Update:

as the wheels dried up and i was applying tire/rubber dressing, i took a few rubs with my fingers between the rim spokes and crevices. sadly there are still some dirt, however its really light and just mere water is capable of washing them off my fingers easily.

bear in mind though, it's around 3 weeks no car wash (i think since TT? LOL), a lot of spirited driving (which means a lot of hard braking) including a touge trip at genting sempah/genting highlands/karak just 2 days ago (friday night saturday morning) and again, no scrubbing or whatsoever at all

now... where can i get more of that product? need a gallon or something keeping stock 
oh and what should i do with the wheel brush

Did you mean the Sonax? Wow....even I couldn't make it work as good as you made it sound like. Hrrmmm....maybe another re-visit is in order. Oh...and yeah you would need to use it LIBERALLY and leave it to do it's work for a minute or two (or longer). But it's expensive stuff man...and the dealer already ran out of the 5L container (the one that you saw).

thanks to sifu KrisMas i totally found the holy grail of wheel cleaner:

basically sonax wheel cleaner and/or megs WB combo (atm i'm using TW until i can get my hands on megs)

1) just the sonax alone, spray product (i spray a lot, basically almost finished KrisMas febreeze in just 2 front wheels, rear drums anyways)
2) leave on 30sec - 1min +/-
3) water down (slightly high pressure)

VOILA CLEAN NO NEED SCRUBBING LOL

i then proceed to spray some TW wheel cleaner (http://www.turtlewax.com/detail-F21%20Wheel%20Cleaner-44-117.aspx) just to further wash off sonax and whatever else that sonax loosened up (but isn't meant to clean, kinda complicated and it took a while for krismas to explain it to me haha) and yeah, i finally get what everyone meant by sonax wheel cleaner's smell LOL

anyways after i did a second water down for the TW wheel cleaner (obviously did this for the rear wheels as well haha), i did a minor test by poking in my finger to the rotors, did a few rubs on the surface and guess what...


i totally and absolutely no longer need to use the wheel brush anymore! effectively cut down AT LEAST 20-30 minutes on scrubbing all 4 wheels!

now... where can i get more of that product? need a gallon or something keeping stock

Quazacolt your wheel brush, I would like to "buy" it. But I'll need trial period of few weeks.

It's very expensive and you need to have deep pockets to use it every wash! Just do a proper cleaning of your wheels and then seal it up with a sealant or wax. Subsequent washes will only need shampoo and minor agitation.

IMO, no matter how strong or good the wheel cleaner is, some agitation is still required to leave a spotless surface.

ah so i didnt really overspray it or something; noted will leave it longer next time for more lazy wheel cleaning

Just use enough to make sure you spray it on every single inch of the areas you're cleaning

The retail price I think you already know la...around RM80 for 500ml. I'm afraid you won't be able to get the 5L one over here......yet

Oh....how about trying out one of those spray waxes on the rims. Might not last a week but it is very convenient and doesn't take much time. I used to apply sealants on the wheels (before all these spray waxes came out) but surrender also....just too much hasle and one round of APC wash and it's all gone. And none of the coatings (except for one) that I tested also won't last more than a month.....

that is an... OK price if i don't have to squat/bend down and spent few minutes per wheel! getting old la dey, back/knee/ass pain LOL
btw got anywhere retailing? maybe can get a few bottles or something while we wait for the 5L? Eneos got sell Sonax product, but wafak they didn't sell the AWESOME wheel cleaner

hmm, yea maybe could give those a try. what kinda spray waxes you recommend? optimum? megs?

actually, i cant exactly spray directly, right? else waxes would get onto my rotors and i'd be having f***ed brakes for a while LOL!

if so, might as well just go for liquid waxes?

Don't know if any of the 'pasaraya' have them. Maybe you can ask Sonax Malaysia directly in their fb page, or just go straight to them at SS18, Subang jaya.

I guess, for the wheels, any cheaper ones would do la...I heard that TW Wax It Wet is decent enough (but don't know the price though). Megs Ultimate Quick Wax, Duragloss Aquawax or Optimum Car Wax (I heard that this one's local price shot up quite a bit already) would be good. It'll also be more affordable if you can get the bigger size one and share it out (if you know what I mean....tehehe).

Yes, you don't spray it on the wheels. Spray on cloth and wipe it on - like using a quick detailer (so you'd still need to SQUAT ).

haha maybe i can do simple wipes on the wheels prior to applying the wax (since there are still some bits of dirt on the spokes/crevices, and what arj said earlier basically)

hmm can maybe try out with megs... was thinking optimum, but lol everyone is on that bandwagon so i supposed that's no surprise the price shot up.

Looking at duragloss, that seems like a damn good option too since it's a sealant, and its only rm43! (well slightly less than 500ml, but hey, can always order the gallon since that option is readily available from their website)
i'm leaning towards duragloss since the gallon option is much readily available compared to lol megs

Nah....you're more than welcome to keep that 'stinky' bottle...just make sure you don't mistakenly grab it and spray it on the sofa or something...
