rhb is quite similar to govt dept, many red tape, slow, conservative....

i walked in branch applied visa sig, telling them utilised my wm credit limit, the cs said need epf statement, i refused, told her to check with her superior, superior said no need, moreover their epf machine not working, cant print anything. thus i signed and submit app form. after few days, no response, i email via rhb now, replied will check, after that received a sms asking me to bring ic of supplementary holder, i email again saying my application is visa sig, not supp, after few days call me again, saying my form is wrong, i said yr cs fill in for me, the caller said cant do anything, asked me to fill in new form in any branch. i walk in again, this round the mgr see me, said must have epf stetement even under shared credit, its a bank requirement. then i realised the superior during my first walk in already knew my app will fail, and she submit my app under supp instead since there is no epf statement.

through rp is worst, rhb need one more doc but not willing to call rp, rp keep telling me rhb yet to feedback, i call rhb direct then informed me rp miss out one doc, i asked what would happen if i don't call, the rhb staff said they will just reject, mymy....hence from then onwards its me that deal with the bank and not rp. my impression is rhb bank staff not that serious and dedicated towards their work.

i know its my fault to insist no supporting doc, however my additional card using share credit limit basis with both scb and pbb is just one email. the former called me to confirm while the latter no sound at all for 2 weeks then sent me the cards. mbb much easier just fill in one form at klcc then received sms few days later asked me collect.

the reason i could think of is card biz not rhb major source of income, so nobody cares.
*
Sorry to know that.
For MBB, I just need to call CS to add card, as long as lower category than existing, no doc needed.

For RHB, I called CS to add supp card, told me need to fill in form in branch.
(actually same for HLB, both cannot go via email)
No choice but to drive to branch, fill in form, together with IC photocopy.

At the same time, I applied another card for myself, didn't submit any supporting doc (only IC).
After submitting to branch, I think it took about a week, only for card centre to call me.
2-3 days later, I can see the new cards appeared in RHB online.
Not yet receive though.

It has been 11 working days since 22/7. Normally, how many working days will it take?  hmm.gif  biggrin.gif

Update: It has been 15 working days since 22/7. Online status sometimes “Approve-in-Principle” sometimes “In Progress”. Email to CS several times but still no responses.

hope u finally get it. i just share my experience, perhaps there is much better approach from others that would make everything become more transparent n efficient. i have this bad attitude not to give in if i find the service offer is not on par with the rest, unless its a monopoly. anyhow i decide not to proceed with rhb vs.

I applied with RinggitPlus on the 8th and was sent to the bank the next day. I called CS this morning and was told that I would received news on my application either this week or next week. From the conversation with CS it would take up to 2 weeks to know for the result.

I agree what you said is TRUE. By just checking online status is not enough. Must be a bit proactive to call them. They won't call you. They won't reply your emails. Online status sometimes "In Progress" sometimes "Application-In-Principal". Don't know what's wrong with them. doh.gif sweat.gif rclxub.gif

If there's a status 'pending' with credit limit amount and an account number. Would that means the card will be approved?

Are you referring to CCRIS status? “Pending” means still unsure yet.

If you have online banking, you can check the status of your application.

For RHB, you can’t just wait. Need to be proactive a bit.

I have applied through RinggitPlus last week and I checked the application status through phone, it said In Progress. I felt a bit slow and talked to customer service directly. Found out RP didn't submit my EPF statement to them, the actual status in the system was incomplete document. So, it's better to check with them to find out what's the real reason behind if it's pending for too long.

I talked to RP also, they said usually if there's missing document, the bank will inform them. I guess the bank just doesn't bother.

Banks aren't very informative when they hit a road block....all banks....

Maybank likewise....only when I called then they say got problem....end up I made 3 applications to migrate from vi to m2p.....first via private Banking....twice via call centre....only the 3rd try did it go through....and then they miss the supp and that took another month.....

Now I start monitoring the status via online banking every day. I know if the application status displayed as 'Approve-in-Priciple', it requires more documents. Then I have to call them immediatelly. Otherwise it will be dalayed indefinite. They won't call me and tell what they need from me. If the status is 'In-progress', I'm safe to wait. If not, even I wait until next year, they also don't bother.

So today my status back to 'In-progress'. It has been 18 working days since 22/7. notworthy.gif

as far as i know, approve in principle means you've already submitted all docs required, waiting for banks to process your application.

I've confirmed with RHB. 'Approve-in-Priciple' means still pending certain documents. You can also check here https://www.rhbgroup.com/general-info/faq/o...pplication.html.

'In-progress' means waiting for bank.

ok that's interesting to know. so far other banks gave an instant approval in principle (which is as good as nothing to me) on the phone/website after i submit all docs required.
