Hi, not sure if you can help me on this. I have tried to enable failover mode but it just doesnt work for me.

My setup :

1. Primary Router : AX86U
2. Maxis Router : AR2140
3. Maxis 4G Backup Dongle : MF833V
4. Fiber Infra : Unifi (on high rise)

Steps :

1. Plugged in MF833V into AR2140
2. LAN 1 (from AR2140) to LAN 1 (AX86U) - nothing else plugged into AR2140, Primary WAN on AX86U is on 2.5Gbps port
3. Enabled Dual Wan on faileover on AX86U (Primary WAN 2.5Gbps port, Secondary WAN on LAN 1)
4. In AX86U page, it shows as primary WAN connected by secondary WAN as cold backup
5. Switch off BTU, internet disconnected by waited 5 mins no failover (no internet connection)

Any ideas?

Hi rathishsiva,

Does the AR2140 have any Internet access after step 5?

Thank you

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes it does. When I connect directly via WiFi to AR2140 it has internet access. The dongle is blinking blue too.

Hi rathishsiva,

Can you try check whether the LAN cable from the AR2140 has Internet Access also?

If there is Internet access, can you try to duplicate the problem again and send a feedback using the router GUI at Administration->Feedback once the primary WAN is up.

PM me the email address used once done.

And can you help to test whether the AR2140 can work at primary WAN? Set the primary WAN as router mode(remember to select the ISP profile as none, and WAN connection type to Automatic IP) and AP mode.

Thank you

Anyone know how to setup Lyra MAP-AC2200 with Maxis? There is no option to change the VLAN to Maxis profile.

Quick question:

If I am using Unifi, with AC82U router.

If let’s say I have 5G Router, can I dual WAN or blend both Fiber+5G to achieve higher speed?

Dual WAN bonding is not easy to achieve if what you are looking for is faster total speed on a single device

It's even harden when both WAN you combining have different IP addresses

There is no such thing as blending on wan. You only share the load. Take 5G or fiber you cannot combined them both.

Blending will give you more stability and continuity with fail-over capacity in case one service provider gives you problems.
It does not give you more speed to either provider than your subscribed speed! Don't dream...

Hi yfyap69,

You should be able to do it at LAN->IPTV->ISP Profile.

https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1011708

Make sure to update the firmware to the latest as well.

Thank you

Hi, does anyone here know what features(if enabled) would disable NAT acceleration on tuf-ax4200?

Hi yongtjunkit,

Any features that control the traffic such as QoS or bandwidth limiter will disable the NAT acceleration.

I see, this means that adaptive QOS would disable NAT Acceleration?

Hi @ASUSmy,

Hi have a PPPoE account that comes with 5 public IPs (/29) from local telco. Is it possible to use Asus router to assign those IPs via DHCP to my clients and use WAN IP as it's gateway. I have not found any guide only to do this. Appreciate your feedback on such setup.

Thanks

1. Not sure why you want to assign public ip directly to your dhcp client
2. Theoretically, you can set 1 of the public ip as asus router LAN IP
3. Under DHCP range, define the 2nd to 5th (same subnet with router LAN IP)
