What job? For posting those two sentences???
Took me 10 minutes to figure out how to do them properly. I think I'm sticking with physical work like washing my car(s) and leave all these 'tech' stuffs to you guys la..... Anyway. Just hope this one would 'prosper' much like its predecessor..... This post has been edited by KrisMas: Feb 27 2013, 10:41 AM |

WOW...AG EGP..??!! I haven't seen that being used (or rather posted on-line locally) for a loooooonggg time.....
But....errr....isn't EGP for protection (sealant)? SRP is the one for swirls right? Or did you use something else for them? |

Nice one Quazacolt.
Been using RainX for ages now and can't seem to find any other product that works as well and as economical (value for money) on front windscreen. There are now 'coatings' for glass but they are so d*** expensive and just not economical to use. I'm currently testing Aquapel. It's still beading on my front windscreen after 6 months but, even when freshly applied, it still can't beat the way RainX 'scares' water away, even at low speed (50km/h ~ 60km/h). |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ Mar 1 2013, 10:44 AM) hahaha.. i wanted to get their Micro Rejuvenator Microfiber Detergent Concentrate since i always machine was my MF. sigh.. dont think its likely anymore since shipping fee is a killer.. QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Mar 1 2013, 01:31 PM) Beat me to it....terribly expensive though....QUOTE(mav3rick @ Mar 1 2013, 10:57 AM) ehehe.. guys, i'm still kinda noobie in terms of detailing, hence still have several questions on the following: 1. not how long...but how hard you apply pressure. Since you're not trying to do any correction, just lightly would do...like applying wax but more passes.1) Ultimate Polish The instructions say to work the product into the paint and not allow it to dry. My question is, how long do i need to work the product if i'm not removing any minor swirls? 2) Ultimate Liquid Wax I'm been somewhat lazy, the instructions recommend 2 coats of the product but so far i've only been applying one.. all help is most appreciated 2. I'd normally try to leave any wax/sealant overnight or a few hours of 'baking' under the sun before/if doing another layer..... |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ Mar 1 2013, 04:38 PM) thanks for the advise. regarding no 2, if you leave it overnight, do you use a qd to wipeoff first before you apply the 2nd layer? Only if I see much dirt settling on the surface (more worried on horizontal then vertical surfaces). Or else I'd just go lightly with a *very* plush mf before layering....panel by panel. |

QUOTE(jackal400 @ Mar 2 2013, 01:56 AM) So, Mr.Krismas, I haven't seen your detailing work for quite some time, any interesting shots coming up soon ? Well...if you wanna see my car again...the same car...I can post it up....hehehe.....QUOTE(bakry @ Mar 2 2013, 10:37 AM) Question on Rain-X Errr...what's a 'read' window? If you mean rear window (windscreen) then it just fine. But if you mean rearview (side) mirror...well...I also heard people saying don't. I've used it a couple of times already and so far no detrimental effects noticed (but remember, if it works it doesn't mean that it's right). You might want to stick to dedicated products if you're worried. Glaco has a dedicated product for mirrors...but a couple of guys using it says it doesn't work as good or last as long (though I think they were comparing it with RainX....).Can we use it on the read window as well? Some ppl say its ok, some say i shouldnt. |

I learned to close an eye and live with it (in the mean time, also learning to do touch-ups properly..
Preventive actions: Clear bra....good ones are so d*** expensive. Next best...plastidip...also expensive.... Next...avoid tail gating or following the car in front too close.... Re-spray options: DuPont High Solid...add clear bra for 'extra protection', of course...but no $$$$ la..... |

I've gotten a paintshop supplier (automotive) to blend me a small can of matching color paints for both my cars. Tried twice...failed on both occasions... they look worse than before 'touch-ups'....*sad*

Not much different from NXT except (maybe) a little bit less cleaner in it. No problem applying by hand. Haven't really used it with a machine (rotary)...only had used it with my bosch ROB. And yeah.....durability (beading) sucks.....

QUOTE(mav3rick @ Mar 5 2013, 05:42 PM) isn't the 101 a compound?? does it work better than the 205 in terms of polishing? By hand, M101 can do both....can finish just as nice....btw, seems like the M21 doesn't look that promising. I think i better stick to my ULW. What sealants are you using, if you dont mind me asking Haven't been using any sealant for quite a while now....MUAHAHAHA..... oh...but if you're looking for a good sealant...you might wanna try Menz Power Lock.....
