considering many of us subscribed to ASTRO, we need to push ASTRO to add in AMEX payment in Maybank2U. biggrin.gif

put more pressure to them by email/contact/etc.

just tried to pay Quit Rent (cukai hasil tanah) via M2U using AMEX (listed payment type).

Confirmation #1: According to MBB CS, the payee (Pejabat Pengarah Tanah & Galian Selangor) in M2U does not accept any payment by any credit cards.

Confirmation #2: Payment via CASA is accepted (just confirmed pay thru via Savings Accounts in M2U).

Observation: The AMEX option from the payment list is a bug/misleading from M2U. vmad.gif

could it be that MBB removed AMEX option from all govt-related bill payments?

Try one-time payment under M2U to see if it shows up.

When I login to M2U, for some weird reason Amex does not show up as an option for MBSA in my favourites. If I do a one time payment, Amex shows up as a payment option for MBSA!
*
Amex listed as payment option is ok, but does the transaction goes thru successfully? sweat.gif

nice payment options for MBSA. jeless!! biggrin.gif MBPJ removed Amex option though. mad.gif

Not worth it to use cc at those small pc shops.. they refuse to absorb the cost. Thats why I only buy at the bigger ones like ALL-IT, no extra charge using amex.

i already give up trying to buy computer stuffs in lowyat plaza
all wont accept amex, stating terminal down etc

TS, might as well remove buying computer parts from any shop in lowyat plaza. wasted almost 9k+ TP due to unable to use amex (not to mention cashback weekend)
*
guys, any ideas if Compu-Zone (C-Zone) accepts Amex?

planning to get some stuffs, probably about RM1K in total transactions.

thanks!

i went to Viewnet Lowyat this afternoon, pick some item and pay my item.. give them my Amex card without asking and they straight away swipe the card.. no problem at all.. but i see they have only 1 wireless card terminal that will be pass around to swipe amex card.. but minimum to use credit card is rm50..

then i went to next store All IT, pickup some more item but the price is less than rm50.. All IT also minimum to use credit card is rm50.. then i just ask if i can pay amex if more than rm50, and the cashier said yes..
*
good to know that!

since my amex is tied to paypal, will it go thru successfully, since the transaction is in RM?

not sure if there's a surcharge or not, paying via paypal.

gotta wait till after midnight to buy the tix biggrin.gif wish me luck!

PayPal won't since the currency is in RM, right ?
*
exactly, which is why i was curious why GSC accepts paypal at the first place since they most probably cater 100% malaysians with RM currency anyway doh.gif will try this out in a few mins. biggrin.gif

another thing that worries me is the timezone. if i pay with paypal now, the transaction is based on paypal's timezone in the US (about 12hrs later than MY), but what will be stated in M2U? equivalent US time or "converted" based on actual MY timezone? <--- ok, this was stated in MBB thread

*update1: just tried paypal for gsc payment. since i have 2 credit cards (visa + amex, both mbb2cards) linked with paypal, it automatically selected the visa card to be charged (eventhough i set amex as my primary card in paypal).

i'm not sure about paypal, but my amex was not fully verified (the dreaded 4-digit verification that requires bill statement checking). i wonder if this has any limitation charging to it. hmm.gif

maybe i should remove the visa card from being linked to paypal. what will happen?

*update2: ok, removed visa from paypal. cannot proceed with payment with amex-paypal. so, the conclusion for the time being is visa/mastercard-linked with paypal is accepted, amex-linked will not.

*update3: ok, my amex now verified in paypal. found the option to change the payment method, only visa/mastercard accepted. here's the error message:

Yes,
From the Umobile Website, https://www.u.com.my/support_paymentMethods,
OTC accept AMEX Payment.

But the Berjaya Time Square Service Center's Staff told me that they do not accept AMEX, for some time d, the card terminal machine will reject AMEX card. I asked her to try 1 more time in front of me, the machine rejected the Payment as well.

I'm writing this issue to UMobile Customer Service, and hope to get their clarification.
But you know la, Umoblie Mia Customer Service  doh.gif
Dunno they will reply or not.
But i will update here once they reply me.

blast the question to their FB https://www.facebook.com/umobile

faster response and more eyeballs too. they will feel the pressure to answer you.

if email, it's 1-to-1 between you and umobile. they can ignore your email easily smile.gif

sad...in this case I feel like they are not going to accept cc for reload
I actually write in for them but they never reply since the launch of the card
feel like their cs are suck...
Tesco accept telco reload by cc, amex as well, and you can use together with your tesco card to collect points
hope Tesco will provide tng reload...lolx
*
all mbb2card amex users are waiting for this! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

problem for tesco to offer tng reload is to have a separate or replace existing card terminal.

e.g. replace existing with a contact + contactless card terminal that can read both chip card (contact) and RFID tng card (contactless), this, in turn, must be integrated with tesco's POS terminals, which may incur more cost as well.

one merchant i noticed is Petronas Puchong accepts both amex/credit cards and reload tng (slot the cc into the reader, put the tng on top of it)

reason why tesco and other merchants (e.g. 7E, M2U, etc) can offer telco reload is because telco can generate pinless reload vouchers (aka softpin).

that means, they bought a bulk of reload vouchers (at discounted rate) from telco, and load the pinless vouchers into their POS database (as part of the retail SKU). this way, no hardware integration need. Just need to tweak the billing software to print out the reload serial number onto the POS receipt.

unless, TNG themself able to generate reload softpin at certain denomination (e.g. RM30, RM50, RM100, RM200, etc), then they can "sell" this to retailers/merchants. <--- one big problem, how to transfer the pin to the card??? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif still need a reader! rclxub.gif

oh well, we can wish sweat.gif
