Huawei is a new player in telecommunication industry, Famous with switches and router (used to be Cisco manufacturer). Office located in Petronas twin tower.

I went for the interview before as a provisioning and deployment engineer, successfully employed but turn down the offer due to relocation in Brunei. Their project mainly based in developing countries such as Indonesia, India, Myanmar, and UAE.

They prefer experience worker and willing to travel and relocation. Benefit wise, can't compare to other telco vendors such as Siemens, Ericsson, or Motorola. Labor turnover sure high as people switch to Cisco, Siemens, Ericsson, Motorola, or Operator such as TIME, MAXIS,Digi, Celcom.

For technical position, they only interested in E&E engineering, multimedia computing, and telecommunication engineering.Interview came with very technical test such as OSI layer, TCP/IP, IP calculation, and essay question.

The best time I was told is that the company is not yet listed. Imagine how much you'll make if this company is listed on Nasdaq or Hong Kong?

Huawei targeting developing countries with low budget implementation cost. Developed countries mostly deal with Siemens, Motorola, or Ericsson.

It's true, when the developed countries were then developing countries, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, LG etc are the main players in the field. So now, when all these countries are now developed countries, they are still using the equipment and services provided by those companies. Swapping equipment might cause problems to the system. Most operators will not take the risk eventhough it's cheaper etc. But some will do a slow and partially swapping anyway.

If you are applying engineer position, they prefer E&E engineering, Multimedia Computing and also telecommunication engineering field.

Or you need to have very strong experience in telecommunication field, either vendors or operators.

Recently I have one colleague working as technician in Maxis switch to Huawei become support engineer getting around RM 2800 only.

I think the easiest way to apply is to jobstreet...i did mine in jobstreet. I submitted my resume through jobstreet and 2 days later they called up for interview. So go to jobstreet and submit ur resume. Or u can go to their website www.huawei.com and look for careers and register and submit ur resume there...
