i just realized just now that i can't find AEON in the list until i remember its previous name jaya jusco..

might be time to update that in the list..also, carrefour to Big Aeon

i know maybe not all Big Aeon accept amex, but at least the Big Aeon in wangsa maju do accept that...

maybe wait till other forumers start reporting on Big Aeon

Notice:

I just notice alot of cukai tafsiran can be paid through M2U already, checked shah alam and dbkl, both can be paid with amex rclxm9.gif
not sure whether it will be processed on weekends or not though...

one more transaction to cut over from ocbc laugh.gif

Last Saturday, I went to lowyat plaza to purchase an external HDD RM250, viewnet said they accept AMEX without charge but their machine rosak, can't use on that day.

So I went to All-IT to purchase, but they said AMEX charge 3% (compare with visa/master 2%), so they want to add this 1% to my price. So my HDD become RM253.

How the calculation with additional 3% on RM250 become RM253?
it should be RM257.50

if only charged you RM253, it is 1.2% only
*
The sales person told me will add 1%. 1% of RM250 should be RM2.50, but they add RM3 which is 1.2%. shakehead.gif

Motortakaful accept AMEX. You need to call them on weekend. I did it twice last year
https://www.motortakaful.com/ The number that I called was 1300-13-8888. They only work half day on Saturday morning.

Attached Image

So, on top of the 10% discount, you get 5xTP +RM 50

MotorTakaful is by Etiqa, a sister company of MBB so they accept it lo.. I get extra discount because I'm one of the Group staff icon_idea.gif

But as you say, must call on Saturday (not even Weekend as they are closed on Sunday) between 10-1PM and must tell them you want them to charge the card the same day.

The 10% discount, I emphasized again is not a rebate. It's a guidelines called "Mandatory Rebating For Direct Business" since 2009. By reducing sales commision and benefiting the policy buyer. You can google and download the document in pdf. There is a few insurance company provide the 10% discount. Motor Takaful is one of them.

It's not stated clearly at the main page. I assumed this page's function is for everyone to discuss, share and contribute their information so it can be assembled into one useful platform for all AMEX users so one doesn't have to lurk around all day long for a new info or go through few hundred pages back.

Did you check expedia and booking.com? Expedia is giving 10% discount with Amex as well, though I found booking.com was much much cheaper than both of those, even with the discount and rebates factored in.

Yes, indeed. Everyone share and learn from each other.

Expedia is a joke. Only 5 available hotel in Ipoh. Booking.com matched the price with Agoda.

I used Agoda as it was well supported by reviewers and Maybank. Didn't have any problem getting my 7% discount with my Visa Platinum. I thought by using AMEX i will get the same amount of rebate/discount.

TS, you need to update front page under utilities, TNB - Kedai TNB allows daily swipe of up to rm5000.00 and drive thru kiosk rm1500 daily limit. Just tried to pay rm6699 in New Town PJ but they allowed 5k. I think all Kedai Tenaga now accept Amex.

Yes. Call them and tell them you want to pay via Amex and want it to be charged today. That's it.
*
I guess this does not work anymore, last time I once tried this method, however the transaction date is reflected on the next following Monday instead.

I just got mine updated last two weeks or so smile.gif

The charges were immediate, as I received the confirmation sms shortly after from Amex, they even called me back as my card details was outdated and they could not charge it, so they advise me to call Amex to update the info. A few mins later, the confirmation sms came through.

Not entirely sure what happened in your case though.

considering many of us subscribed to ASTRO, we need to push ASTRO to add in AMEX payment in Maybank2U. biggrin.gif

put more pressure to them by email/contact/etc.

You could, in the meantime, fill up the AMEX Express Autopay form and fax it to them. I've been paying Astro via this method for the past 2 years.

You can download the PDF form from the link below.

I just renew in Mid June, call in Saturday. But my case is abit different because when I called, the insurance is expired, so the customer service staff charge on that day (sat), but renew on Monday. And I still get 5% cash back. cool2.gif

Yea...that's my experience because when buying the phones, its using another terminal, my guess is that the terminal for phones is directly with DiGi but the terminal for bill payments is the company's own terminal hmm.gif

Now the DiGi Centres accepts AMEX for bill payment over the kiosk already, tested at Times Square & SUnway Pyramid thumbup.gif

Yes, what NewGUY said is correct. But you will also enjoy some rebate on the spot, depending on what product u buy. So the extra charge will end up lower. For my 24 mth ezypay, if I'm not mistaken I paid less than RM50 after the rebate. Anyway, comparing with the 24 mth interest-free installment, it's still worth it.

Yes, they will display the list of charges for different credit cards and different installment schemes at the counter. If they don't you can ask them and they will tell you.

It will be to your surprise that none of my usage is on toll.
I commute with LRT and my new work place take TnG credit for food (lunch/teabreak).
Will be great if I can convert this expenses from cash to Amex. Kinda wasted with the 5% + 5xTP.

