finally no frequent disconnected problem. anyone can tell me what is going to happen actually? I'm using linksys wag200g all-in-1 adsl modem before getting the wrt54g v2.2 and I always faced the disconnected problem frequently, at least 1 time per day if lucky but normally more than that, sometime even 2 or 3 times within 5 minute. at first, I think is tm problem and I called to the CS centre but they cant helped me much...asked me to do those silly checking. after getting the wrt54g router and flashed to dd-wrt, I experienced no disconnected problem. btw, I got the router on tuesday evening.

I guess it is your modem's settings then. Try the keep alive function instead of the connect on idle function perhaps (on your WAG)? Now that it is the router that is doing the dialing, I guess it is fine. I have not experienced it myself though, maybe it is because I am currently using beta RC 4 This post has been edited by blindbox: Oct 11 2007, 11:01 PM

Hmmm... for me the speed is just the same between RC-3 and RC-4. RC-4 has the added advantage of not taking too much memory. Now I always have more than 3MB RAM left instead of 700k-900k in RC-3.

DD-WRT RC4 now runs on DLink's DIR 300 wireless router. See my post here. It's a pain to flash the DIR 300 but worth it. No going back though.

QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 12 2007, 11:06 PM) is there any soft or hard reboot via the dd-wrt control panel? seem I cant find it... Soft reboot is done at Administration tab. Hard reboot is done by unplugging power supply and then replug.

You don't have to worry about it. Those commands pretty much tells you to set your max connections to 4096, TCP timeout to 120 secs and UDP timeout to 120 secs, which is in your admin settings (or wherever it is). Well, if you are still interested to putting those commands in, try telnetting or ssling into the router. If you do not know how to do this, there is a console at administration>commands. That should be easier than telnetting or ssling. This post has been edited by blindbox: Oct 13 2007, 10:29 PM
