QUOTE(xandman @ Mar 4 2007, 08:00 AM) misa, the armrest protects the area beside the trackpad...it's a good idea to protect the area... because...if u rest ur hands too much on it...the part will be dirty n discoloured... since u r shopping for mbp stuffs...try looking for a trackpade protector too...=) Great, thanks for the info. I'll look for the trackpad protector as well as the armrest. I should be able to get it from Mac Asia right? ...sometimes I hate expensive gadgets because you have to just care for it so damn much. xD; Blargh.

QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Mar 4 2007, 02:41 AM) Well, actually we dont really need to buy 2 stick at once.. someone tried just 1 stick of 1 GB and use another old stick of 256.. it works as well... ofcoz u can use only one 1gb ram; just that some ppl tought getting 1gb just enough to add max 2gb since mb comes with 1gb ram (c2d 2.0). u got two slot, u can play with it. i was at first tought if getting just one ram but then again since macbook is my portable work + play machine must as well get 2 gig. my both original 512 ram is still intact with me. the rubber protector i am currently using covers the entire notebook till the armrest without trackpad (square hole) in between. if i have the time i will snap some pictures later. and it's way much cheaper then two or 3 pieces protector u can get. this i bought for just 35 buck and it's very slim rubber. btw, i got a concern, where is the MB cooling fan located; reason asking this is bcoz on heavy tasking usage i could notice some cool blowing air from the keyboard, my concern - just worried the protector could trap the graphic fan from going to top- it has to go side ways (near lcd monitor) taken from : http://www.powermax.com/articles_reviews/article.php?id=26This post has been edited by wizardboy: Mar 5 2007, 12:06 AM

QUOTE(wizardboy @ Mar 3 2007, 11:44 PM) i just bought kingston ddr2 667 ram. u need 2X1gig ram. well i bought the value ram. it's fast but i applied some illustrator effect n it just closed. i'm not sure if the illustrator error or ram. other then that everything is perfect. i got it for rm 250 X 2 = 500. macbook setup is 2X512ram. anyone want my macbook ram can pm me. i might consider selling it. now my mac macbook c2d 2.0 ghz and 2gb ram. envy? guess what, super fast load for many application like large movie files, email which my mailbox has ard close to 1k of mails + attachments. I've got myself an OCZ RAM (1GB DDR2 667MHz) w/o realising that it was kind of "value" RAM. It works most of the time but I do get the BLACK screen once a while which I do believe caused by the bad RAM (or may be due to MBP being too picky). I would suggest to get your RAM upgrade from your Apple retailer when you bought yours or else, go with the big names such as Crucial.

so far i do not encounter any problem with kingston ram. i notice the ram at macstudio lowyat they're selling kingston ram for apple - same ddr 2 but it's written for apple. n cost ard 700+ per 1gb. well so far Value ram that i am currently using does not give me any 'BLACK' screen.

I just bought a stick of 1GB KVR too .... now total of 1.25GB in my MB ... like no rasa.... gonna try more intensive later... lol edit: It is a bit faster now.. usually after i left the MB awhile it will lag when i re-use (from the screensaver) .. now nore more lag. Going to dashboard usually will lag a while to show all widget, now all come out immediately ... This post has been edited by ed0gawa: Mar 5 2007, 01:49 PM

siaukia, There's no point speaking to the technician or the operator who's picking up your call as they aren't authorisation to make decisions. Ask to speak with someone who can make a decision - do you want me to call them for you and tell them off for you - i can be pretty b*tchy when there's a need for me to exercise it *grins*

Or is there any nice promotion worth waiting?? Of course there's Leopard which is slated for release sometime during the Spring. If you can hold off on the purchase of a MacBook, it's probably best to do so. Leopard should usher in hardware upgrades. Difficult to say, of course, seeing that there has been little in the way of innovation for notebooks since Apple began shipping the MB with Merom.

I have 2 MB. 1 is mine and 1 is my girls'. Already send her MB 3 times for waranty claim since 6 months ago. 1- Logic board 2- hinge at the slot loading 3- Power adaptor suddenly dead. And now seems there's 4th problem: hinge near the usb/firewire port. It was the first batch of MB. And my MB, never have any problem since day one. Very bad luck to the first MB I tell you. I understand what you feel. Be patient

If u can wait, then wait - but we're never gonna be able to catch up with technologies anyways. I decided not to wait and bought my MBP instead