If I use rm400 per month on tngo, I might be willing to go and topup at bukit jalil or klang. Of coz, organize to do something else there too. Like eat dim sum or bkt with frens living nearby

If this was a one-off event I can understand. But it looks as though they are abusing this, turning away customers from using Amex on the excuse that their "system is down". Furthermore, I find it suspicious that only a single card is offline when all other cards from the same merchant bank works.

At the very least with All-IT, I've never been turned away even once from using Amex.

Extremely unfair to consumers

If it does not appear automatically after several days, then you have to go to the branch. I am not certain whether you can link it yourself by getting the 6 digit code form ATM or not.

Should be all petronas station.

All the way (others stated as well) I pumped that is available for Amex card. So far haven't face this issued yet.

However, sometime the terminal in petronas may not accept properly as you need to connect few times or change another terminal only can pump petrol.

Ask them to restart the device and plug in the power cord... it was on very low battery which I suspect cause the radio to be turned off.

Latest update for bill payment via AMEX via M2U
Source: conversation with maybank CS

TNB
limit total RM5000 or 5 transactions per week, whichever comes first

Telekom
limit total RM1000 or 2 transactions per week, whichever comes first

UNIFI
limit total RM1000 or 2 transactions per week, whichever comes first
*
Thanks for that info! I just tried logging in to M2U and managed to pay RM5000.00 to one of my TNB bills. Unfortunately I will need to remember to log in to M2U every week to pay my bills which add up to RM20,000+.

Does anyone know if M2U resets the transaction limit every Monday of the week?

Or is it if I do my transactions to TNB on Thursday this week, it will only reset on Thursday next week?

the transaction limit will be reset exactly 7 days after the last transaction;
ie if you had made payment of rm5000 at 1/8/13 8.00pm, you may make the next payment at 8/8/13 8.01pm

I tried paying for exam fee for "SOCIETY OF ACTUARIES" on Sunday in August with CID at the front of card. Got the sms alert immediately.
But the transaction still shown a few days later with Transaction Date on the following Monday, missed the weekend rebates. doh.gif
Guess SOA does not process the payment on weekend.
But I thought it will take the sms alert date as transaction date. doh.gif
And got a very bad exchange rate for USD @ 3.3702 shocking.gif

So does Maybank automatically not charge the annual fee as soon as you hit a certain amount of spending? My 3rd year Amex Plat charge card went past, got charged the RM50 service fee but no RM800 annual fee.

First time this year.

MBB Amex 2, is it an Amex card? As in, whatever place that accepts Amex as listed on page 1, do they accept MBB Amex 2 too? I am unsure, hence the question.

it probably won't fit your taste, but you can also try any hypermarket out there. think Aeon Big. they can easily accept Amex there.
or you can also try Courts or Harvey Norman. but probably Harvey Norman got fewer selections though

Sorry, these might have been answered earlier, but:

1) are the transaction date and posting date the same for TNB bill payment using amex via M2U? if not, is there any other way i can earn the 5% rebate?

2) can i still pay Maxis bill by phone using amex during weekends and earn 5% cash rebate if i did not register my amex online with maxis before this?

1) yes for me, though i always try to pay on a sat instead of a sun, just to avoid any "delay", but the few times i paid on sunday also no issue. in fact, i receive instead sms saying that i've paid the bill once i click "pay".

2) no, i dont think u can pay without registering. i think the most common issue is not about registering ur card, since u can do it online. the issue is that when u pay by phone (automated) it will ask for ur PIN, which is actually the 6 digit password that u used to key in in the older version of their website. if u did not register to the site before this (before the change to use email address and alpha numeric password), u won't be able to pay by phone. it's reported by some forummers that u cant register the 6 digits PIN anymore now, even if u call them up.

QUOTE
yup...normal number 123, please register ur card before calling them up...once u register, u can't see ur card details on the site, so there might be a bit confusion on whether u've sucessfully registered . but after register, just give them a call

Pay via Phone Payment
Settle your Maxis mobile and fixed line bills with a simple phone call. Just set up your account to Pay via Phone by filling in your details below then dial 123 ( everytime you want to make a payment )
Press 1 for access to your billing info
Press 1 to perform bill and payment transaction
Press 3 to make a payment
Note : Your may only choose to set up EITHER the Pay via Phone options OR the Direct Debit option. You cannot subscribe to both.

But I did manage to pay using Amex last Sunday. That's why I thought they just started to accept payment by credit card. Looks like there was some technical problem that day and I was lucky? hmm.gif Too bad then...

hi sorry if this has been asked before, in the first post Digi is listed as a merchant that accepts AMEX, however my AMEX card is not an option when i try to pay my Digi bill in Maybank2U, also when i go to digi.com.my the payment page seems like it only accepts Visa/MC, so does Digi actually not accept AMEX?

