i don't think u quite understand the concept of homeplug which goes through the powerline.
Maybe you can go ask the retail shop on what it can do for u.
*
Aztech WL566E not home plug...it's just wall plugged wifi extenter.
Model that is home plug with wifi ap function i think is aztech HL110EW.

many negative comments over this forum.
So, it is worth to switch to Unifi5M to Maxis10M?
*
depend on user, if want less problem i think should stay with the unifi 5M.
for those already has unifi and thinking of switching to maxis 10M....
if contract not yet finish better stay with it, no worth to pay the forfeit from tm for this.
Wait till all the maxis user pronblem solve then only decide lah.

Before you buy the expensive homeplug, you may want to consider this alternative solution with zero cost.
I solved the weak wifi signal problem with my redundant wifi router Linksys WRT54G previously used for Streamyx.
I just changed the Wireless setting of Linksys to AP mode and plug it LAN to LAN to Thomson.
Now I have 2 SSIDs, one from Linksys (stronger) and another from Thomson (weaker).
Speed test done indicated no different in speed and latency.
Thomson router performance dropped when too many wifi devices logged in at the same time so I hope Linksys can share the load and solve this problem too.

If want full signal even 2 houses away, buy this high gained USB Wifi adapter (if you are using PC or laptop).
I got one extra unit (in sealed box) to let go for RM50.

I think you can disable the wifi at thomson, to gain more stability plus less signal interference.
without the wifi function i believe the thomson router will generate less heat and less heat the router won't hang easily. icon_rolleyes.gif

Just plug high gained USB Wifi adapter into the thomson router? Need any configuration?
*
bro, i think you misunderstand what he does liao...
the usb wifi adapter is for p.c or laptop not the thomson router.
thet high gain USB wifi adapter(the wifisky) is for replace the existing wifi card or adapter u r having on ur laptop or p.c that have weak signal reception.
as for thomson router u need to plug in and configure 1 Wifi Access Point(the linksys) to take over the wifi function on the thomson router.

I sometimes use portable TP-Link TL-WR702N Nano router to create a bridge extension of Wifi signal at weak signal area. In bridge mode, your will have second SSID broadcasted by TP-Link and this is good for visiting guest. (At least my Thomson router gateway is protected from unauthorized log in)
The Nano router when in bridge mode is portable and it can easily plugged to any power point or portable USB battery bank.

I thought wifi bridge mode(WDS) all device still in same IP range. If both still in same IP range then ppl who connected to the tp-link still able to log in to the thomson router woh...
except the tp-link is NAT enable and DHCP enable then both thomson and tp-link is diferent class IP ...

no.. what i mean is i can login using Administrator as username and access key behind the thomson router as password before i did the reset.  Administrator account got extra setting options compare to normal user account.

backup and restore page need administrator login.. normal MaxisBB account wont have this feature.. i have done backup configuration before reset..

after reset i cant login into administrator account anymore.. password incorrect.. tried serial number also but no luck
*
I think your only solution is call maxis CS and post your problem in the maxis forum hope they'll reply back to you.

I don't get why people still wan home plug, currently there's so many reliable multi function routers which can perform better that is cheaper than this overprice home plug that I ve read had many problem overheat and does not last long issues.
*
because some people don't like those RJ45 cable hanging around all their house from upstairs to down stair just for the IPTV. And I believe IPTV need to use RJ45 instead of WIFI.
yes u got the point using repeater is a good option, but if the router's wifi somehow not reliable your repeater will have connectivity problem also...
and I'm agree that homeplug is overprice, that is why i said if u got extra money then only go and use it.

haha.... belum kena belum tahu... sudah kena, tiap2 hari menyesal tak sudah

maxis ftth world class customer service(minimum 10 minutes waiting time)

maxis ftth guinness world book of record... taking the longest time to load a webpage for a 10mbps connection(beating the likes of streamyx 512kbps by miles)
*
seriously did u consider to go maxis center (KLCC) complaint kaw-kaw ask them to terminate your account without the forfeit RM118 x the less of 24months... hmm.gif
then u can apply unifi or other BB service. nod.gif
