QUOTE(tidus88 @ Aug 7 2013, 04:38 PM) I just had my ford focus sports last night and I'm totally in love with it. Luckily I didn't go for elantra. Bro, I am also comparing elantra with ford focus, why do you choose ford focus over elantra? Any specific reason? Can you share?

QUOTE(choowh @ Aug 25 2013, 02:43 AM) Red. Ordered s version at puchong branch and was told able to get car in 2 mths. After 3mths still no car. They offered s+ with 6k discount n I took the offer... Candy red! My desired colour as well. I'm still waiting for the YES (year end sales). Mind to share your huper optic tinting price, and quotation for sierra glow? The spraying on the rims will take 3-5 days. You got spare car or rims?

QUOTE(choowh @ Aug 25 2013, 01:02 PM) You can search lowyat forum and look for Steven. I did huper optik for my previous car under the "cover jpj" c70front c40side/rear package. Performance wise is good but too glaring for front windscreen. Slight discomfort if u drive under hot sun for long period of time(traffic jam)...this time around I opt for darker tints c40front c30side/rear and is much more comfortable. After having done 2 car with huper optik, i can say from outside it look quite dark for both cars but from inside is quite bright/clear even for my focus with darker tints. Steven emphasize many times that with this darker tiints they cant "cover jpj" for me. Again, if police/jpj want to disturb you they can give all sorts of reason. As Sierra glow, the owner quoted me rm650. Hopefully can bargain further as I'm returning customer. The rims spraying, didn't really ask around yet. If possible I might ask around fellow focus owner to lend me their spare tires...I wont be using the car during the rims spraying as i do have spare car, so I will just screw in the tires for safety reason Thanks for sharing bro. Is this huper optik uses security or solar films? Did you tint the sun roof also? This Sierra glow come with 2 years warranty?

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ Sep 4 2013, 08:04 AM) Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. sorry to hear about yoru 3M crystalline. Anyway hope it will still serve you well although some parts already peeled off. For me, durability is equally important as heat resistant. Guess I'll just shortlist Raytech and Sahara-X instead. Read good reviews on Raytech, just the price is quite a bit higher than the rest. Don't know much about Sahara-X. Cheers. I'm a proud user of 3m crystalline. Been using it for the past 4 years plus on my vios. A very good heat resistant film. I'll definitely consider this 3m again when I get my focus. About the peeling off issues, I think is depending on the sifu who apply it. Nothing to do with the film itself

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Sep 24 2013, 09:31 AM) The jerking in low speed acceleration, from 0 km/h to 30km/h, will it reduce considerably with time? Performance of the Focus is great with nimble steering feel coupled by sharp handling and powerful acceleration. Just the slight jerking at low speeds which spoiled it a bit. Having said that it's a good car. Funny that my Ford sales advisor mentioned one will not want to drive a Japanese car anymore after driving the Focus, and that the next upgrade will be BMW or Audi. Funny but quite true. Your sa from seri kembangan? I was told exactly the same thing, lol

QUOTE(thanish @ Sep 24 2013, 10:49 AM) Usually i dont really bother about brands with my previous VIOS, just fill up as i find any station when i need to fill up but i do felt quite a difference with BHP somehow. not sure if the fuel is making the difference or the engine is breaking in and getting smoother rides and better FC. i did fill up Caltex once in between but did not get that same feeling so back to BHP. Hi thanish, me too driving a vios now. How was the fc for focus compared to vios?

Very good write up sportyhandling. Very useful information for people who's eyeing on focus for a long time now. I think focus is the perfect car if sime darby bring in ecoboost and touch sync.

as far as the manual shifting is concerned, the paddle shifter is much more ergonomic compared to this power shifting located in the gear knob...imaging when you're speeding fast(that's why you need S mode), I mean FAST, and you have to shift away your left hand to change gear manually...it's not just ergonomic, it's about SAFETY too!

QUOTE(kelvinftg @ Oct 10 2013, 05:31 PM) Although I do not disagree with you, but have you forgotten about how manual car drivers used to and still change gears? Yes, you're right. I've totally forgotten about how a manual transmission car is being drive, I've never driven a manual car since I got my driving license 10 years+ back. I doubt if I would be still able to drive a manual transmission car today

finally I've place my booking today choowh, try using S mode next time you stuck in traffic jam, I read from other forum saying this DCT overheating issue was due to the frequently change of gear between 1-2-1 when stuck in heavy traffic, using S mode could reduce the gear changing because the characteristic of S mode will drag till higher RPM before it actually change gear.

QUOTE(wishndream @ Oct 20 2013, 08:53 AM) I'm thinking of spraying or powder coating the rims to a darker colour...matte black or gunmetal gray. Quite sure the warranty will not void. Anybody did this already? I bought a groupon deal for spraying the rims, haven't go and do it, not sure how's the quality, still hesitating which colour to choose, also considerating matte black or gunmetal black for Candy Red. Power Coating is it better and longer lasting? https://www.groupon.my/deals/klang-valley-s...Spray/717615521

QUOTE(wishndream @ Oct 20 2013, 09:09 PM) Colour wise can be similar for both but powder coating is more durable. I've checked the price for all 4 rims powder coat between rm800-rm1000 whereas normal spraying is around rm400 Thanks for sharing, looks like the deal is quite worth it looking at the number, not sure the quality and workmanship yet. I'll be the white rat and post some photos when it's done. Just trying since it's quite affordable, and if the colour not nice, I'll consider redo it with power coating to another colour, or even change the 4 rims.

QUOTE(blu3 @ Oct 21 2013, 10:42 AM) Meaning you need to shift the gear to different mode when there is traffic jam? Wouldn't be too troublesome? Not as troublesome to switch to N gear every time it stop, right?

QUOTE(wishndream @ Oct 21 2013, 08:07 PM) That would be nice. please post the pix after the coating . BTW quite difficult to get nice rims for focus as the PCD is 108 which is uncommon here. I'm not doing coating, I'm doing the spraying first. If not nice only consider coating. Thanks for sharing the PCD, I didn't know about that earlier

QUOTE(vyruzj @ Oct 28 2013, 11:42 AM) Hello all... placed a booking yesterday for a sport+ candy red... hope can get loan approval by Thursday (31st Oct 2013) for the low interest rate promo Anyone have ideas on how long to process the loan? A bit short of time, can still try thou. I booked last Sat, until today it's not approved, it's quite strict in getting loan nowadays, which personally I think is a good thing for the nation. And by the way, it's by 30th Oct 2013, not 31st Oct.

QUOTE(Dwango @ Oct 30 2013, 10:55 AM) Yes, it's a good car. Superb handling and looks good too. Several weeks ago I was trailing a Peugeot 408, supposedly to be compared to the Focus. I just can't get by the ugly looks of it as the rear of the car looks awful. The Focus Titanium looks so much better. What about Mazda 3 2014? The front looks so much better, not sure about the responsive of the sky active engine, certainly the exterior wise, Mazda 3 are far better, so tempted to wait for Mazda 3, but it's a still a Japanese car, I'm tired of Japanese car.
