What car u drive now?? I support you buy Savvy...go go!!!
I don't drive any car now. But I'm on the upcoming Vios/Belta. Even that I'm still eager to want to play Savvy AMT.

I support you buy Savvy...go go!!! woah... seems that u are kinda satisfy with ur savvy.... lol ur cons... not really a big big problem lar.. hahahahaSo far: Cons: (1) No auto lock of car when shutting engine and pressing the brake padel cannot auto lock either. :thumbsdown: (2) The lock is just a small cyclinder sticking up and down...this is very old style.... (3) Everything left becomes right and right becomes left...RPM meter, signal lights etc. (4) The meter lights...yellow, bright red at night wah-lau...i can't even read the meter... Pros: (1) Less bumpy than my Myvi! (2) Nice ride and handling!!(especially turning corners). (3) Feels like driving a big car like my old KIA sephia again!! (4) I didn't try to unlock the wrong car!! (I actually try to go into the wrong Myvi a few times before...too many on the road...so embarrassed...quickly cabut..) But yesteday...i kena cucuk from a 4WD...Nissan i think...tailgate me at SPRINT highway...and then another AhBeng driving Myvi (with Penang plates) try to cucuk me also......WTH...you want go faster you go ler!!! QUOTE(eng98 @ Aug 20 2007, 03:18 PM) woah... seems that u are kinda satisfy with ur savvy.... lol ur cons... not really a big big problem lar.. hahahaha In terms of driving experience ok ler...for 37k...what else can buy? VIVA? No thanks. Persona is attractive at 45k but i don't think it'll be FC efficient compared to a Savvy.....I'm just paranoid about FC after so many years driving a Kia....LOL.But the real test will be the quality and whether it'll be mostly problem free. This i think can only be determined after 2 years down the road. We'll see. (btw, i top up for RM280 for an extra 3 years warranty just in case.) btw, SA gave me this CoolWorld tint voucher....never heard of it before. Any good ah? Okay...i just found that:
1. Old savvy use 175/50/R15 2. Facelifted & Lite use 165/60/R14 3. Savoc favourite is 185/60/R13 1->2 = speedometer run 0.4% too fast : 60mph @ 59.7mph / 96.6kmh @ 96.1kmh 1->3 = speedometer run 0.7% too fast : 60mph @ 59.6mph / 96.6kmh @ 95.9kmh 2->3 = speedometer run 0.3% too fast : 60mph @ 59.8mph / 96.6kmh @ 96.2kmh This post has been edited by Azuma-kun: Aug 20 2007, 07:02 PM |

Drives like a big car sure it is. It's solid. I thought hi line variant is shodded with old line rims and tyres size.
QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 20 2007, 11:49 AM) What car u drive now?? I support you buy Savvy...go go!!! One reason I hate bengmawi so much..My car is all stock only still they wouldn't leave me alone - esp those with 17-18'' wheels superbeng lookers.So far: Cons: (1) No auto lock of car when shutting engine and pressing the brake padel cannot auto lock either. :thumbsdown: (2) The lock is just a small cyclinder sticking up and down...this is very old style.... I should put a sticker saying "My other car is a MYVI!!!"...LOL. Cons no I can be rectified easily - even much easier and cheaper if you could identify which wires to tap on and trigger yourself. I had it done at a shop for RM65 with a nicer switch - that's how accessory shop can survive, with almost 500% profit for such a simple job. Brake pedal to lock, shutting down engine to unlock and the extra switch for lock/unlock. ![]() BTW Savvy already has a transparent key ring but there's no light. There's a hole to add a bulb and LED inside there. Very easy to DIY - total cost only RM1.50 with 20 minutes of your time, but no delay or dimming function. Plan to add the functions later on/ http://www.savoc.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3396&start=40 I remember Wira's key ring has a delay and dimming function. Gen2 has no delay or dimming function - just close the door the light at the key ring will off like the Savvy's DIY. I wonder if Persona has those 2 functions - if got Proton sure did take some effort to improvise on smaller sometimes nifty features which is good. congrats to new owners.
My 'O' line Savvy is about 52,000 km now (2005 Nov). Journey daily about 100km, cost me around RM7 per day. No problem with the car, normal service no problem to report, just need a little alignment (potholes!). At the moment is calculating the timing belt change cost at 60K. The PESC quote RM850, but I read in Savoc you can do it less then RM500. |

QUOTE(kotak @ Aug 21 2007, 06:05 PM) wow after seeing most of the picture in this thread....man i am scared now.....kinda making silence promised to myself not to speed too much anymore now....and no more zig zagging too......the kancil guy and the 2 women give the biggest impact....thanks to whoever posting that pic and also who ever thought of this thread....at least im gonna be more coutious on the road now than before. It costs only RM300 plus for complete kit: belt, bearings, oil seal etc, Proton original and Renault sourced from outside cost around that before the price reduction, can get cheaper now especially the Renault brand. Authorised SC will charge RM100 for the labour, since taking out the front right wheel will enable you to access the timing belt easily, labour should be much cheaper a bit outside.Branded third party from Dayco and Gates with complete kit cost RM380, that will last 100k km compare to Proton original 60k km. For these belts, there's a warranty card to be fill in in case problem arises later. |
