Added on July 4, 2012, 2:19 pm QUOTE(toh2020 @ Jul 4 2012, 02:17 PM) now it makes sense your thompson modem does most of the work. with phone, wifi ppl also complain lagging & many problems. what more if added with iptv. what we need now is custom router settings for landed installations... anybody got it yet?tambah lagi public wifi.. can the router itself cope. or users have to help ownselves. QUOTE(lovecyndi @ Jul 4 2012, 08:03 PM) after 4hour of installation, tm and maxis return.fail. high rise or landed? location?because of the wire problem, keep get high ping. so they return and wait for next appointment. i am kind of disappointment for this happened. Added on July 4, 2012, 8:43 pm QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Jul 4 2012, 05:19 PM) I apply Unifi on Sunday and on Monday they call me to install on Tuesday but I postponed Wednesday (actually that was the agreed installation date on the application form) as I haven't bought cat6 cable yet. This is during the 118/mth promotion. They are ample TM contractors out there...maybe Maxis not enough their own contractors? it's a conspiracy i tell u!!! QUOTE(azizul1975 @ Jul 6 2012, 09:20 AM) ok this is what i've done : and this only applies to landed installationsoriginally i was using Jaring service, and of course the TM phone line for it. then i applied for maxis. later maxis called for installation date, and gave me new phone number. then maxis came to install. i asked whether can use old copper line, they say can. good. make life easy for everyone. installation done. then i went to TMpoint to cancel my TM phone line subscription. then i called Jaring to stop my Jaring internet service subscription. ..... basically you have to go and cancel your tm phone subscription, other wise you'll still receive the bill for something you don't use, unless of course you still want to use it which i think doesn't make sense since it will be redundant.... |

QUOTE(zDarkForceSz @ Jul 6 2012, 06:48 PM) I'M ONCE AGAIN BEEN CHEATED BY MAXIS!!! their initial coordination is always quite haphazard. Same like mine, I didn't receive a confirmation call after submitting online, contacted cust serv, was told my application is not in the system, and was advised to register at a maxis centre.1st call received @ Morning. Maxis staff called me and told me my application form is LOST. They will resolve with the person I registered with. Give them at least 1week and they will call back. If they don't, call them @ 123. Enough MARAH liao. 2nd call received @ around 4pm. Then he update at CFM [06/07/2012 @ 04:43:14 PM] devendra Resolution Date: 06/07/2012 Contact Person: Mr. Adrian xxxx xxx xxxxx Contact Number: 012-2xxxx22 Resolution Remark: Maxis has contacted the complainant to address his concerns regarding the status of his Maxis Home Fibre Internet application. We have confirmed with Mr. Adrian that we have received his application on the 30/06/2012 and are currently in the process of making the necessary arrangements. We have also advised him that this process will take between 1 to 2 weeks before we can provide him with the installation dates. Mr. Adrian has accepted our explanation on this matter and informed that he only wanted to ensure that the application was received. Accordingly this matter has been resolved. I TOT IT WILL BE SETTLE BY NOW. BUT YET, 3rd call receive @ 5pm. Another MAXIS staff told me he follow up my case and tell me my "APPLICATION FORM IS LOST". And say already emailed me the form and ask me to send back. BUT I DIDN'T RECEIVED ANY EMAIL AT ALL. 1st say FORM hilang. 2nd say already RECEIVED FORM. 3rd say FORM HILANG NEED RESUBMIT. Now I anything also didn't received. piss off man. I think I feel like switching all my account from Maxis to Celcom dy. D@MN Just as I was driving out of klcc after submitting my forms there, i finally received a call from another guy regarding my earlier submitted online application Added on July 7, 2012, 7:21 am QUOTE(ryudell @ Jul 6 2012, 10:15 PM) it is very week..need to put an access point as supporting.. so how long did they actually take to resolve your problem? seems like more than 24 hours right?if not, handphones will not be able to connect The VOIP & internet has no connection..even if ur internet is down, the VOIP still cn use.. my issue ald resolve..port problem.. after they reset, all done.. was on leave today, saw some tm guys doing some work on the telephone pole at the back of my house. at first i thought they were installing unifi, apparently they're just sorting out my neighbour's telephone line problems. got to ask them whether there are free ports for unifi since my installation is on this coming wednesday. "oohh unifi port ade byk banngggg"
so at least i can be pretty sure i wont be bogged down by the 'no port available' issue |

