QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Jan 17 2007, 05:14 AM) O_o .. my DVI-VGA convertor ain't around.... btw, anyone familiar with MySql installation? I am following a guide on http://switch.richard5.net/isp-in-a-box-v2...ql-on-mac-os-x/Did all the part till the author says Not very sure with what the author wants me to do. I downloaded the source file, un"zip" it. Run terminal and try to just paste watever code he posted there. It doesn't work.. lol. A check with official mysql installation file doesn't actually have this "Extra" step.. So do i actually need to complete it? * i start to miss my Windows now... dummy-proof* bro...are u juzt trying to install mysql? or are u planning to install with a webserver and also php? if u are planning to install everything... it's better to try XAMPP for OSX...

thats true there's no 'ori' Apple ram... but there are 'certified' Apple rams... of coz these certified things are more expensive...but they are tested to fully work on a mac... some of those untested rams...would give kernel panic...sometimes...if u r unlucky...

QUOTE(misa @ Mar 3 2007, 01:00 AM) Yeah, keep us updated! ...I was using my mbp just now and I noticed that the left speaker distorts at certain levels...damnit. It's not even at full volume! And I was just saying how I don't ever want to send it in for service! ;0;! Cheh. P/s: I don't know whether this is the right place to ask but well, I guess this relates to hardware issues as well. Can I play Quake 4 on the mbp? Or do I need to upgrade the system? Mine's the 2.16ghz unit. If not, haih, what kind of games can I play on the mbp? Anyone's installed any on their mbp without upgrading it? Sorry for the blur question, I'm asking because I'm a console gamer and I have no freakin' idea about pc/mac gaming but I want to try to play quake 4 on the mbp if possible lol. xD; well if u are playing the universal version...then it shud be fine...=).. i m playing warcraft 3 on my mbp... havent tried any other games...

QUOTE(misa @ Mar 4 2007, 06:58 AM) Thanks guys. I'll need to preorder Quake 4 from www.macgame.com.my. Will post whether it's any good on the mbp once I give it a try. What exactly is the arm rest or skin protector for the mbp? What does it protect? The area next to the track pad? Is that where it's supposed to be placed at? ...gosh, I need to go shopping for more stuff for the mbp. All I purchased was the ACPP, the keyboard dust cover thing and a lappie sleeve. misa, the armrest protects the area beside the trackpad...it's a good idea to protect the area... because...if u rest ur hands too much on it...the part will be dirty n discoloured... since u r shopping for mbp stuffs...try looking for a trackpade protector too...=)

QUOTE(misa @ Mar 4 2007, 05:47 PM) Great, thanks for the info. I'll look for the trackpad protector as well as the armrest. I should be able to get it from Mac Asia right? ...sometimes I hate expensive gadgets because you have to just care for it so damn much. xD; Blargh. u can try macasia...they are selling it a bit cheaper...but always out of stock... i still havent got mine yet...dang! or u can try machines...they have more choice...n a bit more expensive...=) yes yes...true... expensive gadgets....u need to spend even more to care for it... ... it's worth it...unless ur cash flows in like water and can replace the mbp anytime...

QUOTE(Mavik @ Aug 3 2007, 12:01 PM) Hey mate, I noticed that you have a MacBook Pro. Do you do your photography touchup on the MBP? How is the performance of Photoshop CS2/CS3 on the MBP? Compared to your Intel E6600 PC. I am contemplating whether should I just upgrade my desktop computer or get a MBP. I am leaning closer to a MBP as I would like to be able to touch up photos on the go as well as I do some sort of video editing (mostly slideshows). Any help would be great. Anyone else has any comments as well? Thanks! i havent tried cs3 on my mac... but i use flash, dreamweaver, fireworks....n all of them work well in rosetta and also in parallels... quite fast and comparable to the speed of my e6600 rig...
