QUOTE(0304125 @ Aug 25 2013, 10:12 AM) Candy red! My desired colour as well. I'm still waiting for the YES (year end sales). Mind to share your huper optic tinting price, and quotation for sierra glow? The spraying on the rims will take 3-5 days. You got spare car or rims? You can search lowyat forum and look for Steven. I did huper optik for my previous car under the "cover jpj" c70front c40side/rear package. Performance wise is good but too glaring for front windscreen. Slight discomfort if u drive under hot sun for long period of time(traffic jam)...this time around I opt for darker tints c40front c30side/rear and is much more comfortable. After having done 2 car with huper optik, i can say from outside it look quite dark for both cars but from inside is quite bright/clear even for my focus with darker tints. Steven emphasize many times that with this darker tiints they cant "cover jpj" for me. Again, if police/jpj want to disturb you they can give all sorts of reason. As Sierra glow, the owner quoted me rm650. Hopefully can bargain further as I'm returning customer. The rims spraying, didn't really ask around yet. If possible I might ask around fellow focus owner to lend me their spare tires...I wont be using the car during the rims spraying as i do have spare car, so I will just screw in the tires for safety reason |

QUOTE(0304125 @ Aug 25 2013, 02:44 PM) Thanks for sharing bro. Is this huper optik uses security or solar films? Did you tint the sun roof also? This Sierra glow come with 2 years warranty? [FONT=Courier]I believe they do have security and solar films. The one I did was solar films. Sierra glow offer 5 years warranty but I don't really understand what is included in the warranty |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Aug 26 2013, 12:05 PM) I have a question re: that Sierraglow coating... agree with what you said. No clear definition/explanation in the warranty. I did my other car last year and till now it looks good but definitely not as good as it first came out from the detailing centre. There are many detailing centres out there that charges few thousand so im in no position to expect perfect stuff for the price i paid.I know that the car looks FANTASTIC immediately coming out of the detailing centre, and also that they have long warranties (5 years?) .... but how on earth can anyone "claim" against that warranty? - Does it cover our KL-grade pH1.5 Mol 500 Gebeng-radioactive rainwater being left to dry on the paintwork in sunlight-focusing droplets under our 40-degree sun for 5 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365.25 days a year? - Does it cover bird bombs? Especially our ultra-potent, curry/asam/tomyam/durian-infused variety that puts Ridley Scott's "Alien" blood to shame? How about if left to dry for a couple of weeks under the above-mentioned sun? - Does it mean I send the car to the roadside car wash where they use foamed clothes detergent and oven cleaner, scrubbed down carefully with sand-encrusted recycled ceiling insulation (since they have worn off their sandpaper), then blasted with the above-mentioned collected rainwater via a 1000 psi industrial compressor, later wiped dry with scrap cloth which was carefully stored on the sandy soapy dirt road and has more bacteria growing on it than a petri dish? - how about when I feel suicidal and routinely "cucuk" the 18-wheeler container truck along muddy trunk roads going 150 kph, all the while being sprayed with sand/dirt/muck being flung at near-hypersonic speeds onto my paintwork? After all of this, the ride will still look showroom quality? Wah! Like that really worth the RM650++ loh!!! Where can I sign up? |

have you guys encounter this problem before?
once i turn power off, the display lcd and speedometer remain lit up. It only switch off once i lock the car i might be wrong but i think the display is draining the battery. my car is barely 2mths old and i have to jump start it twice already. 1st time is during installation of tinting, the car engine is off but the doors remain open during installation and when i tried to leave after installation, the engine couldn't start. 2nd time was when i left car at car porch without locking the doors, the next morning the engine couldnt start. dont know whether is a battery problem or ignition problem |

QUOTE(choowh @ Oct 11 2013, 02:14 PM) have you guys encounter this problem before? don't think is battery problem as I did tried to jump start but fail. Now car couldn't start at all. Barely 2 months n done 2000km. Called auto connexion and tow truck service is only free if u bought insurance with them. Luckily my insurer do provide free towing service. Called puchong service center at 5pm that I'll be sending my car over late and they actually arrange a staff to wait for me till 630pm. Hopefully tomorrow will receive a call saying it is just a minor problem...once i turn power off, the display lcd and speedometer remain lit up.

QUOTE(Old1030 @ Oct 12 2013, 03:57 PM) Bro, Got my car back this morning. Reason given was battery problem. They recharge it and everything is back to normal. Should it happen again, they will replace the battery. I find it weird, if it is battery problem I think jump start should solve the issue. Yes, what you said, I experienced it too. If battery died, remote unlock fail, and key can only open the driver side. I was frustrated as I can't free the gear and service center kept chasing me cause is already passed their working hours. Tow truck fella was about to ask his colleague to send the baby tire and I was trying all sorts of methods to power on. Randomly, I remove the plastic cover by the steering wheel and chuck the key in. Luckily it works and I manage to shift to N. To fellow focus owner, should your car died on you and you can't shift the gear to N make sure you inform the tow truck to bring baby tire....I bought my focus few days after launching on Oct 2012 On Feb 2013 my car died on me, baterry kaput, if the battery kaput, you cannot even get into the car unless using the key, and the key can only unlock the driver door, cannot free the gear, the car at P how to towed, and then after calling insurance company, the first 2 tow truck failed to towed the car,, please bear in your mind that we need tow truck with baby tire to towed the car. After few hours at SDAC they could not identify the problem, the only solution is to change the battery. What i learn from focus fanatic is that everytime we off the engine YES some display and button still ON, but there is some bug if after you LOCK your car the light at dashboard still on,, please observe your car, everytime after you lock your car please 'intai' inside to ensure all the light is off,, if some light still ON please restart your car, ON all light, ON your radio, if your USB drive still plug in unplug it After you lock your car the only light that is still ON is the blinking PATS on odometer every 3 secs and orange light at dashboard with Key picture on it but this one will only stay for few minutes |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Oct 12 2013, 06:01 PM) Users can change the battery ourselves isn't it? Or we need to get the vehicle to be towed to the service centre in the event the battery died? If the battery died and the car needs to be towed to the SC, that would be pretty inconvenient wouldn't it? My odometer doesn't show the battery warning sign. I just assumed it was battery problem. My concern is, if we ask mechanic to change the battery and if it still fail then we will incurred additional expenses and another concern is will Ford use that excuse to void the warranty....Also, is the battery change FOC? What about brake pads and wipers? |

