low' or 'high' settings tongue.gif

hey, wanna get a few confirmation before i do my final decision.

wanting to jump ship from logitech g700 to a simple DeathAdder 2013, since my old logitech starts registering crazy clicks on the right click, damn frustrated.

based on what i've seen on the forums, does the REFRESH version and the 2013 version same? and if i were to get the 2013 ones, any difference in design/packaging that i could spot to differentiate the 2013 and the old ones?

after some simple googling, i just know that the DPI on the 2013 goes up to 6400, so this might help to tell them apart?

If not mistaken, the Refresh is blue LED lit. The 2013 version is green LED lit. The outer packaging shows the razer logo on the center of the mouse in green color.

Refreshed version is blue LED, while 2013 have green LED.

Also Refreshed - 3600 dpi while 2013 - 6400 dpi

2013 is using 4G sensor while Refreshed is using 3.5G sensor

The surface of DA Blue, Black and 2013 are DIFFERENT. Check it out first. It is a deal breaker for some people.

I'm not entirely sure about the Blue, but I can tell you about Black and 2013.

Black has a non-shiny, but extremely smooth surface. The sides are rubberised, but kinda slippery. I used Scotch 3M Magic tape for a bit more grip.

2013 surface is not as smooth, but has rubberised sides with raised dots for more grip.

The last thing you need to consider is whether you can tolerate SYNAPSES 2.0. You can use legacy drivers for Blue and Black, but not 2013.

dont until stable, sometimes at early stage I always update when there is one, after i realise I just updated a not stable firmware which cause a lot of problems until they further release a new update to fix the old ones.
actually I dont even bother to update now unless there is some new features.

I thought this was the Razer thread? jk hehe

I just bought a Hammerhead Pro a few days ago.

Really like how it looks. The built in bass enhancement is a bit too much for me though because it kinda drowns out the trebles, especially with rock music.

But it's still a nice product. I just hope this one lasts me at least a year to justify the cost, lol.

i heard sabertooth macro keys are not separated inputs which is it can't get mapped to others key on game setting only can mapped on the controller buttons
i dont know how to explain it
this guy on 2nd post said like that
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Sabertooth-Eli...iews/B00B1MXGDO

around same size as SS XAI. go brightstar gaming at LYP to molest it kao kao before you buy.
it is really comfortable. they cons for me is no dedicated button to switch dpi on the fly near the mouse wheel. but i chg the button 5 to do this instead.
overall = 9/10. good buy.

first u nid to make sure tat the game u wan to play is in the list
pre configured controller list by razer or sixense

den it takes quite awhile to adjust to the playing style with hydra
and
it dun feels as nice as playing with kb and mouse
but it always go back to your preference
