iWell, depends on your setup actually. For those living in high rise buildings, there is no chance at all to use dual phone lines. Once Maxis Fibre Home is installed, the TM line will be pulled out at the exchange point, thus, users will NOT BE ABLE to use that phone number line anymore, and together with that, no more streamyx. For landed, still possible, since it is a seperate new fibre optic line. But do take note that it will take 3-4 weeks for TM to process your cancellation request, thus, almost 1 month of wastage, especially those staying in high rise.

they didn't drill any hole, they just use the current telephone port. if your telephone line no tone, then got problems liao, the maxis guy told me, he face the customer telephone line no tone, tm guy go to riser there check, telephone line was stolen...damm shit, need to postpond until the tm replace the telephone cable...

anyway, the installation(if no problems) take less 1 hours, my is around 45minutes, because at first the tm guy said no tone from telephone, then go to riser there check, telephone cable plug into wrong port, then everything is smooth... just wait the tm guy waste 1 hours...

can, u just need to supply a long RJ11 cable..maybe abt 10 - 15m

i did not say to lay down unorganised on the floor..
u nailed it to the wall nicely..then it will be zero harm..
i'm living with my parents also..& i have networking at home..cables everywhere.
so to prevent tripping n unnecessary hazard, we nailed on the wall nicely..

i thought you already have streamyx in your home bro, how come you don't mind leaving the streamyx modem in the living room but you insist on having the maxis modem in your room?

how have you been connecting your pc to your streamyx all this while? i thought you're not using wifi?

Just re-use existing telephone cable (RJ-11) for streamyx and you will be fine. That's what I did, I already did cabling (long cabling) and they just reuse it without complaints.

i used my old Brother analog fax also can.

the phone itself its cordless but the dock still need to be wired.
and the standby time is awful not 1 day battery finished.
and the range is not good.
I use back my panasonic dect phone from streamyx is better.

yes still using the thomson router coz need the voip service.

using it 24/7. only once a week do manual reboot.

just put a cooler pad below the router and there will be no overheat and it will run fine.

Its a habit
not really 10 minutes.
i did my test, it took +- 5 minutes.

trust me u will need it.
if u torrent, the router will get very hot, and sometimes reboot itself.

just the cheapo RM 10.
plug it to the thomson usb port.
