14'' is 60 series tyres actually. I'm gonna change to 13'' wheels...downgrading the wheel doesn't mean poorer performance... I could increase comfort level and wider tyres mean more grip.

on savvy

15'' rims with 175/50/15
14'' with 165/60/14
13'' with 185/60/13

I thnk Peyno should be ban from this forum. Or anywhere else for that matter.

He is an annoying bug.

Hyper: Don't go down to the level of Peyno with the mindless P2 bashing. You don't want to stoop that low.

offtopic: we will never let u go easily. U know u such an annoying figure in most automotive threads in mysia with ur bashing towards japanese cars and ur insults towards those driving perodua cars. Dont forget ur ah beng/boxy acc in LY has been banned as a reminder of how strict is LY forums is compared to other forums. Ur image is notorious even in the face of Chips Yap, paul tan and many more auto fanatics in mysia.

U been warned. ppppprrrffftttt my @ss......

offtopic ends:

In the other note, i saw a savvy lite in Proton showrooms and i have to say is proton going backwards again? The 12 inch wheel is ridiculous though and reminds me of that basic viva 660-880cc, which has such small wheels. I felt the normal M line savvy is much a worthy buy. wink.gif

Hey travis, if you want to start a petition to get rid of Peyno, count me in.

Back to topic:

My SA called me at 2pm today... brows.gif ...say i can collect car this evening, but i decide to go tomorrow morning .

Ha-ha, looks like i'll have a new ride on Sunday after all. thumbup.gif

Tyre profile are not correct. If they run 14s on 165/60, then on 13s it should be 155/70 to maintain the correct tyre profile.

Wider tyre does not mean more grip if you have taller profiles. The tall profile will negate the wider tyres as the tyre walls flex and lift the contact patch off the ground. In fact you would end up driving on less contact patch.

I did ask some people before about this, they said that you will have to do alot of job by taking out the stock one and find a replacement censor and lots of things to be done and will cost you alot.

WQK xxxx. smile.gif

Just have my first drive just now from Mutiara.

Ist stop at Shell petrol station.....unfortunately can't open petrol cover! (very embarrasing..)...quickly called SA and asked him should i turn left or right to open cover...he said anti-clockwise and even offered to drive over to help me...i said no need, i try first. So it turned it anti-clockwise...managed to open it but it's quite hard to turn ler...Is it normal??? My wife will definitely going to hate this...

Ok, then continue with driving home. So far so good, i've hit 100km/h max (i try not to go over 90km/h as the Myvi burn-in period recommendation is 90km/h).

Oh yeah...what is this complaining by some Savvy owner engine loud ar? Ok mah...where got loud...at 100km/h, it's maybe only slightly louder than my Myvi and not "roaring" as some Savvy drivers said...maybe they used to drive Camry??? tongue.gif If you want to hear a roar, try driving a Viva 850...even at 2nd and 3rd gear, low speed sounds like lion already.

btw, unfortunately, my new Savvy does not have sound proof material under the front hood... vmad.gif , but on the bright side, since it's not really that loud to begin with and i can further reduce the noise later with some padding. smile.gif

When i reached home, i checked the manual and found that the recommended max speed for burn in period is actually 110km/h for the Savvy... thumbup.gif ...also has recommended gear and speed but who the heck can remember that....so i'll just stay within 110km/h before 1st service. smile.gif

btw, it comes with an immobilizer alarm in the key(has a chip inside). thumbup.gif

Well, in terms of driving experience, i'm sure glad i didn't buy a VIVA. Now i just hope it's more reliable than a SAGA. Gulp. sweat.gif

Recheck the calculation, with 155/70 the difference is big at 1.2% compare the tyre sizes I provided only has 0.3-0.4% difference. On 13'', 185/60/13 is the best bet. 155/70 is just too narrow.

You're right about the higher profile tyres there...more body rolls. Even with 55 series I could feel much difference but what to do it suit best on our kind of roads here. But many users reported not much difference in handling performance - straight road stability and acceleration are improved a bit due to lighter 13'' rims compare to the stock 15'' sprot rims.

QUOTE(kcng @ Aug 19 2007, 12:56 PM)

*
The only tyre size that can go wider on 15'' rims is 195/45 cos higher profile will scrape the absorber mounting.
