Tomato is waaayyyyy better than DD-WRT. So if any of you guys have any issues at all, try Tomato first. The QOS really works and it's faster than DD-WRT.

Just moved from DD-WRT (which I have been using for years) to Tomato and OMG!

QUOTE(prasys @ Oct 21 2007, 07:07 PM) LOL, I am sure everyone knows that.Added on October 21, 2007, 11:26 pm QUOTE(gsan @ Oct 21 2007, 09:22 PM) I faced a problem now... Are you sure it is not due to inference? Maybe your unit is overheating. Make sure it gets enough ventilation, or if you want, try Tomato.Since I use the WRT54G v2.2 with flashed to dd-wrt, the wireless signal strength will decrease after some period usage but I did not experience it before when I still using the WAG200G. QUOTE(red-queen @ Oct 22 2007, 06:22 PM) hey bro, Well, for one. It doesn't hang after clicking disconnect and reconnect. In DD-WRT, the HTTP interface always crashes. mind sharing how is Tomato better? i'm using dd-wrt v23 and my QoS, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. in the end i just stopped using QoS It has QOS that REALLY works. Can download BT while surfing or gaming. It has download history. Which means it keeps track of your data transfer usage. Very nice feature. The web interface is really fast and easy to use. Can assign static DHCP with a single click. Has a OpenDNS dyndns style IP updater. [I have been looking for this for a long time!!!] etc... |

When you upgrade any firware, you MUST always clear the NVRAM otherwise the router will not work properly. This is a widely known issue.

It is not complicated at all. You just need to READ and UNDERSTAND every single instruction given to you by DD-WRT.

In TOMATO, you can use QOS to limit his maximum download speed for his connection. Works really well.
