You don't need to reset. The first step is flash to mini version, then flash to standard version. That's it you're good to go (applies to v4 and below ONLY). Check your router version on your router's bottom.
I'm using WRT54GL V1.1~A forumer advice me use the dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin~ so the steps are
1.) flash dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin
2.) flash the std_generic.bin ? icon_question.gif

Thanks smile.gif

Follow like what blindbox said.

I went from v23 mini to v23 standard and just recently flashed it with v24 standard rc.

When I got my WRT54GL 1.1 I flashed it straight to the generic version without the crap of having to flash to the mini/micro edition first.  I believe the WRT54GL has sufficient memory to do the flashing straight away to the generic version.

I flash it according to the Wiki at DD-WRT~
There stated flash mini then standard firmware if u r 1st time to flash ur unit laugh.gif

any expert help???

i just brought the WRT54GL v1.1
do i need to 'RUN THE CD FIRST'?
wat is the purpose to do it?

btw, how am i get the original firmware of this wireless router?
if i flash to DD-WRT, it will void the warranty?

may i know where can i get the DD-WRT firmware?
how am i go to flash the firmware?
** my comment:
can MX510 gather all the necessarily info in the first thread?
like where to download the new firmware, guide and etc?
*
i'm bought mine last sunday~Price tag RM250~May i know how much u paid? tongue.gif
Back to the question~if u have basic router setting knowledge~
No need run the CD~That CD is a easy set-up tool~

Flashing 3rd-party firmware wont void warranty~
if it does...why we bought WRT54GL(open source) or others WRT54? laugh.gif

Google it yourself for the download link~ cool2.gif
