haha welcome to mac world.
" an apple a day keeps the blue screen away " anyway, macbook pro is a fantastic machine. how's the heating issue.. is it that hot? my 12" powerbook previously feels like cooking my lap. i'm happy with 13" macbook but as u know.. limitation with the graphic chipset and ram (compared to macbook pro 3gb max) makes me like want to wack apple for not coming out 13" macbook pro. i need something light n small as i frequently moving n travel. |

i did not conclude say mb is bad. just that i read so many ppl complaining abt it... some with bad flickering lcd screen n etc. hopefully after almost a year they have improve their poduct.
yes 512ram never been enough. even i have 1gig of ram but i think i need another gig. vista is another copy of macOS X but then again they'll b some debate on it. anyway, that's depend on the individual. btw, u could get ur own wireless router to test on |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Mar 1 2007, 02:17 PM) The amount of RAM needed depends on what ur using ur MB/MBP for - it's not a product defect. I've no complains so far - no major problems with my system... thank God yes it is tru what u r saying abt ram.the defects i was refering to was on hardware - powercable megasafe burn, flikering lcd n etc which many ppl complain so far ard the net. anyway perhaps those were the earlier mb also the early batch mbp has heating issue. but at least so far most of us are not the 'lucky' ones anyway, anyone want to volunteer to post the desktop setup print screen? i just bought kingston ddr2 667 ram. u need 2X1gig ram. well i bought the value ram. it's fast but i applied some illustrator effect n it just closed. i'm not sure if the illustrator error or ram. other then that everything is perfect. i got it for rm 250 X 2 = 500.
macbook setup is 2X512ram. anyone want my macbook ram can pm me. i might consider selling it. now my mac macbook c2d 2.0 ghz and 2gb ram. envy? guess what, super fast load for many application like large movie files, email which my mailbox has ard close to 1k of mails + attachments. btw, i bought the skin like protector for macbook kb n arm rest for 35buck ! u can get it at IT mall. it's much better then those selling at mac shop. thin, cover almost every area and it's cheap. QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Mar 4 2007, 02:41 AM) Well, actually we dont really need to buy 2 stick at once.. ofcoz u can use only one 1gb ram; just that some ppl tought getting 1gb just enough to add max 2gb since mb comes with 1gb ram (c2d 2.0).someone tried just 1 stick of 1 GB and use another old stick of 256.. it works as well... u got two slot, u can play with it. i was at first tought if getting just one ram but then again since macbook is my portable work + play machine must as well get 2 gig. my both original 512 ram is still intact with me. the rubber protector i am currently using covers the entire notebook till the armrest without trackpad (square hole) in between. if i have the time i will snap some pictures later. and it's way much cheaper then two or 3 pieces protector u can get. this i bought for just 35 buck and it's very slim rubber. btw, i got a concern, where is the MB cooling fan located; reason asking this is bcoz on heavy tasking usage i could notice some cool blowing air from the keyboard, my concern - just worried the protector could trap the graphic fan from going to top- it has to go side ways (near lcd monitor)

so far i do not encounter any problem with kingston ram. i notice the ram at macstudio lowyat they're selling kingston ram for apple - same ddr 2 but it's written for apple. n cost ard 700+ per 1gb. well so far Value ram that i am currently using does not give me any 'BLACK' screen.

QUOTE(dragna @ Mar 17 2007, 04:17 PM) Got a question, There is a black line on my MB LCD and i noticed it last night, I don't think that it is anything to do with dead pixels since it's almost a cm long and i'm very sure that it's not caused by a scratch nor a slap on screen. dragna,I'm not sure what caused it, it just came out of no where after i rebooted after updating my OSX to 10.4.9. So what shall it do, take it to any Mac reseller for a check or should i just take it straight to VR Tech? which of them (companies) will get it done faster? i encounter the same problem previously. just after say few days using my mbblack, i notice a horizontal line after a heavy usage of illustrator n photoshop + other apps. but it disapper after restart. i only encounter it once and it's gone now. (mayb perhaps i increased the ram?) |

QUOTE(dragna @ Mar 18 2007, 02:29 PM) Well i'm a heavy Photoshop/Illustrator user too but i don't think it has to do with the RAM (or possibly could be), and i've restarted it several times and it still stays at the same spot. I'll just have to send it back in and let them rectify whats the cause. any news so far?my darn macbook restart while i was doing my damn presentation on keynote ! |
