rhb is quite similar to govt dept, many red tape, slow, conservative....
i walked in branch applied visa sig, telling them utilised my wm credit limit, the cs said need epf statement, i refused, told her to check with her superior, superior said no need, moreover their epf machine not working, cant print anything. thus i signed and submit app form. after few days, no response, i email via rhb now, replied will check, after that received a sms asking me to bring ic of supplementary holder, i email again saying my application is visa sig, not supp, after few days call me again, saying my form is wrong, i said yr cs fill in for me, the caller said cant do anything, asked me to fill in new form in any branch. i walk in again, this round the mgr see me, said must have epf stetement even under shared credit, its a bank requirement. then i realised the superior during my first walk in already knew my app will fail, and she submit my app under supp instead since there is no epf statement.
through rp is worst, rhb need one more doc but not willing to call rp, rp keep telling me rhb yet to feedback, i call rhb direct then informed me rp miss out one doc, i asked what would happen if i don't call, the rhb staff said they will just reject, mymy....hence from then onwards its me that deal with the bank and not rp. my impression is rhb bank staff not that serious and dedicated towards their work.
i know its my fault to insist no supporting doc, however my additional card using share credit limit basis with both scb and pbb is just one email. the former called me to confirm while the latter no sound at all for 2 weeks then sent me the cards. mbb much easier just fill in one form at klcc then received sms few days later asked me collect.
the reason i could think of is card biz not rhb major source of income, so nobody cares.
I agree what you said is TRUE. By just checking online status is not enough. Must be a bit proactive to call them. They won't call you. They won't reply your emails. Online status sometimes "In Progress" sometimes "Application-In-Principal". Don't know what's wrong with them.