QUOTE(ryudell @ Jul 10 2012, 07:39 AM) if u pay to the contractor, it is their "profit" so the standard price for extra cabling is rm10/meter is it?if to TM or MAXIS, included in the 1st bill.. i paid rm70 for additional 10m of fibre cables to the contractor coz dont want to pay rm100 to maxis.. hahahaha.. so the receipt u get is the normal receipt u can purchased at book stores.. this is called "contractor cari makan" same as "polis cari makan" |

guys, quick question before installation today..
the connection between the huawei ONT and the thomson is just a normal lan connection right? if so i can always put the ont in one part of the house and... 1. pull a lan cable to the thomson, anywhere in the house? 2. connect them using home plugs? any confirmation? would the homeplug work? first time fibre user here. just thinking of ways to save on non-standard installation |

QUOTE(gogetter83 @ Jul 11 2012, 10:07 AM) sounds logical right?a homeplug would just treat the connection between the ONT and the modem as a normal LAN connection yeah? having said that, a pair of homeplugs would probably cost more than extending the fibre cable by 10 metres, for example.. Added on July 11, 2012, 10:22 am QUOTE(steventyy @ Jul 11 2012, 10:12 AM) Finally connect to internet with TPlink Router, which model? are you landed or highrise? seem like the connection is better and no 'Xdsl likestate down' error found in Tplink system log.... will continue monitor... but no VOIP now... we can choose where to drill the hole for the cable from the telephone pole to pass through right?
for example, the pole is right outside my kitchen, but instead of entering through the kitchen, i want them to enter through the store which is another 4 metres away. that way i could probably just make it with the 15 meters internal cabling. we're entitled for 85 meters external cabling right? |

QUOTE(chenglong @ Jul 11 2012, 12:04 PM) Hi all, Yesterday is my maxis home fiber 10M installation date. But TM technician told the Maxis technician that my area has very high noise interaction, around 45 dB (reasonable is around 25 dB or below) after fiber cable testing so they stop all the work. They just told me they will inform their management regarding this issue. which area is that? share with us Anyone here has facing similar issue ? |

QUOTE(ryudell @ Jul 11 2012, 11:16 AM) be remember..the 85m is frm FDP to FTB only.. noted. anyway i found this diagram from a unifi thread, should apply to us as well (and helps clarify the installation process too)the FTB will be place OUTSIDE the house.. the contractors said it is for future development that need to be placed outside the house compound where they cn access freely.. if from front, at the porch.. then 15m from FTB to the FWS or ATB.. from FWS to ATB is just 1-2 metres of cable to the modem.. that is how the contractors make money..access of internal fibre cables.. luckly mine was only access of 6m..so took 10m, paid him rm70.. |

wow, maxis guy right on the dot at 230 pm.. tm guys just one minute later haha
update 3.10pm took them more than 10 minutes to drill the hole. hopefully it's just concrete and they didn't hit the pipes or anything. thomson router already switched on. only 4 bars on windows 7, 12 feet away. my u mobile mifi can get full 5 bars haha. oh well.. Added on July 11, 2012, 2:43 pm QUOTE(Mac Man @ LYF @ Jul 11 2012, 02:41 PM) Share with us guys. you should insist on the 118 price man! you still have the carbon copy of your 1st application right? Two weeks ago I applied for the Home RM118 10MB promo at Giant Kota Damansara (3rd party Maxis partners). The lady that sign me up told me I just need to wait 1 week for installation, I assume they got some "special connection" inside Maxis, can get my boardband install in 1 week. After 1 week, no one call me, after 2 week still no one call me. After repeating bashing Maxis on Maxis forum, email, Twitter & call centre, I found out today that my application not even being process. Finally someone from Maxis inform me the 3rd party Maxis partner that I register the RM118 with did not submit my documents. I then call up the partner, they said they have submit to Maxis 2 weeks back. Lame argument, blaming each other. I giving Maxis last chance, just went to Maxis Taman Tun register for the RM138 promo, being told latest in 2 weeks time I will get call. The person that register me check my address, mention all is ok. If after 2 weeks still tak ada, going to Unifi for sure. The form mention Maxis 10MB will be cap to 100GB soon, Unifi 10MB already cap to 90GB, so so for both. Lesson learn - DO NOT apply Home boardband at 3rd party Maxis partners, just use them to pay bill & get replacement sim card. This post has been edited by jetwash: Jul 11 2012, 03:12 PM |
