An analyst from a local bank-backed brokerage said he was upbeat about VGM's sales performance for this year.

Getting my loan approved was frankly the fastest thing done. Submit morning, by late evening SA msg me approve liao... and I was worried about the new loan approval guidelines, talk about a pleasant surprise! LOL!

Well according to Fuelly, my FC is 11.3L/100km

I was expecting a little bit better on my first fuel up but I guess it can't be helped since I was literally stuck in traffic for an hour or more for at least twice this week.

CC out of my range

Worked out your finances? Make sure the figure is a comfortable amount you are willing to pay then can liao lo.

Tyre prices: about rm550+ to 600+++ change at least once a year if heavy usage or 2 if average
Service cost: about 700+ to 800+, major about 2k++
FC: can surely hit 600km at least, for a car this size, considered good liao
DSG issues: doesn't seem to affect Passat units so far, some problems reported by CC owners but from older batches. Forum swimming through hundreds of posts between VAGSG and VAGMY to understand what I was buying and what problem I may have to put up with and fortunately no major issues for now.

Nothing stopping you from getting the car already what, all the info is there

mau korek info jek. dun la.
wah. my tyre can last for 2 year + at least. my daily trip average 60km nia blush.gif
service cost similar with BMW / Meciles liao
sad.gif
FC me dissapointed nia. tot the figure in paper veli match 1.
lu dapat discount ka?

BMW and Mercedes will cost you 1k+ each time you go in friend. I looked at the C200FL and F30 before I bought my Passat what so I know what to expect. Major services easily 2k to 3k+++. Oh and the f30 uses run flats and those cost like 1.6k to 2k a piece. If you change in SG then much cheaper as they sell the same run flats there for 615SGD, even after exchange rate of 2.51. laugh.gif

FC is good already considering I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for at 2hours + at least for the whole of last week. And the car is new, engine still not run in yet, you expecting miracles?

The longer you wait, the more you won't buy one. If safe buy, just accept rip off prices and just go Camry lo

F30 still got run flat meh?  hmm.gif I tot they eliminate after customer complain. now run as option. BTW, run flat veli noisy 1. but can get extra mileage compare regular tyre.

c class =regular 600+ - 800+ nia. each 12k km only la. Major yes like air cond = 2.6k all service at 60k km
But.. those were luxury car class service level.

eh... true also passat heavier than c class. FC abit higher.

Not complaining, just doing research nia  brows.gif
Regular service using mineral oil ? or fully? if 15k km, I think is fully
*
The SA at both Hap Seng Star and C&C Bintang told me (actually 2 SA) - my first service is going to cost me around RM900++ for the C200FL. The subsequent services could cost less but I highly doubt it.

Ooo..: too sad to hear...

188k car no push start and electronic seat..

Really fall in love wit this car n will convert to sirocco R if I get it...
*
Initially I lamented my Passat no electric seats and no bluetooth hands free but after driving the car, it don't matter anymore! The drive is just fantastic and that's just a Passat. I can imagine just how the roc and GTI owners feel when they get behind the wheels of their car!

Semi electric. Electric controls for lumbar and recline but none for forward and backwards or up and down.

Bluetooth confirm don't have. But I'm using a Jabra Cruiser anyway so no biggie.

Guys,

Any 1 on polo sport notice if the outside air automatically comes in after around 30minutes? Then have to unselect and select the internal air circulation button again so outside air dont come in.

My SA said it's a safety feature to prevent too much carbon dioxide built-up in the car (prevent drowsiness) by letting fresh air in. There may be a CO2 sensor built into our cars to detect CO2 levels in the car cabin.

Even BMW and Mercedes depreciates a lot in value, and what more a VW?

From my research, only Mercedes is able to hold its resale value better than all its luxury marque rivals.

Best to take 3 to 5 year loans if possible, sell the car off by 4 years and at least you should be able to get maximum amount of money back for the next upgrade.

