Router/AP/Repeater are the three modes

Yes boss, of course you need cables to setup

Basically how you connect it after setting it up.

UNIFI FTTH/VDSL2+ MODEM>RT-N12HP's WAN PORT=INTERNET
RT-N12HP's LAN 1/2/3>Your Clients (Laptop, PC, Astro Decoder, Smart TV, BluRAY player, Consoles and many more)
RT-N12HP's LAN 4>HYPP TV
*
alright thanks, will ask for it once I get it
FYI my astro don't have the record video function, can save 1 port
and normally use LAN port as my router is put it parlor because TV is at there, yet there no space for me to use the LAN cable, if want to use need to buy very very long LAN cable, so straight use wifi unless when got issue only put the laptop to connect cable in front the router to fix it

basically I can just follow the LAN port plug into that asus router like currently my unifi router ?
now LAN 4 is also connected with hypp tv @@

Hi surefire,

May I know which model of RT-N12 that you are using? RT-N12HP, RT-N12 D1 or RT-N12 C1?

And has you try to update the firmware to the latest?

http://www.asus.com/Networking/

Try follow the youtube below to do the setting.

Yes. Just connect it like before after setting it up
For my Smart TV, Assteruk and BluRay Player, I connect it to a Bridge Router with DD-WRT which is my RT-N10+ C1, meanwhile the RT-N10+ will connect to my main router wirelessly. Reason? My TV and other electrical appliances is downstairs and their built in WiFi isn't that good, so I decided to use my old repeater as a Bridge.

Hi, recently purchased and hooked up a RT-AC56U router. Signal strength is way stronger than the lovely DLINK provided by UNIFI. However, been facing connection drops with my portable devices eg. iPhone, iPad

The PC on the other hand, operates just fine. Would need to constantly reconnect the Wi-fi (every 2 minutes!) for the portables, have tried running Google searches and testing 'fixes' such as changing the Channel etc. but still facing the same problem. Any advise please? Thanks.

If you have problem with iPad, iPhone, then I suggest you lower it to 20MHz instead of 20/40MHz.

You can also try to reserve the IP when the device connected for the first time.

Thanks for your advice. Was previously on 20MHz and that did not solve the problem. I have just switched it back to 20, lets see how it goes.. rclxub.gif

Hi ASUSmy

I have just purchased my RT-N12HP today. Already done set up and am using it to post this now.

However, one issue with the router settings page, why is it (sometimes) forever/infinite loading? It never loads, I have to press ENTER on the address bar to "send"/initiate the session/browsing again so that it loads.

Already on your latest firmware by the way RT-N12HP_3.0.0.4_374_4561-g5f5c8d8 which I downloaded from your website.

Kindly advise, thanks.

Jeff.

Hi patienceGNR,

You can try do a factory reset to have a try, this maybe due to some changes on the new firmware or the firmware is not properly flashed.

Thank you

It happens during out-of-the-box as well. On the stock firmware before I updated, it was so slow, I wanted to return the item because I couldn't even get past the set-up! It just says "Transferring data from router.asus.com" for as long as 5 minutes.

I have to keep refreshing the page to get to the next step, some even make the entire installation start all over again.

I am using a direct connection to the router, by the way.

If via wirelessly no internet connection.

Hi surefire,

You can save the log in the RT-N12D1 and send to my e-mail? I will PM you my e-mail address.

Before you save the log, try restart the both the TM router and RT-N12 D1 and then download the log after a while.

Thank you

Hi wan1912,

You try to do a rescue mode and see that it help or not. You can follow the step show on the youtube. If it is still same then the router is faulty already.

Hi, I visited your service centre in Lowyat on 8th of March for my G75VW laptop issues.. Turns out, it was only my adapter that had problem, since it is still under warranty, they told me that they can exchange the adapter for me.. But it has already been almost 1 month now, and my calls to you helpline has been met with "Your request is pending" ....

First of all, what does "pending" mean?
Secondly, when can i get my replacement adapter?
