my WRT54GL works great with dd-wrt v23. been running absolutely perfect ever since the 1st day i got my router and flashed it.

i also have a 60mm Sunon fan mounted ontop of the router which keeps the chipsets very cool all day every day. longest time i had was 120+ days, then electric box trip coz of lightning.....now its back to 30+ days.

I don't believe it thats far.  hmm.gif
Need to take a look in front of my eyes and I'll believe it then. nod.gif
Unless the guy you've said using the highly super power wifi adapter or mod type one which can pulled your signal to him. notworthy.gif

What kind of item did you ordered? Wanna tumpang sekaki, for indoor signal booster 500mW. biggrin.gif

it depends on the Antenna and how strong the signal is from the AP. not on the wifi adapter on the client. wifi adapter listens, it does not pull from the AP. as long as the Antenna is good and the AP is sending out strong signal. i don't see why the guy from 1KM away can't get his signal.

Yeah it does.....You should go for it. Its somewhat unstable , and it need resets every now and then. But yeah go for it. There are lots of extras man , you can now monitor every single user , it tells you all the In and Out connection..Pure w00tness

Just moved from DD-WRT (which I have been using for years) to Tomato and OMG!

Tomato is waaayyyyy better than DD-WRT. So if any of you guys have any issues at all, try Tomato first. The QOS really works and it's faster than DD-WRT. smile.gif

hey bro,

mind sharing how is Tomato better? i'm using dd-wrt v23 and my QoS, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. in the end i just stopped using QoS

guys..just bought Buffalo WHR-54FS few days ago. didn't dare to flash it to DDWRT coz afraid will brick it since i'm a noob in networking.  blush.gif anyway, the connection is not stable all the time. can't surf the net at times & gotta restart it. but weirdly MSN still ok when the net surfing is down. anything to do with the firmware? or isit due to my streamyx connection?  icon_question.gif

you're having this problem because all ur tcp connection ports in ur router has been used. the reason why ur msn still ok is because the connection has already been established before the amount of connection was flooded. any new connection that you try to establish will have problem. thats why, you should flash to DD-wrt or any other 3rd party firmware which allows you to increase the tcp connection amount and also set the cleanup rate.
