What job? For posting those two sentences???

Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to do them properly. I think I'm sticking with physical work like washing my car(s) and leave all these 'tech' stuffs to you guys la.....

Anyway. Just hope this one would 'prosper' much like its predecessor.....
*
regardless still a good job, more so if you're not tech/forum savvy! tongue.gif

and with the participants as with previous thread, im pretty sure v3 can happen very soon as well XD

mini-guide on watermarked/blurry windscreens courtesy from krismas and other forumers who provided tip on v1 thread previously:

oh prior to the singapore trip with family, the 4 to 5 hours of detailing work on the nissan sentra totally paid off:
rained all the way back from singapore to KL Malaysia, and the windscreen/windows /side mirrors was repelling water splendidly!
barely need to turn on the wiper at all as the wind from the car's speed is enough to repel most, if not all of the rain.

method
- full car wash (including rim scrubbing lol, might as well right?)
- using foam pad + tooth paste and slowly scrub the windscreen
- after water rinse/wash, microfiber cloth + vinegar slowly wipe/scrub the windscreen > water rinse/wash again (at this point you'll notice water is beginning to sheet off properly
- some light claying using only water as lube
- microfiber cloth + apply/wipe around the windscreen with turtle wax glass cleaner, let dry then microfiber cloth to buff/remove residues (you can start to use hand/plastic bag test to feel on the windscreen)
- last step = apply rain x with microfiber cloth, let dry/cure and buff/remove residue x2

result = water hates your windscreen now thumbup.gif
oh and rain x water beading result is quite pretty too lolz
sorry no pics since was speeding and family's safety is a priority (yes i know that isn't saying much since i was speeding sweat.gif )

btw thread pinned wink.gif

Nice one Quazacolt.

Been using RainX for ages now and can't seem to find any other product that works as well and as economical (value for money) on front windscreen. There are now 'coatings' for glass but they are so d*** expensive and just not economical to use. I'm currently testing Aquapel. It's still beading on my front windscreen after 6 months but, even when freshly applied, it still can't beat the way RainX 'scares' water away, even at low speed (50km/h ~ 60km/h).
*
EXACTLY.

other products *MAY* work better, however as you said, d*** expensive lol.
and yea water and rain x are strong enemies rolleyes.gif

mom actually likes it (and in a way appreciates that i actually picked up car detailing as another hobby lol) as she doesn't have to use the wiper as frequently especially when her wipers are long overdue for replacement (rubber, over 3 years, some parts torn, squeaks like mad and barely wipes off anything) thumbup.gif

Hi guys.

Ran out of car wash soap and would like some suggestion for:

1. car wash soap
2. last step product (for protection, shine, and beading)
3. tar remover (some people say use wd40..but i sked)
4. watermark remover (some people say use vinegar)
*
1) cheapo ones can try sonax/turtle/mothers
more expensive would be meguiar's or other brands mentioned
2) same as 1)
3) consider quick detailer products such as meguiar's ultimate quick detailer
4) refer first page for my guide.

i'm actually trying to speed up my current processes. As of now, a normal maintenance wash (with detailer or wax topper) for me takes about 2-2.5 hours (the latter if I'm scrubbing and waxing my wheels).
*
that's my main concern too laugh.gif

i take more time to do my maintenance if include waxing (and of course scrubbing wheels as i brake hard, rofl. and glasses as i want crystal clear visibility as i sometimes even speed in rain/wet conditions) , about 3-4hour ish cry.gif

*
parkson selayang mall had some transparent pail, however not fully transparent, got color

still serve the purpose of able to peer in and see how high the dirt level is and avoid them while rinsing my MF sponge/cloth etc

thanks bro. do they come in sizes that will accommodate a grit guard?
*
eh i think it isnt that vital for grit guard to fit perfectly? because it is to prevent your cloth from reaching (or stirring the water enough for the dirt to rise instead) the dirt that sinks underneath where without, one may do so by accident

so long the bucket isn't in some odd shape and has the minimal gallon amount that grit guard specifies, i think it should be fine

hmmm.. i'm so gonna get RainX after I've used up my NXT glass cleaner tongue.gif
*
almost a month already (pre cny lol), and mom being lazy (and me reluctant to give a shit on a car that isn't mine lol), the car haven't been washed since i did pre CNY

rain-x is still performing well... for something in the low 10/20's in ringgits lol.

Dang....tell you what....you find yourself a few guys....look for a place that have proper shade (under a porch would do)....arrange for one fine SUNDAY morning when everybody can get-together and I'll bring over a scrap panel, a rotary, a DA, a 'normal' ROB (Bosch) and the Bigfoot. You guys can have a go at it all day if you want, just promise not to throw them at each other.
*
eh if the session really happen i'd like to join too tongue.gif

Somebody need to lead this then....mav3rick?

Btw...it won't be the 'clinic' thingy la...more like a get-together and knowledge-sharing session. I'm no sifu and hardly a good 'teacher'.... sweat.gif
But I can invite a 'trainer' if you guys are interested...I might just know somebody that could be willing to 'help out'....
*
not you ah? laugh.gif

no need to be a "clinic" or serious as hell TT/session (i'm not too keen on that either, and for the guy bringing all the tools, you're bound to be that "teacher" which would assumably make it 'un-fun' for you)
simple casual TT/session with the opportunity to get to know on better detailing equipment/options/techniques is fine enough for me thumbup.gif

=edit=
eh realized i missed a t lol

pressure washer....

hmm since the dirt's dried up, i can just bring it out to give a few whacking and it'll do. if i want to wash them i'll need to dry them for a day under the sun and that'll be a hassle for non weekends sweat.gif (i just washed my 2 cars yesterday night/this morning starting 11pm until 4am+ LOL!)

heheh...just saying la. Well...everything is about 'time'. I also seldom do it. But when I do and have the time, the PW had worked well so far. I was surprised to see how much dirt the PW was able to 'pull' out from what look to be like a clean mat.....
*
hmm do you reckon if i need to get a PW myself? although the current gardening hose (with an adjustable spray gun) is able to use that "laser-like" spray that do put out some respectable pressure for my rims haha (rarely uses it as it splashes around the place too damn much and i'll easily get wet from it lol)

but yea, considering i have to wash car in the middle of the night despite having to wake up in a few hours later for work, you can see how tight i am for time sweat.gif
