QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 11 2012, 08:07 PM) something similar like this one discussed before already couple pages or so with the d5100. so ask urself what u want it for more...video or photos. tho if price not so important, wait til jan 2013 when nikon should announce either a d7100 or d400... At first i was aiming for Canon EOS 60D because of budget and its video capability, then i try it with the D7000 and found out I dont like how the 60D feel. But then D7k video not really up to par... worse still I cant wait till next year. Sigh.. What would you recommend at this point of time, for a guy with RM3.5k budget: photo is priority (videos a big plus) regardless of brand?

D7000 is good enough for small projects and commercial film if you use it correctly.

QUOTE(Pro3363 @ Nov 11 2012, 08:12 PM) I thought SB700 was launched in 2010...... 2010 eh really. but still, a 700 is a good flash. heck, even a sb600 is still a good flash. if u buy now, then suddenly 710 come out.. nothing wrong with that. if u wait then u might as well wait forever since tech stuff always changes haha u wont be using full power on these flashes often so..

Even SB-910 released, it's the fact that I still prefers SB-900 over the faster cycle-time coz it doesn't have the function where it'll delays teh cycle when the flash head getting overheat soon

QUOTE(creativespikes @ Nov 10 2012, 01:26 PM) So what is D5200 price like??? I'm just itchy done even know the price, but if around 2200-2500 worth the buy cause its about D7000 spec QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 11 2012, 09:12 AM) I think the YN-160 II I'm considering has 16 levels of brightness and comes with a remote. I saw Pro Images (Shop in Melaka) selling for RM248 on FB. Ahh, its those bulb based video light? Must have been quite hot! How long does the battery last? I would definitely prefer the D7000 instead, D7000 has better grip, nicer to hold. Dual commander dials for manual and aperture --> more buttons and no need to get into menu that often as compared to D5100, option to add a Nikon original battery grip, does 6fps, 100% VF coverage, and dual slot SD, and I think D7000 can do 14-bit NEF RAW which D5100 can't.Sorry D5100 also does 14bit raw pls check nikon website and wiki ya. To me d5100 is the poor mans d7000 with a few less dials and features.

Side note, D5100 can only do lossy compressed 14-bit instead of lossless like D7000? That is true that is why I did mention "Poor Man's D7000" anyway its a good camera for the price. If budget is not an issue then even I would have gone for the d7000. My regular shop has been trying to poison me for a long time. But for me currently I figured I would rather spend my $ on lenses than another body.

Thanks guys for the help..
By the way one seller offered to add in a new 50mm fixed lens to the D7000 deal for an extra RM400. (I didnt asked about the brands and specs.. )
Im not looking for a bargain here, just wondering is that a good complimentary to the stock kit lens?
