Me too! But my year don't have the pangkat classification anymore. Sejarah, Moral... don't know what for... Most of the time went smoking in the toilet. Luckily still can get a job here.

There must be a reason why these subjects are taught, not just in Malaysia.
It was reported that MOE has started to incorporate moral values into their current subjects.

Still can remember Parameswara until forming of Malaysia history... But when start talking government system, then totally blur, feel like brain washing.

For Moral, its the same 16 chaprter every year, for the whole secondary school period... Kebaikan hati, hormat-menghormati rclxub.gif

QUOTE(RecruitingTheBest @ Jan 25 2013, 09:32 AM)
One problem that i've observed with Msians from local unis is that they are always in a frog inside the tempurung style mentality. They keep thinking the world is the tempurung, they have this mentality: "I know everything inside the tempurung better than other frogs inside the tempurung so I should be able to compete with other people outisde the tempurung."

While there are certainly some areas for improvement in the SG education system, it is definitely far more advanced than Msia's, speaking from experience.

Not sure if you have really experienced or have the knowledge to compare SG and MY's education system but if you have not this is the exact tempurung style thinking that we Msians should avoid. If we don't have the knowledge to compare, we try not to make concluding remarks.

Also the problem with the Msian language. if you're chinese you know a chinese dialect, english and Malay. Problem with this is you'll probably be a Jack of all languages and a master of none. A student with excellent English results in Msia does not equals to having excellent English language skills in another country.

Sharing my two cents. I've seen many first class honours and top Msia students from local universitites became the bottomline of group interviews at MNCs in SG, AU and even HK.

I think you're missing the point.
Nobody is disputing the quality of subject curriculum in SG.
It is afterall one of the best in the region.
What i'm saying is apart from subject curriculum, the students in SG fare badly in things like soft skills, street smarts, innovativeness and resourcefulness. I also realise SG students have very limited ability to improvise in a certain situation, skills which malaysian nons pick up outside class room.

Afterall i strongly feel that non class room soft skills like those i mentioned are more important than formal technical education in the working world. I mean you can teach those things like technical proficiency but you cannot teach some one to be street smart, resourcefulness, innovativeness etc. those you pick up through your situation and surrounding

The only things that I would talk bad about Singaporean is that they take things for granted and other attitude that comes after it.

Anything else they're still well above average within Asia.

Just a dilemma. I have just done my Ep but have yet to collect the card. Then another potential employer has called me for an interview. It's a company that will offer me far better remuration as this is a permanent post (vendor) vs contract position (client) for oil and gas industry. I am wondering if I should go attend the interview. Hope all sifu can give me some advice.
Thanks.

it will have implication in MOM records when the new employer applies for EP for you. other than that, i dont see any reason why you shouldnt go for the interview.

I'm struggling to find jobs in SG due to the current economy in SG! Few agency told me that quite a number of EP holders being downgrade to S-Pass holders and finally they got back to work in KL. I'm a degree holder with 3 years working experiences in MNC Electonic company in KL! I think of change my life and find a job in SG. Is there anyone can help me to look for procurement/ Buyer/ supply chains/ etc in SG? Or, you may provide me information regarding those jobs whether it is easy to get in SG? Thanks.

i think msian hv a very great chance to get job in Sg,
most newspaper n job ads
hv criteria of receiveing sgporean/ SPR/ msian
well, coz msian can get any type of permit from work permit, spass, to epass
so to grab job is not a problem

but it just the matter of - salary or type of job u want
-if u not picky, job is widely available
-if u ok with any kind of permit, regardless ur qualification n experience

it takes time to find the right company suit ur style
but for me, just grab anything available first
