oh, so it was a known issue about the inconsistent blower speed, no one actually went and complaint? I'll check with the SC when I go for first service, which I think will be next 3-4 months tongue.gif
*
I will monitor further on the inconsistent blower speed but it's still not very serious in my case to the point of passing it as a fault. So far there are no issues in the vehicle, only very minor ones such as plastic rattling sound in the steering wheel when the vehicle goes over some bad surfaced roads, but I don't think the guys at the SC can do anything on it, and it's not exactly a big issue for me.

As for the grinding sound when going uphill, I will monitor it further. So far I don't hear it much when going up steep ramps at low speeds on car park ramps. Maybe the tyre friction sound when going over grooves and rough surface of the ramps have masked the grinding sound. I'll try to listen for the grinding sound when going over steep roads at low speeds, particularly those with bumps in between, but not many chances I will drive through these roads. In Setia Alam I know of one stretch of steep road with bumps, the one near the Peugeot showroom. I heard the grinding sound very clearly when I drove through this steep road more than a month ago.

hi guys, heard from a friend that owns a titanium plus, that his engine vibrates intermittently at idle. It vibrates, then stop awhile, then vibrate again. Brought back to SA, they said its like that (engine's characteristics). Anyone else experience this?

i do not feel the vibration at all. the car is super quiet and calm when idle. i'm nearing 10000km already.

To all Focus owner out there, would like to ask some question about our beloved vehicle:

1) I noticed the blower (fan) are not consistent, sometimes it will get stronger suddenly and back to normal in few seconds time, especially notice able when you're put the blower stronger (level 3-4 and above), but thanks to my sensitive ears, I notice it even in level 1...

yes i face the same symptoms. servicing the car in 2weeks and will ask them about this.
also, when you on the blower to your legs i notice the blower to the cabin is so weak. like 80% of the air goes to the leg area and only 20% to the cabin.

my car battery died again. is the 3rd time since got my car in 08/13. really frustrating.

car parked in porch on friday and forgot to lock it. did not drive it over the weekend and yesterday couldn't start. called insurer auto assist and manage to jump start. i suspect some electronics stuff is draining the battery out even after the engine is being turned off.

1st time is during tinting installation. is embarrassing that it happen on the first week i the car and just few hours (tinting time) it takes to drain the battery

2nd time was 2 months back. this time towed to the service center to have the battery recharged

3rd time was yesterday

read earlier post that some of you doesn't have such problem. maybe you guys try not to lock the car for maybe 4-5hours and try start the engine afterwards. observe whether the start up is as smooth as it use to be.
*
Similarly, I feel sorry for you. I hope the service centre will have a permanent solution to your problem.

FWIW during the first month when I had the Focus, I did not lock the car when it was parked in the car porch overnight. No problems with restarting the car whatsover. I only started to lock the car at night once I fiddled with the positioning of the car seat. I am shocked that the car seat can still be electronically adjusted even though the engine is switched off. In this sense, I think the car consumes a lot of battery power if it is left unlocked. From that day onwards, the day I figured out the position of the car seat can be adjusted electronically, I started to lock the car everytime it's not in use.

Just wondering if there is any autolock function? For example, you forgot to lock your car and went away, and after like say 5 mins, the car automatically lock itself??

Yikes! That would be kinda scary.... what if there are people waiting in the car, and the driver gets out? I think the car locks itself only in the case where:

- the car is already locked, then
- unlocked but
- without any door being opened after x minutes, will lock itself again.

This is to prevent your accidental unlocking eg. if the key hob presses against another key/coins in your pocket while you are walking away from your car.

Does anyone have any experience or got any feedback regarding this AutoFoam treatment? According to the writeups, by injecting this rigid foam into the hollow spaces in the car's chassis, it can improve soundproofing as well as chassis rigidity, thereby improve handling.

What think you?

i felt an ever so slight vibration at idle at the traffic lights during the test drive. did you try tuning the idle revs higher? if you step on the gas pedal to get the revs higher, the vibration is eliminated.

The car will auto lock again if and only if you unlocked the car, didn't open any door for about 40 seconds or so, it'll auto lock again.

I'm just wondering, sometime I walk away from my car while the engine is ignited, the engine doesn't get turn off, just a warning sign on the dashboard screen "key not in car", what will happens if someone actually drive away without the key? What would happens?

I think it's a waste of money, for better handling, just go with ultra racing bars or stiff rings, but these can't help with sound proofing though.

Personally I don't recommend this foam la, if your pocket is thick, just go for some bars and add another layer or two of sound proof mat.

Thanks for sharing, but I think most of us here don't need it as this car just launched last year Sept, maybe next year end, some of us has to start looking for this (some travel a lot and 60k in 2 years are quite common)

omg, I think something wrong with your wiring cables, get the SC to check thoroughly instead just simply recharging or replace the battery!

I have continuously read about your battery being dead, for the 4th time already isn't it? Personally, even if you don't lock the car and the battery still goes dead when the car is only less than 6 months old, then I think something is wrong with the electronics of your car. Sorry to hear about your problem and I hope the guys at the SC will manage to find out the root of the problem and resolve it once and for all.
