I have a question re: that Sierraglow coating...

I know that the car looks FANTASTIC immediately coming out of the detailing centre, and also that they have long warranties (5 years?) .... but how on earth can anyone "claim" against that warranty?

- Does it cover our KL-grade pH1.5 Mol 500 Gebeng-radioactive rainwater being left to dry on the paintwork in sunlight-focusing droplets under our 40-degree sun for 5 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365.25 days a year?

- Does it cover bird bombs? Especially our ultra-potent, curry/asam/tomyam/durian-infused variety that puts Ridley Scott's "Alien" blood to shame? How about if left to dry for a couple of weeks under the above-mentioned sun?

- Does it mean I send the car to the roadside car wash where they use foamed clothes detergent and oven cleaner, scrubbed down carefully with sand-encrusted recycled ceiling insulation (since they have worn off their sandpaper), then blasted with the above-mentioned collected rainwater via a 1000 psi industrial compressor, later wiped dry with scrap cloth which was carefully stored on the sandy soapy dirt road and has more bacteria growing on it than a petri dish?

- how about when I feel suicidal and routinely "cucuk" the 18-wheeler container truck along muddy trunk roads going 150 kph, all the while being sprayed with sand/dirt/muck being flung at near-hypersonic speeds onto my paintwork?
After all of this, the ride will still look showroom quality?

once i turn power off, the display lcd and speedometer remain lit up. It only switch off once i lock the car

i might be wrong but i think the display is draining the battery. my car is barely 2mths old and i have to jump start it twice already. 1st time is during installation of tinting, the car engine is off but the doors remain open during installation and when i tried to leave after installation, the engine couldn't start. 2nd time was when i left car at car porch without locking the doors, the next morning the engine couldnt start.

dont know whether is a battery problem or ignition problem

I bought my focus few days after launching on Oct 2012
On Feb 2013 my car died on me, baterry kaput, if the battery kaput, you cannot even get into the car unless using the key, and the key can only unlock the driver door, cannot free the gear, the car at P how to towed, and then after calling insurance company, the first 2 tow truck failed to towed the car,, please bear in your mind that we need tow truck with baby tire to towed the car.

After few hours at SDAC they could not identify the problem, the only solution is to change the battery.
What i learn from focus fanatic is that everytime we off the engine YES some display and button still ON, but there is some bug if after you LOCK your car the light at dashboard still on,, please observe your car, everytime after you lock your car please 'intai' inside to ensure all the light is off,, if some light still ON please restart your car, ON all light, ON your radio, if your USB drive still plug in unplug it

After you lock your car the only light that is still ON is the blinking PATS on odometer every 3 secs and orange light at dashboard with Key picture on it but this one will only stay for few minutes

Users can change the battery ourselves isn't it? Or we need to get the vehicle to be towed to the service centre in the event the battery died? If the battery died and the car needs to be towed to the SC, that would be pretty inconvenient wouldn't it?

Also, is the battery change FOC? What about brake pads and wipers?

I kena more than 3x. SDAC told me just ignore the warning signal. Drive as usual.
Based on my experience, whenever struck in heavy traffic, always engage to N gear when halt in middle. It works and I didn't encounter this after all .

Ummm... just to share: I had a less-than-satisfactory experience with one of those discounted polishing jobs; ended up with them scratching the paint in a couple of locations. Not sure if they weren't careful just because it was so deeply discounted, or their quality is really so bad. That was my old car though, not the FoFo...

Now I wash my car by myself and use a sealant and Wipe-on-walk-away wax about once a month. Watermarks so far etch on the wax/sealant so don't seem to be permanent (yet)....generally happy with the look/maintenance. When I send it for polishing (hopefully not more often than once every couple of years) I will send it to a reputable shop and pay the price.

Compared with some of those really tip-top maintained cars, I notice quite a bit of orange-peel... dunno whether I'm picky, I got unlucky with my particular car, or the dark colour (Midnight Sky) makes it extra evident. How's yours?

I did a bit of survey and found out that the Focus recorded a very respectable maximum horsepower in comparison to other vehicles in the similar or higher engine capacity, or vehicles which come with turbocharged engines. I am a bit surprised that the horsepower of the Focus isn't too far off from the Honda Accord 2.4 and is higher than most 2.0-litre vehicles despite some comments on the aging though proven Duratec engine.

From what I gather more horsepower may translate to better performance at highway speeds whilst torque is more to pulling power, especially acceleration at the low end. Torque at 202Nm is higher that most common 2.0-litre non-Turbocharged engines.
