Not sure what settings, but its usable... plus modern camera nowadays can bump ISO up anyways. Then again, the demo he did only had 1 little LED light source.
Kinda curious on using that hehe... Digging best price for a YN-160 II now to play first.

Studio just bought that yungnuo led light last week for video use. The thing is quite bright for a small size lol

It comes with a remote control right? Go try do some portraiture with just that light see what's the outcome!

Ive used video light for prewedding shoot before at Cameron. It was my friends gear & idea. We were not using LED lights, back then still dont have yet (maybe), we use actual sony video lights which was warmer color. Had a dial to adjust the intensity. Very directional and very good results, only thing is the halogen heats up real fast and real hot. For a noob like me who didnt know much about flash or gels, it gave fantastic results.

Depends on the production team i guess. A full HD cam cost like 10-15k for one atleast. That is why dslr are more popular option these days. My office uses 2x5dmk2 and D7000 to cover the WIF KL 2012. Then again we didnt do full coverage, if full coverage then those big camera with dv tapes are used and non HD of course tongue.gif

Now we're in the process of upgrading the production machines to imac's. Heard boss gonna get a few soon *crossfinger* laugh.gif

D7000 definitely better. with 2.7k you can get a new D7000 body already. Give a try to D7000 and D5100 and feel the difference smile.gif

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2582988 <<< see this, nice deal but too bad I have limited budget and having a D90 half year ago sad.gif

My friend offered me around ~Rm2750 for his used D7000 body with 18-105mm kit len.
I'm quite in dilemma since I can get a new D5100 body + 35mm 1.8G lens combo cheaper ~RM2100

This is my first DSLR btw.
So any opinion guy, should i go with a new D5100 or a used D7000.
Thanks  smile.gif

so far everyone is recommending the D7000. Personally I like the D5100 better tongue.gif

It's smaller and lighter, easier to bring around. Flip screen is useful for overhead shooting and camwhoring (i have too few photos of myself haha). I also like the fact that all the buttons are on the right side, so you only need one hand to change settings!

focus motor depends on what lens are you actually going to buy. No point getting body with focus motor if u end up buying AF-S lenses anyway tongue.gif

I think the YN-160 II I'm considering has 16 levels of brightness and comes with a remote. I saw Pro Images (Shop in Melaka) selling for RM248 on FB.

Ahh, its those bulb based video light? Must have been quite hot! How long does the battery last?

I would definitely prefer the D7000 instead,

D7000 has better grip, nicer to hold. Dual commander dials for manual and aperture --> more buttons and no need to get into menu that often as compared to D5100, option to add a Nikon original battery grip, does 6fps, 100% VF coverage, and dual slot SD, and I think D7000 can do 14-bit NEF RAW which D5100 can't.

i was looking at yongnuo also before.
but there is another brand i checked out called led-5009 which has 120 leds, but comes with its own rechargeable batt...which for me better since i only got 8pcs AA...and i want to use flash also.
maybe one day i go back check again and use a lightmeter app and measure how strong it is.
*
This Yongnuo can use those big lithium ion battery too if don't want to use AA. But then again I prefer using AA since AA cheaper and I can use for my flash hehe.

I saw another brand with model CN-160, this one can stack the LED together!

Really? But I shoot at f/1.4 and I use only center AF hmm.gif , also can use! In fact I feel more confident using the center AF (or rather the center 15 cross sensor) than the sensors which is non cross on my D700/D800.

No, you need to scrap the entire unit.

Nah, just kidding. Of course you can change the shutter. Signs of your shutter dying is that when you shoot 1/8000s, and 1/2000s, you get same exposure.

So, is his asking price for the used D7000 kit reasonable?
Since idk the current street price for used D7000 kit.

And with D5100, I got new body and Nikon warranty.

Thanks
*
If you dun know the street price, do some research at garage sale section la... if you need value for money stuff, must not be lazy.. if you lazy, just goto retail shop and buy, better service but u pay more la...

If he is yr fren, so I can assume he did not sell you a faulty items la... borrow and test it for a few hours la...

What other accessories is included ? Lens filter, SD card, bag , etc..etc... etc... all these surely add up more $$$...

D7000 hv built-in motor, so can use those older/cheaper lens like 50mm f/1.8D ...

BTW D5200 just came out with a lot of the D7000 features on it...
