400km(vary) onwards, accelerating from 30km/h - 40km/h will give you grinding sound. Am at 750km now, hopefully the awful sound gone after 1000km.

Cruise control, I became so lazy on highway now tht I can control my speed just by using + - button on the steering wheel. Still needs to break though   lol

Have you tried Bluetooth Audio?

I had a weird "feature" with this... whenever the car paired with my phone, the music player would autoplay... most of the time. I eventually installed a different music player app that allowed me to switch off Bluetooth control, so now it doesn't autoplay. However, this solution is not ideal, as the steering wheel toggles which allows you to change songs (forward & backward only) of course no longer works.

I googled and found that there are some people who encounter the same problem, with no real solution.

I hates the closed source nature of SYNC... can't fix!

Guys, just wondering. Do you let Ford do the tinting of our choice on your car before collection, or do you do the tint yourself after collection? Which tint have you chosen for your Focus? I would appreciate some urgent feedback on this matter as I need to make a decision very soon.

Checked on Raytech Ultra7 for front windscreen and Centurion RX-4mil for sides and back windscreens. Quoted RM2500.

May I ask which Raytech branch did you go to?

Anyone else got your Focus done up with Raytech tints? Just concerned on quality of workmanship. The worker that will be doing the car is very important. Just found out Raytech isn't in Ford's standard list of tint installers. Ford only has connection with Vkool, Llumar, Wingard and 3M.

Most likely will go with Raytech as it offers high TSER at high VLT if compared to other manufacturers. Though the price at RM2.5k is quite a bit higher than Huper Optik. Huper Optik's Sech60's TSER is 54% which is lower than Raytech's TSER 62% (Centurion RX-3mil).

Just called up Vkool and their Vkool Elite and 55 package costs RM3320 non-negotiable.

I just checked out Sierraglow's website; not much more details  on what their warranty covers either. Except:

- water spots still can occur
- shine still affected by UV/strong prolonged sunlight
- flying stones/debris

AND handwash carefully (ie. roadside carwash OUT).

I'm not knocking Sierraglow per se; I would think any coating that has such long warranties are over-promising... perhaps with optimal care, these coatings would still give a reasonable degree of protection even after a number of years. But there's no way short of coating the car with pure crystalline carbon (a.k.a diamonds) would it be able to withstand the torture we routinely inflict on our cars through circumstance/weather, neglect and/or by accident.

What I find a bit unsatisfactory is that Sierraglow specifically forbids the use of waxes on the top of the coating, or else the warranty will be void. My (limited) understanding is that waxing is always a good thing as it adds an additional layer of protection, which can be removed & replenished from time to time. In this way, some of that abuse will hit the wax instead of the paintwork.

Also, how when halfway through the warranty when the finish is no longer so perfect.... cannot touch-up?

Nah..... I will stick to a sealant that I can refresh perhaps yearly, that allows me to pile on additional protection with wax as I see fit thankyouverymuch....

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely check it, but if the gap is really there during inspection, the common recommendation is to just the car to the workshop to have it looked at or fixed. Perhaps I'll just reject the car if I see this. But then it will delay the delivery as from what I understand there are no more Midnight Sky titanium, and the next shipment is in about 2 months time.

You cannot run away from the fact the Focus is a 2 litre, non-hybrid car. For those specs, the fuel economy is very decent. Compared to my previous 1.8L Altis, I use about 10% more fuel. For this 10% increase in fuel costs (set aside the recent hike, which affects us all regardless of what car we drive), I get:

- a substantial improvement in performance
- nearly immeasurable increase in terms of fun-to-drive
- lots of nice features
- head-turning looks
- and at a price that is slightly CHEAPER than the previous Altis.

The intermittent shudder with the new Focus. Is there a software upgrade that can reduce this shudder upon receiving this new Focus, or we need to drive the car for considerable mileage say above 1,000km or 2,000km for the shuddering to reduce?

Yeap, the interest rate is quite good. Apparently it only applies for + models.

I think 3k rebate is the standard, esp from SDAC.. maybe dealers give more can discounts and freebies..
