Any iem with good sound quality at around 1k? With punchy bass and smooth highs. I have tested jh 5 and jh 16, jh 5 sq only average with slight bass and the highs is not clear at jaben. Only consider jh 16 good but the price put me off. I don't really like headphones as I wear glasses. As long as sq equal to cans then ok d

Hey guys, I know most of you guys here are true audiophiles but hope you guys can give some insight.

I used to use Bose QC15 which I liked a lot but at the end sold it off because it is too dependent on the battery or I won't get to use it at all.

Then I bought Klipsch M40 which is also a nice headphone but too bad it is too heavy and will put a stress on the ear if using it for quite a while. Besides, I come to hate the on ear design.

So now, I'm headphoneless. Care to recommend me a good noise cancellation headphone with over the ear design and not too heavy?

thanks a lot.

Any recommendation of IEM that is clear and slight bass. Previously had a SOUNDMAGIC E30 and its seems the wire at soundmagic cannot tahan my rough usage.

Usually i use them during my workout.

My budget is around rm100 and below. Searching for a elastic and durable iem this time. thanks

Those you mention has well exceeded 1k.
You could also check out TDK BA200, UE900, Vsonic. You can try them out at Jaben.
If you don't mind customs you could check out 1964 V3. Sounds close to your preference, would recommend Quads but you'll have to stretch your budget a bit.

Hi, urgently need a set of headphones because my surroundings are too damn noisy and I can't study at all with kids whining near me and I even get disturbed by the sound of the toilet flushing next door.

- Your rig (mp3 players, amps, sound card etc) standard laptop with on-board sound card, iPad, Nokia smartphone
- What type of usage (movies/ gaming/ music etc) all, prefer with a bit more bass if budget allows
- File format used in your source (i.e. flac, mp3 etc) .mp3, hardly flac
- Genre of music you listen to (classical, jazz, metal, etc) all except speed metal and country
- Headphone/ earphone type (closed, open, circumaural, IEM etc) I guess I have no choice to go for closed (the sound quality will be worse, right?) but I really need to reduce the noise from outside.
- Other requirements (if any) (mic, volume control, 5.1ch, 7.1ch etc) with mic if possible.

Budget: below RM200. Very sad budget, I know.. Hopefully it's not too much to get something for that low budget. Please also do tell me on where I can purchase your recommendation. Thank you!

EDIT: also, I'm currently only using my Nokia stock IEM.. so I think anything would impress me at this point. My Cube F1 and Sonic Gear earphones all died within less than a year of usage and can't really be repaired unless soldered.. if possible I'd like for my future headphones to be highly repairable (especially at the 3.5mm jack area)

Currently interested in: audio-technica ATH T500, Superlux HD681 EVO, Superlux HD661

Hi, anyone use DENON AH-C260 here? I have very weird feeling towards this earphone. Before I bought it, I've read very positive comment about it and with asking price of RM118 with shipping, it's quite a bargain. But when I first use it, it sounds like crap. Exactly opposite as what others said, it has no bass at all and sound are harsh. I used on my Galaxy SII and it sounds horrible, worst sound I've heard. I use on my desktop and it sound slightly better, same as my iPod Touch 4. After 30 hours burn in, it show very small improvement. I've changed the tips with all the size and it just sound not much different. But the story change when I used it on my laptop. (Lenovo Y400) I set the EQ towards high and bass and the bass is very deep and has very clear high with good mids. The bass feels punchy and well suited to electronics, works well with Lounge too. And then I tried on my friend's devices and it has no soul in it. Bass is lacking terribly. So, any C260 users here, mind to share your experience?

it might be due to the drivers being slightly hard to drive, try getting an amp for it, not all IEMs are easy drivers to sound well, S2 IPod Touch 4, Desktop sound card, laptop sound card are not up to the standards of decent sounding, they are bare minimum, EQ not recommended

the best combination is always external usb dac + external amp to IEM, but you can start with USB DAC + amp combined
