Agree. My battery also died in just 11 months! Also bear in mind that Turbo engines generate more heat and hence it will affect the battery life span. Anyway, its under warranty, so just claim! But i think the battery warranty is only 2 years?

Before the 2 years, drain out the battery. Left everything on in the car hehe

also, the ori battery cost RM1200 or more, while another cheaper one that does the job similarly(but slightly shorter lifespan if im not wrong) around RM400. better change before it dies, being stranded definitely sucks

Is changing the battery a complicated process or it's just as easy as swapping it out?

Coz I heard a friend say need to reconfigure, etc etc but dunno if this is the SC bs or not

to Polo Sports owners, what is the tyre pressure that you pump for your tyres?

as shown at the fuel cap, the recommended at cold are
- low load - F 32psi / R 29psi
- high load - F 35psi / R 38psi rclxub.gif

read somewhere states that slightly inflated tyres for highway as well as improve FC..
For me, usually drive alone , 70% highway..

which scirocco engine are talking about? 1.4 tsi, 2.0 tsi, 2.0 R or the 2.0 TDI?
http://www.topgear.com/uk/volkswagen/scirocco/verdict

While the 197bhp 2.0T engine might be broadly the same as the GTI's, the torque arrives earlier, making it seem quicker (though it hits 62mph in 7.2s, the same as the Golf). It's a bit inert when you really start to go mental, but you still come away with the sense that if you had to have a car that spans a multitude of situations, the Scirocco would be it.

Since the 1.4TSI comes with Volkswagen's 'Twincharger' system (meaning it boasts both a supercharger and turbocharger), it's lively and responsive despite it's diminutive size.

The 2.0TDI is fast-revving and punchy and sounds pretty rorty too. Not as clean and sweet as the petrol, but not rattly and never strained either.

The 260bhp 2.0 in the R feels punchier than the 197bhp You can feel the extra oomph, and yes, it is empirically really very quick indeed (0-62mph in 6s and 155mph) but most of the time, the noise and the power delivery is lacking that little extra something. And that something is joy.

I've a problem, my tyre pressure gauge lit up (not blinking) but I've looked at the tyres, doesnt look like any of the tyres look flat or low pressure. Any advise on what I should do? The check tyre gauge is still lit up after I start the engine again after about an hour from engine off.

Guys,

Silly question here but I dunno where should I post this question...pardon me if this is the wrong place.

Nway I will most probably taking up a new position in mid east in 3 months time. Just wanna ask how and where is the best method / place to sell my scirocco 1.4?

I got it brand new on 5 Jan 2011, white colour, 42k mileage n the only problem was battery died within 9 months which was replaced wh a higher power output battery under warranty claim. As for the rest no problems whatsoever.

What is the market price now roughly? Too bad I may need to let it go as I won't be using it for the next 3years at least. Nway I use the word may need to let it go because just waiting for the offer letter wink.gif touchwood no intervention or problem wh my offer letter wink.gif

Thanks for your help guys!

Thats the price quoted from the dealer, most of the time, prices from the dealers are usually quite high.

Yeah it was the Scirocco diesel at the time. They have plenty of diesel variants for the Scirocco over there from the 3-cylinder diesel to the 2.0 TDI variant.