I've a problem, my tyre pressure gauge lit up (not blinking) but I've looked at the tyres, doesnt look like any of the tyres look flat or low pressure. Any advise on what I should do? The check tyre gauge is still lit up after I start the engine again after about an hour from engine off.

haha.. Your SA was a girl? Sweet talk to you  laugh.gif
Anyway, anyone of you getting the tint from VW itself or source from outside?
I was quoted RM1700+ for RichCool (6 mil) or RM2300+ for HuperOptic (4 mil). Both are antiheat+antibreak..

Will it void any warranty of the car if tint it outside?  hmm.gif
*
Friend, very expensive man

Even TTDI 3M authorized dealer only quote me 2k for Crystalline + Crystalline security film 6mm sides while the Kota Damansara 3M branch also only quote me 1.9k at the most for the same thing. If your car is a Golf/Sirocco, it should be even cheaper!

interested in getting the passat 1.8, any comments ? where is the best place to buy [best discount] ?
*
Nice drive, comfortable, nice interior although there are some hard plastics. Aside from some annoying rattling from time to time, otherwise a good car.

What it does not have compared to some of its rivals (Japanese/Europeans)

- Keyless Entry and Smart Start System (Key push, not key turn)
- Tire pressure monitoring system
- Full Electric seats (semi-electric)
- Electric folding windows (it's manual)
- Solar and Security film
- Panoramic Roof

Go test drive to get a good feel of the car

i have test drive the car but which branches can get the most discount?
So far, i was offer 2 percent discount only + free tinted ...
*
LOL, that's a lot better than what I got. I got less than 1% and no tint, but they gave me a high trade in value for my car.

Forget about the free tinting, just do it outside on your own. For sure they will never give you good quality tint if they do it for you.

even VW SG same problem with SC.

http://www.vagsg.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28

seemed alot of vw owners jump ship already: http://www.vagsg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72629

my buddy in SG still enjoying his GTi though.

A lot of my friends buy 2nd hand now coz the damn COE is so expensive. Plus they have a robust 2nd hand market there, whether old car or new car also enjoy the same 1.88% interest rate.

If you look at the car prices there, it makes more sense buying a Mercedes C180 as it's only 20k apart from the Camry or similar sized car. Compromise is surely on the size and features la, but heck, it's still a merc.

Yes I notice that too. Not too sure how reliable CKD VWs are. Anyway, thanks mate.
*
I bought the CKD Passat, it's basically a CBU unit with CKD sticker. My SA said that the plant here isn't ready to assemble any CKD cars yet, LOL. Even my relative who works in VW SC has confirmed the CKD unit is actually CBU.

Everything is good so far and I'm happy.

If its actually cbu,  then why they try so hard to label it ckd. Just proudly declare it as cbu lah. I wonder what they are trying to prove.
*
Pricing what. Simple as that.

If Japanese D-segment and Continental cars are priced within 1 to 2k of each other, which would you take? For me, the answer is simple, surely continental, unless that Continental is Peugeot/Citroen. LOL!

In Singapore, the COE phenomenon caused Japanese/Continental D-segments and Mercedes C180 pricing to be just 15k to 20k apart. And for that few months, the top 4 best selling cars were Mercedes and BMW followed finally by VW and then Japanese cars.

CKD means the car has locally purchased parts that add up to 30% of the vehicle's total component cost. the SA told me they fix the doors here but she refuse to disclose what else.. unless VW bribed the gov whistling.gif they cant possibly sell them as CKD
*
I'm happy with the car and that's good enough for me. Plus, I doubt my Uncle will lie to me anyway.

Btw, VW is franchised by DRB Hicom here isn't it? I wonder who it is linked to here? whistling.gif

Yeah I agree. But hey, at least the price is pretty damn good for what I had to pay for my car. Easy choice between a Japu marque or Conti car at the same price point. Doubtful I would ever go back Japu again after this.
