AS promised, my super delayed Review on Razer Orochi since no one has ever nothered to review it yet..
May it serves as a medium to help future Orochi buyers to decide..
So, I'll start with the packaging..
Nothing fancy though I hope they make Orochi's packaging as unique as Razer Mamba's plastic..

user posted image

The mouse is lying on the Razer Kabuto mouse pad which goes well with the mouse..
Rip open the packaging, and u'll get a pair of battery and a mouse pouch to keep the Orochi on the travel..
In this picture, I omitted out the battery and pouch as I do not have them at the moment..
Next picture is the inside mechanism of the mouse..
Again I lazy to destroy the mouse so I did not open the inner screws though I wish to..

user posted image

Next up is the Driver and installation part..
I omitted that part as I already install the driver but it was easy and simple..
There's one part where you have to press all 3 buttons simultaneously to update the firmware but I'm lazy enough to update it as it works fine with my usage lately..

Then, this is the display of the Synapse Orochi Configuration System..
The 1st picture shows what you can do and customize the respective keys..

The 2nd picture shows the configuration for performance such as DPi n acceleration..
Note that in wireless mode, DPi is Maxed at 2000k and Polling is at 500Hz..
And you Dpi will not increase past 2k so set your dpi rate step up carefully as you cant change ur DPi when u r on wireless mode..
It will follow your previous configuration in the Synapse..

user posted image

The 3rd picture shows the mouse Profile management screen..
Since I do not use many profiles, I omitted to use this function..
But frm my tweaking, you can make prfiles for your gaming needs like COD4 and CS-Source like that..
But since I hardly game with my Orochi when I go out, I did not abuse the function well..

user posted image

This is the menu to set your macros and import them..
The macros can be input and modified and customized here..
Since my Lycosa have all the macro I need, function again omitted..

user posted image

Lastly this is the screen to switch off the scroll light and battery indicator perhaps when you wanna conserve battery on the go..
It also displays the firmware you are using..
I am yet to upgrade to firmware 1.04 but i doubt It would make a difference as my mouse is perfect the way it is..

This wraps out the belated physical review of the Razer Orochi..

Now is the performance test..
It glides well on the Kabuto although the cable is significantly shorter compared to the Mamba's cable..
Could prove to be a problem if your USB hub is far away like for computer users..
This mouse is mostly made for laptop users..
The cable is approximately 1m and it is braided to prevent tangling but i find it stills tangles though..Maybe user end fault here..
The Orochi have 2 side buttons on each side..
2 on the left I configure for gaming and another 2 on the right for DPI switches in game..
But I must say, its harder to reach the right buttons as my pinky finger is significantly smaller..
And finally, the sensors tracks fine and I do not suffer frm typical lift off problem in gaming though..
Weird? Or is it maybe coz I'm noob?
There's a switch to switch off the Laser in order to stop it form tracking juz in case you do not want to use it for a shprt period but lazy to pull out the battery..
There is no sleep time for the mouse i think..
The only way to sleep it is to off the tracking sensor at the bottom of the mouse..

I think this ends my review..
Maybe some editing and correction needed for 100% complete useful guide but this is just my 2 cents..
xD

no la, the prototype iirc had sensor jitter.
so i waited for the final retail unit before doing that small review, which of cos by then the sensor was fine.

size of cos depends on how u play and how much space u have on ur table.

forums are not for spoon feeding ppl.
everyone here can tell u to go buy the large pad, but if it cant fit ur desk then whats the use?
so as if we all know what that is.
and if u dunno, then why bother?

nono...ur question is like asking which colour of toyota vios perform better...=.="
the size of the mousepad doesn't related to the performance...
is the type of material and so affect the performance...

@kael90, What kinda question is that? Different size has got different performance? If your table has got no space for the large size, then what is the use of getting the large one?

Well, if you were to ask performance between 2 different surface.. Acceptable.. But c'mon dude, asking performance of same surface but different size? I don't really get you..

Or maybe this might help, some gamers like to move their hands a lot; like big movements.. Then they'll get the large size.. Some gamers don't really have big movements when gliding their mouse or moving their mouse, then medium or maybe small size will do good.. What kinda review you need? The techs and stuff? Go HERE and you can find everything there.. smile.gif
