12% is still pretty decent I think. What is the load of the router?
*
load is about 10-15%... (cant remember correctly, but it is low... have to check back after work...)

any expert help???

i just brought the WRT54GL v1.1
do i need to 'RUN THE CD FIRST'?
wat is the purpose to do it?

btw, how am i get the original firmware of this wireless router?
if i flash to DD-WRT, it will void the warranty?

may i know where can i get the DD-WRT firmware?
how am i go to flash the firmware?

** my comment:
can MX510 gather all the necessarily info in the first thread?
like where to download the new firmware, guide and etc?

i'm bought mine last sunday~Price tag RM250~May i know how much u paid? tongue.gif
Back to the question~if u have basic router setting knowledge~
No need run the CD~That CD is a easy set-up tool~

Flashing 3rd-party firmware wont void warranty~
if it does...why we bought WRT54GL(open source) or others WRT54? laugh.gif

Google it yourself for the download link~ cool2.gif

Just moved from DD-WRT (which I have been using for years) to Tomato and OMG!

Tomato is waaayyyyy better than DD-WRT. So if any of you guys have any issues at all, try Tomato first. The QOS really works and it's faster than DD-WRT. smile.gif

I faced a problem now...

Since I use the WRT54G v2.2 with flashed to dd-wrt, the wireless signal strength will decrease after some period usage but I did not experience it before when I still using the WAG200G.

Are you sure it is not due to inference? Maybe your unit is overheating. Make sure it gets enough ventilation, or if you want, try Tomato.

I have disable the wireless for the WAG200G and the router is placed beside the WAG200G, so I think that's not the cause. btw, I always put a small fan blowing it.

for those who havent noticed, there is a cheaper yet better router that can support dd-wrt besides linksys wrt54gl. buffalo whr-g54s just rm160, and works better than the linksys.

It has cuter design too!

I think U can get from compu-zone lowyat. RM170+-.
U need use tftp flashing method as descript here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Insta...st_time_install.

Do it at your own risk. biggrin.gif

Well, for one. It doesn't hang after clicking disconnect and reconnect. In DD-WRT, the HTTP interface always crashes.

It has QOS that REALLY works. Can download BT while surfing or gaming.

It has download history. Which means it keeps track of your data transfer usage. Very nice feature.

The web interface is really fast and easy to use.

Can assign static DHCP with a single click.

Has a OpenDNS dyndns style IP updater. [I have been looking for this for a long time!!!]

etc...

guys..just bought Buffalo WHR-54FS few days ago. didn't dare to flash it to DDWRT coz afraid will brick it since i'm a noob in networking. blush.gif anyway, the connection is not stable all the time. can't surf the net at times & gotta restart it. but weirdly MSN still ok when the net surfing is down. anything to do with the firmware? or isit due to my streamyx connection? icon_question.gif
