You should report via SKMM instead of CFM. CFM is actually under SKMM, therefore you should know who has the bigger authority.

Personally, I have positive feedbacks regarding SKMM.

1. Maxis mobile internet user having problem accessing Clash of Clans game. It was blocked by Maxis out of the blue. After almost 1month++ of rage through Maxis forum, SKMM report by a group of users, it was rectified.

2. OKU discount for Home Fibre. Signed up for Maxis Home but before installation, Maxis already removed it. Waiting for more than a month before the installation commence. After that, they billed me the normal price. They did not rectify it after 2-3 trips to Maxis Center, and I went straight with SKMM. Took just a week to get it done

The thing is that once you go the SKMM route, your case will be handled by another department in Maxis, specialized for SKMM or high priority customer service (My guess since the person in charge of your case will keep calling back to update from time to time). They will call you back in few days time after the first email confirmation from SKMM staff.

If you asked me, I think Maxis throttle the connection is very likely. I noticed that I have no problem accessing the sites which load up pretty fast. Even when uploading to Youtube or Amazon Cloud itself, it is pretty good. Just the downloading sucks. I cant think of anything other than an evil handbrake.
*
Hmm if that's the case, I guess I'll just file up another case under SKMM (since CFM's one still "under investigation"). Thanks for the heads up wink.gif

My hse in Juru fiber totally dead since this morning. Called up Maxis, they claim need 48 hours to fix. Most likely external fault, either port dead or outside cabling issue... modem not getting any signal. Fiber cable has no light

Maxis rents fibre wholesale from TM. If those using streamyx or Unifil have problems, the same goes to Maxis fibre.
SKMM should check on TM instead of just blasting telcos. For example, I signed up for 4Mbps streamyx but in less than 1 year, the download speed decreased from 3.65Mbps to 1.6Mbps. I suspect they are not adding capacity eventhough they are already suffering network congestion.
The CEO of Maxis said in an interview: "it is challenging to work with TM"

Many have problem with international traffics and not local, the fibre is only for the end of mile and not the international link. So, no .. Maxis should bucks up and fix their international routing now.

2) Max speed for my unit is 1MBps, because apparently going to 4mbps will affect the stability of unifi there so they refuse to upgrade my streamyx. -.-
Mmmm..... Streamyx 1 to 4mb still using copper, that's why unstable. But how can it impact the stability of unifi? That is why to move to fibre as it is more stable. Who said refuse to upgrade my streamyx?

Maxis not only utilize the last mile, but also the traffic from tm. The only part they put in is the authentication server and connectivity to their astro iptv. But i suspect they have put in qos and/or policies which may impact the surf experience.

UniFi seems ok. Even though the last mile is shared, it takes quite a lot to deliver broadband. Domestic IP network and International connection. Maxis (and other operators in Malaysia) still purchases bandwidth from other carriers as they do not have their own submarine cables etc... As such per GB price for Maxis is more expensive than TM. Last I heard, the Home business losses is increasing by the year.

I do not think TM needs to be blamed. If Maxis wants to be in this game (or pretends to be), then they should either buck up their network connectivity or don't undercut the pricing to give the perception of giving away more (but in reality they throttle traffic quietly at the back-end).

Morten needs to shake up the Home team for lack of ingenuity... Fix broadband is not like mobile where you can throw prices and expect people to shift...

either way, maxis really need improve their network, especially international.. my internet is experiencing internet drop in term of speed.. even using speedtest in local, i only get 8.45mbps.. usually get 10mbps max.. and tm really need to upgrade their international bandwidth to support other telcos..

Hah.. as the rest, maxis came back today saying that they're experiencing this problem due to routing upgrade which will probably done sometime in end of this month. So, nothing much we could do for now. Guess they're closing my case too.

aah, may i ask which dns/vpn are you using? sorry if you've posted before.

how do you check if its 720p? i just see if its clear or not..

if i enable hd, it buffers and then streams, the picture quality is very clear on a 50", but im afraid my cpu is not up to the task. so after a while, the audio doensn't sync.

So i've pretty much turned off hd, but the picture quality is quite good nevertheless.

However on hulu+ i'm able to stream hd very well.

I don't do itunes, so i can't comment.

thanks

Cannot verify, but the 720p is based on my eye perception. Using tunlr dns

Mine seems to be okay too now. No more buffering at least and the quality is quite goo too just now. How long it will last? I've no idea. FB videos seem to be fine too, I could play them now.

Logged in to the Thomson router yesterday to reboot it (need to do this everytime wifi gets wonky) and to my surprise, they push a firmware upgrade to it. New interface with green color. I don't know what does it improves (wifi still wonky now and then).
