Just got myself a 15.4" MacBook Pro. Having been used to Windows, it's going to be a bit tough to make the switch. ><; Glad to see a thread for the MacBook Pro here. : )

QUOTE(wizardboy @ Mar 1 2007, 01:24 AM) haha welcome to mac world. xD an apple a day keeps the blue screen away. that's a good saying! i love the Mac because i'll never have to deal with virus issues again. well, that's what i heard and i'm hoping that it rings true. much to learn, i have." an apple a day keeps the blue screen away " anyway, macbook pro is a fantastic machine. how's the heating issue.. is it that hot? my 12" powerbook previously feels like cooking my lap. i'm happy with 13" macbook but as u know.. limitation with the graphic chipset and ram (compared to macbook pro 3gb max) makes me like want to wack apple for not coming out 13" macbook pro. i need something light n small as i frequently moving n travel. with regards to the heating issue, i think the macbook pros are okay. i can leave it on my lap for an hour or two and not have it burn my skin unlike a lot of other laptops. but! i try to use a table as much as possible anyways. i have this problem with the macbook though, when i'm charging the batt, i'm always getting static or electrical spikes when i use it because of the metallic surfaces on the mbp. i don't know if i'm the only one experiencing this. but damn, it's annoying. |

That place famous with their friendly customer service, right?
So what you want to do now? I don't think if you go back to their place they will (mengaku) their fault anymore. And I don't think they'll change your MB to new one. I send my MB to Axis Computer at S14, PJ, so far quite satisfy with their service. I will take this as a lesson. Actually when I send my MB for service (3 times already!), I always tell them to take a very good care of it |

@misa,
With the Mighty Mouse you probably will end up using the Mighty Mouse more than the trackpad... I put myself through the agony of learning how to use the trackpad (I was never a touch pad user to begin with!) and i THINK i'm getting the hang of it - at least i've less cables to carry |

QUOTE(wizardboy @ Mar 1 2007, 01:08 PM) gosh.. How did u get the conclusion that MacBook is bad?MB is that bad ? now this scarry i've good words for apple product n i hope my macbook will not give me a pain in the a@@ later All i will say is 512MB ram is not enough... i am gonna add a stick of 1GB to my MB when i goes to Lowyat in coming weeks... Fancy looks? Fancy desktop, functionability etc etc ... Mac OS X has it all .. ** still no chance to test out my WIFI .... didn't really bother to go CoffeeBean or Starbuck to try it... hmmmmmm and most of the WIFI router around my area is "secured" .. |

Maybe you need to do a little wardriving if you are desperate to test it out , just careful to not stay too long until ppl complain |

i did not conclude say mb is bad. just that i read so many ppl complaining abt it... some with bad flickering lcd screen n etc. hopefully after almost a year they have improve their poduct.
yes 512ram never been enough. even i have 1gig of ram but i think i need another gig. vista is another copy of macOS X but then again they'll b some debate on it. anyway, that's depend on the individual. btw, u could get ur own wireless router to test on |

The amount of RAM needed depends on what ur using ur MB/MBP for - it's not a product defect. I've no complains so far - no major problems with my system... thank God

I went to LYP last weekend, the prices of 1GB SO-DIMMs have dropped to the RM235 per piece level. Cheap enough to go for 2GB RAM!!!

QUOTE(KTay @ Mar 1 2007, 04:44 PM) There's no such thing as ori Apple RAM. Apple uses Hynix and a few other OEM brands but they're basically DDR2-667 RAM.This was KVR. I've been using them in my Mac Mini, C2D Macbook for some months without problems (although I bought them back when they were RM400 apiece). |
