Thanks for the advices.... So, we can't get the modem from outside shop?? Only available from Maxis??  Then how ah..??
*
when installation process,
TM will bring 1 MODEM - huawei, alcatel (depends landed or highrise)
MAXIS will bring 1 RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY aka wireless router - THOMSON

the modem cannot find from the shop as it is specialized for fibre usage only.
the RG can be swap with other wireless router in the market..but losing the VOIP features as the VOIP have to go through the THOMSON..

still face the intermittent disconnection issue. All lights will be like normal and even the thomson will say internet is connected but no machine can online until i manually disconnect and reconnect or wait longer than 10 minutes maybe. Most of the time i face this issue i will go manually connect/disconnect.

The timing for it to happen seems random, can be few day once, or few times within a couple of hour.

For the record, I'm on Public IP setup.

Apart from that, consider everything else normal la.

Exactly the same problem I am facing now...Mind to share what is yr router firmware version?
Can check the Thomson router page 192.168.1.254

Same issue faced, noticed this happened when WAN IP changed, software version 8.4.3.I, on public IP.

no such issues on 8.4.3.U, maybe time to push maxis for a firmware upgrade?

Latest firmware? Hmm... Doubt can download somewhere and flash ourselves. Time to call Maxis to have the router change?

my thomson TG784n with 8.4.3.U software also has intermittent disconnection.
i am using public IP. need to reconnect eInternet everytime Internet not working.

another issue i have is time to time my browser goto mylaunchpad.com.my unexpectedly. i tried to create fake mylaunchpad.com.my at 127.0.0.1 in order to redirect back using Referrer but Referrer info is not available. this forced marketing by Maxis is annoying and i donno what i have missed when i open so many links at once.

If that is the case, you might want to give customer service a call and ask them to come and reconfigure the Maxis Thomson router.

Hi all, the Maxis CS called yesterday to confirm the installation date which on this coming Saturday. Same case as above, they said they will come to install first without Modem..... the modem will provide to me only at the end of the month.... Can i know if i prefer using my own modem(With Wi Fi), which brand and model is compatible with Maxis Home Fiber??? Thanks.......
*
My installtion suppose to be tomorrow but I received a call from maxis cs just now, also telling me the tm guy will come to do the cabling 1st.
When modem got stock the maxis technician will come and install the modem.
I think not the tm modem stock outage is the thomson router, because i ask the maxis cs the tm guy will come together next round? he said no only maxis technician.
As i know u need the tm guy to configure tm modem then only the maxis technician can configure the router.
So I tell the maxis cs, i want postpone the installation.
I want all settle in 1 day. If according to their plan, then tm guy not here the 2nd round, what if the fiber cabling has problem? need to reschedule another day wait the tm guy to come and check? so i need to take another day off for that??? no way loh... I rather wait longer than take more leave.

I just hope it's a router with minimal problems. TM installer just drilled my water pipe although I forgot to tell them that there is one there. Got free install but need to change pipe sweat.gif

Maxis behaved as if customers are so desperate and are so willingly to accept whatever installation arrangement at Maxis's convenience and advantage.

@Danieltay
Thought there was improvement of page not loading issue, the intermittent disconnection still rampant. Need to disconnect and reconnect eInternet whenever it happens. mad.gif During intermittent disconnection, web pages not loading, youtube keep buffering forever and will not auto resume play even the connection was back to normal. surprisingly dect phone still have dial tone and I managed to do a test call during intermittent disconnection.
If Voip ok, why internet not ok ? I suspect the ID problem originated from Maxis core internet server.

Is because of the vlan. VoIP and data r different vlan, mean different network. That y VoIP won't be problem, when ur Internet problem.

I check with CS b4. We all having problem with Internet is because there server team update server setting. Once setting apply, the Internet will stop respond. So need to reconnect the Internet. I not sure true or not. CS said it will continue until end of this month

when facing the problem, do a tracert and see where the traffic dies. If before 2nd hop, then maybe router issue, if pass the 2nd hop, then most probably network issue. Though VoIP is OK, so most probably network issue.

Hi all,

I'm currently a user of unifi vip5 contemplating to change to maxis ftth10...

But after reading some prob existing users faced, such as not up to speed, maxis public wifi etc. I need some advice from existing user. Positive and negative... Got a bit confused here...

I'm currently staying in cheras (landed prop), mainly usage is to download stuff.

Thanks!

the browsing issue is most probably has to do with the way maxis server handle the task, not intermittent disconnection

based on my conversation with the cs guy, he told me what they did is switched off some kind of cache processing in the maxis server, which cause the browsing request to loop forever... that is why previously you'll see when a webpage is loading, it has to pass through a series of process before the webpage finally appear... now if you notice there is no longer such processes

i do not face such issue... are you using the latest firmware version(8.4.3.U) on the thomson router?

pls check your thomson router firmware version... if it's not 8.4.3.U, call cs and request a new replacement router

anyway, i am on private ip, not sure if this is a public ip issue
