I've read somewhere that they even underclock your c2d intel processor to reduce heat.

Eh, if you open up your macbook/macbook pro to upgrade let's say, adding ram, does this void your warranty?

QUOTE(pukarix @ Nov 30 2006, 07:05 AM) haih..been waiting for my macbook c2d since 20thNovember..ordered it online(not in malaysia)...getting fed up with apple already..called them, they say it should arrive...called TNT(which handles the logistics) they say apple havent sent them any macbook....wargh....getting impatient....feel like cancelling my order n go buy it straight at the shop...but i would lose my student rebate... O.O will be seriously interested in that if not for it's lateness delivery of yours. Where did you buy it and how much was the rebate?EDIT: May i know the macbook pro's x1600 mobility radeon with 128mb is comparable with which Nvidia card? I'm not familiar with ATI gpu. And can i know the gaming quality when running bootcamp on macbookpro? Wanna make myself sure before getting a macbook pro cause i saw an ad on hp dv9002tx. QUOTE(yetieater @ Nov 30 2006, 05:28 PM) Benchmarks put the X1600 in the MBP as being able to pump out at least 60 FPS constant in Counter-Strike: Source. Bumping clock speeds up to stock speeds instead of the throttled speeds that Apple imposes boosts performance considerably. Expect around 80 FPS with high settings, 1024x768 if I'm not mistaken. Thanks much, that means i'll be able to play battlefield 2142 on bootcamp then =)Here's some quick reading, just a thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=47449 Seems like the X1600 is comparable to the NVIDIA 7600, if you're familiar with that card. |

Don't think there would be a 12" mbp because of airflow issues with the chassis of the laptop. Might be a macbook though.
If it's a macbook pro it might be the lame intel gma950 integrated graphics card instead of the ati discreet card. This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 6 2006, 10:50 AM |

Guys, if installing bootcamp on Mac, windows must use full version or OEM version also can? Full version so expensive T.T ... Apple website doesn't say it. Thanks in advance.
Taken this from Apple website: QUOTE A bona fide installation disc for Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home or Professional (No multi-disc, upgrade or Media Center versions.) No multidisc means must use dvd version? This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 8 2006, 10:28 AM |

Hey guys, i'm still kinda new at apple and i was wondering if windows runs natively on mac like they run on wintel machines?
I'm eyeing macbook pro as a mobile multimedia/decent gaming rig as in running bf2142 with mid~high level graphic settings. And i need to know whether the gaming performance [EDIT] on windows running bootcamp is same as wintel gaming machines with same specs. Thanks yea, in advance This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 20 2006, 04:17 PM |

Yes, macbook will be able to support dota and cs. Just run it under bootcamp.
If you ask the shop to upgrade to 2gb from 1gb, roughly about rm800~rm1k. You can do it yourself though, alot websites got pictorial guides to teach you. The price should be the same to upgrade either 1. The mid-level macbook should do the trick since the blackbook's difference with the mid-level macbook is only additional 40GB of hdd size. And since you're gonna be playing cs, you wouldn't want the mighty mouse. Any windows optical mouse will work with macs. This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 20 2006, 04:15 PM |

Only if you're running graphic-intensive stuff or surfing graphic-intensive websites, games, and graphic-intensive videos. Other than that, like email, surf web like LYN should be okay, you wouldn't know the difference unless you pay good attention.