AMEX transaction for oversea has a higher admin charge for conversion. its 3% (if not mistaken) on top of bank's forex rate. normal master/visa is 1%. but different banks have different rates for the forex. MBB is the lowest.

Register as in autodebit for the monthly Maxis bills? Then it won't be on a weekend, right?
I usually go to Gardens to pay my phone bills. Digi and Maxis, just one floor above the other. Usually go at night, when there is no crowd. Fast get in, fast get out, or not RM3 for parking charges...LOL

i used to have a big dispute issue with mbb credit card against etiqa. i signed up two policies with etiqa from an agent and i paid under auto-debit procedures. this procedures need to be renewed every year. after 2 years of paying, the third year the etiqa agent felt lazy to contact me and she fraud my signature to renew my etiqa policies without informing me.

i felt threatened and unsecured. i discontinued all my etiqa policies although i will suffer a loss of about rm14k after my 2 years payment. then i reported to mbb credit card centre to cancel off the latest unauthorised transaction together with all the proves that i have.

they took 2 years to settle the dispute (with consistent pressure from me) because the etiqa staffs are not cooperative with the mbb credit card staffs. even the mbb credit card staffs got fed up with the etiqa side, so in the end, it is mbb credit card department that paid all the disputed amount to me from mbb account under their goodwill (not etiqa).

you won't believe how much hassles i went through throughout the 2 years, plus the interest charges and late payment charges have been accumulated when i refused to pay for those unauthorised transactions. of course those were all paid under mbb credit card department goodwill too. so just for precaution... although they are under the same group, but totally different management. doh.gif

Everyone knows AutoDebit with having such dispute when comes to refund or error in amount. You already knows the risk so you have to prepare for it.

Thats why one off payment is more secure, u will get sms alert once the other side have charge to your card. Received any weird transaction in sms, call up CS and stop. I get fraud transaction last year for the Amex and i heard it is quite norm.

i choose to use this combo due to 7.5% rebate from Amex CC and 10% rebate from Etiga. The person who having my CC details are recorded for future reference should any fraud case appear.

If you happen to have details of the agent, you should totally go make a police report listing the chronological order of the events. I see a possible criminal fraud case (agent acting without express principal's instruction, plus signing on your behalf) there. Bad agents put shame in good business.

yeah, i almost report the case to the police. finally, mbb persuaded me to close the case by settling it on their goodwill. fyi, the agent is one of the top managers and yet she did this to me. after a few weeks, i received a letter saying that my policies were no longer under that agent and now directly under the company. so i supposed the agent had either resigned or fired. but i don't care so much about it anymore since i already terminated the policies. and saying about this, it's actually already passed more than 3 years ago...

no, it is the auto-debit procedures that need to be renewed yearly. when i signed up for the etiqa policies 7 years ago, i also felt weird why it can't be once for all. the agent said that (either etiqa procedures or the mbb credit card procedures) is the requirement to be renewed either every 6 months or maximum 1 year. i forgotten the reason for it. shakehead.gif

her question is that there are people saying can pay maxis bill using amex via mb2u, but in the list of payees doesn't have maxis.
she checked in her mb2u and the option doesn't show up. so she just want a double confirmation from anyone of us that it is not a glitch on her side and to prove to those saying that maxis bill can be paid using amex via mb2u is wrong. i hope i understand it correctly. sweat.gif

That doesn't affect anything since any day or date will get 5x TP as long as an eligible transaction is being recorded on your AMEX.

Which card are you referring by the way? Please quote your source to avoid confusion.

I'm assuming you're referring to MBB2 AMEX. For MBB2 AMEX, only 5% rebate on weekend eligible transaction based on the transaction date.

If you spend on weekends you get 5% cashback not 5x more TP. smile.gif

Its max @ RM50 per month.

u can check the first post and it seems no added.
asked the thread owner to updated lor.

Petronas (*at pump*)
- New Pantai Expressway (near Kuchai Lama)
- Taman Tenaga, Cheras
- Jalan Merak, Bandar Puchong Jaya
- Kota Damansara (next to Tropicana Medical Centre)
- Machap arah utara
- USJ 6
- Taman Equine (right in front of AEON)
- Kelana Jaya SS4
- MRR2 Ampang (beside Tesco Ampang)
- MRR2 (right after the zoo on left side)

no need to update for petronas anymore, most of it now accepts amex at the pump, else will accept at the counter

yes. but u lose out on higher exchange rate plus the admin fee charged by amex which i think is 1% on top of conversion.

Why I don't get the 5% cash rebate on weekend spend for my M2U Amex ? cry.gif I check both transaction date & posting date are the same date and on weekend. Is there a min spend amount to entitle for 5% cash back? Total spend in Oct (from 6/10 till 26/10) is > 500++ but zero credit (cash back).
