TS, you need to update front page under utilities, TNB - Kedai TNB allows daily swipe of up to rm5000.00 and drive thru kiosk rm1500 daily limit. Just tried to pay rm6699 in New Town PJ but they allowed 5k. I think all Kedai Tenaga now accept Amex.

what surcharge the shop charges you when you buy is probably different from what they are being charged by their merchant bank.

Typically in the retail trade, high turnover merchants are charged between 1.4% to 1.5% for MC/Visa. Most new merchants get charged 1.6% to 1.8% for Master and Visa but when they surcharge you it is usually between 2 to 3%.

For Amex retail commissions taken from merchants are around 2% to 3% making it almost double MC/Visa. Shops will normally surcharge 3% to 5% for Amex.

just tried to pay Quit Rent (cukai hasil tanah) via M2U using AMEX (listed payment type).

Confirmation #1: According to MBB CS, the payee (Pejabat Pengarah Tanah & Galian Selangor) in M2U does not accept any payment by any credit cards.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Confirmation #2: Payment via CASA is accepted (just confirmed pay thru via Savings Accounts in M2U).

Observation: The AMEX option from the payment list is a bug/misleading from M2U.  vmad.gif

I got the same error message trying to pay MBPJ assessment. Finally went to Yong Shook Lin and paid using Amex.

And in Qatar, the credit card transaction don't require sign anymore, they need card holder to enter the pin. Very secure.
But what about our country? Still using sign where fraud case still happens.

To be fair, we are still quite advanced in this area, being chip based. In the USA, they still swipe and most of their cards are chipless.
