QUOTE(AkiraX @ Mar 24 2006, 09:30 PM) "Frequent travelling = 1-2 months" means that travel once in 1-2 month? that's ok for me.. I think it is heavy travelling for 1-2 months (stay 1-2 months in a country). Frequency probably like above 5 times a year. You can always ask your interviewer to where you might go and the coverage of the travelling area ... different companies have it differently. |

QUOTE(William_Yeo @ Mar 25 2006, 12:18 AM) hi guys, great to tell u all that i goin to work in Huawei-3com in this coming monday ! From the Huawei site, you can see that Huawei Tech deals with more than just data communication equipment and devices. It basically covers all telecommunication equipment from fixed, mobile to data networks. So, Huawei is comparable to SIEMENS, ERICSSON, LUCENT, & MOTOROLA.ther is 2 division for huawei, Huawei Technologies and Huawei-3Com. Huawei Technologies is located @ KLCC and Huawei-3Com is located @ menara CITIBANK. both of them dealing wif networkin devices like CISCO..... |

Huawei is a multi national corporation in telecommunication industry.
It should hire people from all levels, such as technical, marketing, account, finance, admin, logistic, legal, etc etc. Huawei is not an IT company. Network Engineer is categorized under telcom as well. What the heck with CCNA/CCNP/CCIE? Cisco and Huawei are rivals in datacom field ^^;; Company that involves in implementation of networks with Cisco equipment will take people with CCNA/CCNP/CCIE. However, such cert will be added advantage in some sense. This post has been edited by p4n6: Mar 31 2006, 12:53 AM |

QUOTE(mner @ Mar 31 2006, 07:05 AM) It is a good company, my friend has been working there for more than 3 years. I got bad reviews from friends. Which department your friend's in?Well, there are bad things in the company, you have to compare the value between what you get and the bad things in the company. Which is greater, that will over come your hateness towards the company, hahahaha. |

QUOTE(gettingthere @ May 2 2006, 04:25 PM) How much travelling is there in Huawei? Let say, one month how many days does you guys travel overseas? Is the US40 daily allowance covers supposed to cover everything, from laundry, food, taxi etc? You should ask, "in one year, how many weeks I will be in Malaysia".Thanks |

QUOTE(spie @ May 19 2006, 02:10 PM) Huawei targeting developing countries with low budget implementation cost. Developed countries mostly deal with Siemens, Motorola, or Ericsson. It's true, when the developed countries were then developing countries, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Samsung, LG etc are the main players in the field. So now, when all these countries are now developed countries, they are still using the equipment and services provided by those companies. Swapping equipment might cause problems to the system. Most operators will not take the risk eventhough it's cheaper etc. But some will do a slow and partially swapping anyway.Price War, |

QUOTE(b|ue @ May 30 2007, 02:28 PM) Be prepared for the extremely short notice of oversea trips, many possible changes from the notice till your flight day, indefinite return date, long trip durations etc. Also, the not-so-good accomodations, lower than average allowances and the cinapek working environment. You have to experience it yourself to understand that kind of feeling ... hahahahaAlso make sure you are able to deal with the relationship problems that will arise (if you have a gf), the whitening and losing of hair due to the insane stress level and much more...heh Tho you can't deny that you will learn so much in very short time, and also the attractive paycheck for the prices (health, relationship and so forth) you pay. |

To be honest, I feel you will be able to learn more in technical side than pre sales.
Pre sales are more suitable for technical expert which reasonable amount of experience on field. |
