QUOTE(craving @ Aug 13 2013, 11:13 AM) Go play the phone sync...I can never get to call anyone unless I rename everyone from 1 - 100. I got my tint free from Ford 400km(vary) onwards, accelerating from 30km/h - 40km/h will give you grinding sound. Am at 750km now, hopefully the awful sound gone after 1000km. Cruise control, I became so lazy on highway now tht I can control my speed just by using + - button on the steering wheel. Still needs to break though wah, which branch u got it? how is the tint? |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Aug 14 2013, 03:54 PM) Have you tried Bluetooth Audio? yes i tried as well. i did not encounter such issue. it only plays when i require it.I had a weird "feature" with this... whenever the car paired with my phone, the music player would autoplay... most of the time. I eventually installed a different music player app that allowed me to switch off Bluetooth control, so now it doesn't autoplay. However, this solution is not ideal, as the steering wheel toggles which allows you to change songs (forward & backward only) of course no longer works. I googled and found that there are some people who encounter the same problem, with no real solution. I hates the closed source nature of SYNC... can't fix! i read in focusfanatics that you can try to reset the sync. see if this helps you: I pulled the fuse for sync according to my manual. I turned on the car and left it on for 3-5 minutes. Turned the car off, put the fuse back in, and now it works. |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Aug 22 2013, 07:22 AM) Guys, just wondering. Do you let Ford do the tinting of our choice on your car before collection, or do you do the tint yourself after collection? Which tint have you chosen for your Focus? I would appreciate some urgent feedback on this matter as I need to make a decision very soon. i did mine myself days ago. Research research ended up with Raytech CS85 beside IOI Mall Puchong.Thanks. Good workmanship, No bubbles or defect seen after few days. The tint has good clarity. Maybe not the best heat rejection on CS85 but worthy i guess (time will tell). |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Aug 22 2013, 12:40 PM) May I ask which Raytech branch did you go to? Puchong branch, just turn before IOI mall. (look for Mitsubishi showroom)Anyone else got your Focus done up with Raytech tints? Just concerned on quality of workmanship. The worker that will be doing the car is very important. Just found out Raytech isn't in Ford's standard list of tint installers. Ford only has connection with Vkool, Llumar, Wingard and 3M. Most likely will go with Raytech as it offers high TSER at high VLT if compared to other manufacturers. Though the price at RM2.5k is quite a bit higher than Huper Optik. Huper Optik's Sech60's TSER is 54% which is lower than Raytech's TSER 62% (Centurion RX-3mil). Just called up Vkool and their Vkool Elite and 55 package costs RM3320 non-negotiable. Sides was tinted without taking out the door panel as i do not want to disturb the grip and fittings of the panel. Workmanship - 2 guys did it... about 2 1/2 hours.. on the day itself tiny bubbles but after 2 days i do not see any... so workmanship is good la i would say... clean.... nothing to complain.. guys... the car is excellent in so many ways.. but is there anything you don't like about your car?
I start of with mine... the standard carpets of titanium.. cream color... very fast gets dirty... and left foot rest is not protected with a pedal or etc.. gets dirty... needs full area to be carpeted... got free from tint shop but not covering entire cabin floor... need $$$ spent more... the number plate holder at back is not quality at all.. when close the boot it makes that cheapo skate rattle noise... i'm gonna change the front and back plate holder and the plate... opening the door with the touch sensor is all good but locking with sensor seems like needs to get few touches to get the doors locked.. or is there any specific mechanism to touch? |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Aug 26 2013, 03:56 PM) I just checked out Sierraglow's website; not much more details on what their warranty covers either. Except: agree.... i was reading up all about sierra glow last week to see if its worthy.- water spots still can occur - shine still affected by UV/strong prolonged sunlight - flying stones/debris AND handwash carefully (ie. roadside carwash OUT). I'm not knocking Sierraglow per se; I would think any coating that has such long warranties are over-promising... perhaps with optimal care, these coatings would still give a reasonable degree of protection even after a number of years. But there's no way short of coating the car with pure crystalline carbon (a.k.a diamonds) would it be able to withstand the torture we routinely inflict on our cars through circumstance/weather, neglect and/or by accident. What I find a bit unsatisfactory is that Sierraglow specifically forbids the use of waxes on the top of the coating, or else the warranty will be void. My (limited) understanding is that waxing is always a good thing as it adds an additional layer of protection, which can be removed & replenished from time to time. In this way, some of that abuse will hit the wax instead of the paintwork. Also, how when halfway through the warranty when the finish is no longer so perfect.... cannot touch-up? Nah..... I will stick to a sealant that I can refresh perhaps yearly, that allows me to pile on additional protection with wax as I see fit thankyouverymuch.... there's one guy who coated his golf and mentioned it lasted for 2 years only. so i'm not sure if that is covered by warranty to coat again. http://www.markleo.net/review-sierra-glow-car-treatment/ low yat discussion: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1677321/all i decided just to maintain the paint myself but trying as much possible to keep the car washed regularly and waxed with polish when required. |

