thats true there's no 'ori' Apple ram...
but there are 'certified' Apple rams...
of coz these certified things are more expensive...but they are tested to fully work on a mac...
some of those untested rams...would give kernel panic...sometimes...if u r unlucky...

The amount of RAM needed depends on what ur using ur MB/MBP for - it's not a product defect.  I've no complains so far - no major problems with my system... thank God  biggrin.gif
*
yes it is tru what u r saying abt ram.
the defects i was refering to was on hardware - powercable megasafe burn, flikering lcd n etc which many ppl complain so far ard the net.
anyway perhaps those were the earlier mb
also the early batch mbp has heating issue.

but at least so far most of us are not the 'lucky' ones wink.gif

anyway, anyone want to volunteer to post the desktop setup print screen?

siaukia,
At the very least, Apple Malaysia knows of what's happening out there. It's probably true they're trying to resolve the matter between you and their authorised reseller/dealer. Just try giving the shop a call and speak to someone who's authorised to make decisions.

If you can't get it resolved, give Apple Malaysia a call again or take further drastic action. Do it now especially since you also have your friends' MB as proof to make your case stronger.

For the time being and for the rest, do NOT send your Apple products to this Apple shop at Amcorp Mall for repairs unsure.gif

siaukia, damn, sorry to hear about your macbook. i hate it when i have to send out stuff for repairs because it always comes back scratched. it happened with my dvd player, my walkman, my tv when i sent it to best denki for a repair. i bought the apple care protection plan and that's gonna last me for the next three years but hell, i'm hoping that i don't ever have to send it in for any service. i'm so careful not to scratch the damn thing, it'll be really crappy if i send it out for a repair and it comes back looking like its been given a whole new face -- a bad one.

hopefully you'll be able to get the cover changed. i think wizardboy is right, the next time anyone sends out their macbook for a repair, please take photographs of your mbp and be sure to pass it on to the person repairing it as well, telling him that you expect it to come back looking like that and if not... : / well, maybe that's proof enough for them to at least get your mbp fixed up if they wreck it. sad.gif

very thanks for the advice and replies, haih, at least someone here also feels me and my fren's pain. but of coz if this case gets resolved, at least theres no more pointing finger and everyones has their trust back at apple

but if this is left like...ohh...'let it be' loh kind of attitude, with supposingly you spent so much to buy this premium product also makes no diff with other cap ayam brand on the market. and this totally destroy's the image mr steve job trying to build.

lets hope for the best. may the world be with me. will drive to apple malaysia tomorrow to find them. amen.

Yeah, keep us updated! ...I was using my mbp just now and I noticed that the left speaker distorts at certain levels...damnit. It's not even at full volume! And I was just saying how I don't ever want to send it in for service! ;0;! Cheh.

P/s: I don't know whether this is the right place to ask but well, I guess this relates to hardware issues as well. Can I play Quake 4 on the mbp? Or do I need to upgrade the system? Mine's the 2.16ghz unit. blush.gif If not, haih, what kind of games can I play on the mbp? Anyone's installed any on their mbp without upgrading it? Sorry for the blur question, I'm asking because I'm a console gamer and I have no freakin' idea about pc/mac gaming but I want to try to play quake 4 on the mbp if possible lol. xD;

macbook setup is 2X512ram. anyone want my macbook ram can pm me. i might consider selling it.
now my mac macbook c2d 2.0 ghz and 2gb ram. envy? guess what, super fast load for many application like large movie files, email which my mailbox has ard close to 1k of mails + attachments.

btw, i bought the skin like protector for macbook kb n arm rest for 35buck ! u can get it at IT mall. it's much better then those selling at mac shop. thin, cover almost every area and it's cheap.

Thanks guys. I'll need to preorder Quake 4 from www.macgame.com.my. Will post whether it's any good on the mbp once I give it a try.

What exactly is the arm rest or skin protector for the mbp? What does it protect? The area next to the track pad? Is that where it's supposed to be placed at? ...gosh, I need to go shopping for more stuff for the mbp. All I purchased was the ACPP, the keyboard dust cover thing and a lappie sleeve. tongue.gif

misa,
the armrest protects the area beside the trackpad...it's a good idea to protect the area...
because...if u rest ur hands too much on it...the part will be dirty n discoloured...
since u r shopping for mbp stuffs...try looking for a trackpade protector too...=)

I really don't think there's a need for an arm rest or track pad protector, is there?

Anyone using a trackpad protector? How does it feel? And are u suppose to stick something on ur trackpad or is it like the keyboard protector which feels rubbery but yet u can take it off anytime cause it's not sticking to the keyboard?

went there, knew its not open, but at least know its there, going to take 1 day leave and find them if still no action from phone.

tinkerbel : the keyboard protector actually really annoying after a while, it proteects from dust, but when you type, it tend to stick so well to the keys that it actually affects typing speed, that it actually stucks sometimes. not really stuck but you need to 'aim' properly at the key else it wont register.
so i just use the protector when i'm not using my macbook to cover it from dust, or for casual use, i'll just put it on, if long hours, i'll take it off, since i remembered my friend said the keyboard hole is one of the part they allow air flow out from the procs
