Agreed .. Maxis FTTH is now totally useless to watch Hulu or Netflix. And loading photos & video from FB took ages. If you're not interested on streaming, then FTTH is a okay. BTW, I can feel the lag on my office VPN to UK too, will wait for few more weeks, if this still happening, might pay RM500 and jump back to Unifi.
i think i'm fortunate.. mine has been pretty good. I'm getting the speeds i signed up for. So no complains.
Jumped on the netflix and hulu+ bandwagon lately. and initially the experience was so so... No HD...
But have been spending late night stuffing around. and i think its because the technicolor router is not so good when it comes to dns stuff. Either that or i have something lagging up my system that i haven't discovered.
With vpn no problem with hd, so i was always wondering why. So its seems the added router works..
By the way it reminds me of my old unifi days... when we had to do something like this too.
Perhaps someone can share.
Anyway i bridged up another router to the technicolor and its seems to do quite well now.. So far keeping me fingers crossed.
Not an elegant solution for now, but it works.
As for fb, don't do much of that. so i can't comment.
Have you complained to maxis. They do try to help, although at times they may seem inadequate.