QUOTE(leonary @ Oct 16 2013, 01:42 PM) OMG, how many hours you took to install your tinting? About 2hrs. My problem is probably an odd one. Some owners posted that they left car unlock overnight and still able to start the engine.i start to worry on this because i am going for tint installation soon anything i can do here? |

Bad luck hit again...was caught in massive jam at puchong ldp just now due to the fallen crane near kinrara. While crawling, a message prompt on the odometer saying transmission overheating and stop for 6 minutes. The engine temperature is normal and there is no place for me to pull over so I just try to shift to N every time the car came to a half (before message prompt, is always on D with constant braking). Somehow I manage to continue without any weird gear changes or engine sound..googled and couldnt get a convincing answer. must prepare a list of questions during service time...if anyone here going for service soon, mind ask the service advisor n share it here...sigh

QUOTE(jameshy @ Oct 20 2013, 11:58 AM) I kena more than 3x. SDAC told me just ignore the warning signal. Drive as usual. overall quite satisfied with the car. just a little disappointed considering im paying over 120k for it. it just struck a sour note. my wife will be driving it most of the time and she is totally blank when it comes to cars. im concern if problem arises when she is driving alone.Based on my experience, whenever struck in heavy traffic, always engage to N gear when halt in middle. It works and I didn't encounter this after all . my feedback on the tinting and sierra glow. 1) huper optik - very happy with quality despite having to re-tint twice due to bubbles 2) sierra glow - for the price im paying still acceptable. if you ask me whether i will send my future car for sierra glow then the answer is No. I washes my car once a week and lately is been raining frequently, watermark start to form. i would rather send my car for polishing once every 3-4months especially when there are tonnes of deals out there on groupon, livingsocial etc... |

QUOTE(lowkl @ Oct 20 2013, 10:31 PM) Ummm... just to share: I had a less-than-satisfactory experience with one of those discounted polishing jobs; ended up with them scratching the paint in a couple of locations. Not sure if they weren't careful just because it was so deeply discounted, or their quality is really so bad. That was my old car though, not the FoFo... recall what you said earlier. the 5 yrs warranty is purely gimmick. Should watermark worsen i can't sent my car for polishing at other places apart from sierra glow. if i did, i believe sierra glow will give excuses to void the warranty. lesson learntNow I wash my car by myself and use a sealant and Wipe-on-walk-away wax about once a month. Watermarks so far etch on the wax/sealant so don't seem to be permanent (yet)....generally happy with the look/maintenance. When I send it for polishing (hopefully not more often than once every couple of years) I will send it to a reputable shop and pay the price. Compared with some of those really tip-top maintained cars, I notice quite a bit of orange-peel... dunno whether I'm picky, I got unlucky with my particular car, or the dark colour (Midnight Sky) makes it extra evident. How's yours? agree with you on the paint quality. certain areas on the car is not as smooth as it should be. i think red is good to look when it is still new but very difficult to maintain as it will look very dull quickly. |

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Oct 22 2013, 01:32 PM) I did a bit of survey and found out that the Focus recorded a very respectable maximum horsepower in comparison to other vehicles in the similar or higher engine capacity, or vehicles which come with turbocharged engines. I am a bit surprised that the horsepower of the Focus isn't too far off from the Honda Accord 2.4 and is higher than most 2.0-litre vehicles despite some comments on the aging though proven Duratec engine. own both. my personal opinion on acceleration. P508 is more responsive if sudden acceleration or from idle position. Both have similar torque but p508 achieved it at a much lower rpm. As for focus, i agree with the rest of you. It gives me the impression that once you gain speed, the car is like telling you she can go fasterFrom what I gather more horsepower may translate to better performance at highway speeds whilst torque is more to pulling power, especially acceleration at the low end. Torque at 202Nm is higher that most common 2.0-litre non-Turbocharged engines. Highest horsepower in chronological order. Make____________________________Maximum Power(Ps/rpm)___________Maximum Torque(Nm/rpm) Ford Focus 2.0________________________170@6500______________________202@4450 Peugeot 508 Turbo S 1.6____________________156@6000_________________________240@1400 |

my car battery died again. is the 3rd time since got my car in 08/13. really frustrating.
car parked in porch on friday and forgot to lock it. did not drive it over the weekend and yesterday couldn't start. called insurer auto assist and manage to jump start. i suspect some electronics stuff is draining the battery out even after the engine is being turned off. 1st time is during tinting installation. is embarrassing that it happen on the first week i the car and just few hours (tinting time) it takes to drain the battery 2nd time was 2 months back. this time towed to the service center to have the battery recharged 3rd time was yesterday read earlier post that some of you doesn't have such problem. maybe you guys try not to lock the car for maybe 4-5hours and try start the engine afterwards. observe whether the start up is as smooth as it use to be. |