QUOTE(SuperKL2020 @ Sep 4 2013, 12:12 PM) Just wondering how is everyone's usage and FC? mine nearing 1900km in about 3 weeks... highway/city 50/50. FC is at 8.3l/100km. Avg speed is at 35km/h as per the display. After 2 months, only clock 2000 km.. my FC seems to be hovering around 10.7L / 100KM.. [attachmentid=3614301] in highway usually drive from 100 to 140km/h. i'm not heavy footer. the throttle pedal by default of slow pick up is actually good for FC. only sometimes only when i feels want to tekan i press a little harder to get pickup otherwise cool driving. Last full tank shows about 650km to go. Pretty good considering 50/50 city/highway. This post has been edited by thanish: Sep 5 2013, 04:48 PM |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 5 2013, 11:00 AM) Thanks for the advice. I will definitely check it, but if the gap is really there during inspection, the common recommendation is to just the car to the workshop to have it looked at or fixed. Perhaps I'll just reject the car if I see this. But then it will delay the delivery as from what I understand there are no more Midnight Sky titanium, and the next shipment is in about 2 months time. i think the gap is standard on all focus. mine is also there. specifically the back doors. even i hear some tiny rattling sound when hear some music with high bass. I just place a small sticky rubber in between the gap and the sound is gone. .. anyway the sound is awesome for the stock setup. way good than some of my frens who have done audio mods to their rides... just missing a woofer at the back if not it would sound exceptional. |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Sep 9 2013, 04:37 PM) *sigh!* can become ford salesman la.. sure sales sky rocket...What are you looking for? - great performance AND - great features AND - great looks AND - great fuel consumption AND - great price? If you can find a car that delivers ALL this, please share. You cannot run away from the fact the Focus is a 2 litre, non-hybrid car. For those specs, the fuel economy is very decent. Compared to my previous 1.8L Altis, I use about 10% more fuel. For this 10% increase in fuel costs (set aside the recent hike, which affects us all regardless of what car we drive), I get: - a substantial improvement in performance - nearly immeasurable increase in terms of fun-to-drive - lots of nice features - head-turning looks - and at a price that is slightly CHEAPER than the previous Altis. QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 10 2013, 02:26 PM) The intermittent shudder with the new Focus. Is there a software upgrade that can reduce this shudder upon receiving this new Focus, or we need to drive the car for considerable mileage say above 1,000km or 2,000km for the shuddering to reduce? for me... its about 2300km now. the shudder greatly reduced. never did software update. |

QUOTE(scholes2422 @ Sep 19 2013, 03:53 PM) Hi All, i believe the interest rate is quite good.Just paid my downpayment for my ford focus S+. Car price is 128,903.30 The dealer giving 2k rebate and interest rate is at 1.73 % for 8 years loan. Wondering if this is a good deal... maybe you could have got more discount if surveyed few branches. This post has been edited by thanish: Sep 19 2013, 04:24 PM |

QUOTE(scholes2422 @ Sep 19 2013, 04:34 PM) Thanks bro.. i got 3k disc for non plus titanium model itself before the raya period where originally only standard 1k disc. during that period i got to know also can get more than that for + models on top of standard 3k discount during that period. So i'm sure the dealers able to compete and offer better discount. not sure for current period on the discounts.Yeap, the interest rate is quite good. Apparently it only applies for + models. Wondering how much further discount I can get from other dealers. How about other owners? How much discount you guys manage to get? |
