Hi guys,
wanna ask, my friends have 2 TUF-AX4200 , one at living room as wifi router , other one on 1st floor as Mesh , problem now is the wifi CCTV on the front gate seem like the wifi signal is weak ,when using CCTV app to view the cam causing video lag or device not found.  my question is : can i just buy a asus RT-AX1800HP router place it between front gate and living room as Mesh to boots wifi signal for the wifi CCTV  at the front gate?
also there are two version of RT-AX1800HP version : RT-AX1800HP and RT-AX1800HP V2. what is the difference and which one is better?  after some google, seem like RT-AX1800HP is 4 core and RT-AX1800HP V2 is Duo Core?

thanks.

What CCTV are you using now?

Is it a brand that start with E?

Latest firmware for TUF-AX4200 fixes the issues mentioned above.

Firmware "3.0.0.4.388_33920" changelog: "2. Improved network stability and data transmission performance."

I've tested for a week and no problems anymore. Safe to update to this.

Since you are also a TUF-AX4200 user, do you happen to know why the WAN Lease time is stuck at Renewing? Or do you see this at your end? This week my devices started to keep disconnecting/lag every 2-3 mins or so, and updating the firmware to 3.0.0.4.388_33920 did not help.

Thanks! I guess you are seeing some valid numbers then. I need to figure out whether this is the cause for the frequent disconnect.

I think I did happen to get that before once and it was a TM issue. Wan leasing is dictated by the ISP, not by the router.

While I am not sure whether the WAN lease time will cause the frequent disconnect, i did raise a ticket to TM to query why the router is unable to successfully obtain a valid value but they yet to get back to me. I do hope this is the cause, as rebooting, uprev/downrev the firmware did not resolve it. Unless is related to the hardware itself and needs a replacement (router approaching 2ys in a couple of days).

Camera quality is fine, features normal

But their WiFi reception a bit rubbish and kinda struggle a bit if you use too many of them in one home

Always kena unstable network or laggy stream / dropped frames if house got more than 5 units

Yea. Router was working fine for more than a year until this week where the issue hit.
Surprisingly when the websites lagged and struggling to load, TM speed test is working perfectly fine and able to hit the advertised speed of 300 Mbps with 9ms ping.

Mine unfortunately not so stable, still have some pictures not loading in Facebook and at times slow response browsing certain sites. However, videos are all okay. Reverted back to the older firmware and everything is back to normal.

Hi guys, I recently change to Maxis Fibre on Unifi infra and they replaced my router with Maxis Kaon AR2140 Wifi 6 Router + Skyworth modem.

I am having issues when I try to set up any ASUS router with Maxis Fibre. When I use the "Maxis Fibre Profile", I get my IP in the "175" range and it says "connected", but I couldn't actually browse or do anything.

When I set it up manually and put "621" as the VID, I get the "121" IP and connected to the internet, but watching streams will have issue "Twitch, Kick, TikTok", online services such as Canva will be super slow etc.

Speedtest is super fast though hahaha. Damn it I'm losing my mind

Hi hantarkatsini2,

May I know what is the ASUS router model you are using and have you try updating the firmware to the latest and do a factory reset.

Thank you

ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 - Maxis Profile or 621 VID = Connected with 175 range IP. Can't browse or do anything
TUF Gaming BE6500 - 621 VID = Connected with 121 range IP. Can browse, amazing speedtest result, problem watching streams on Twitch/Kick/TikTok after few seconds will get stuck.

Both routers are on the latest firmware. Done factory reset a couple of times also.

Sounds like you know your way around networking

Try this:

Login to the Skyworth modem, the authentication details are labeled on the bottom. You need to configure manual IP at your PC.

The QoS is enabled by default, disable them.

It should fix your issue.
